  1. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) How much you wanna bet it has to do with ozzie's comments from a week ago. Just stirring up old news, looking for a negative spin. Some people never learn. The only reason this hack even has a job is because Keith Olbermann carried his ass all that time on Sportscenter.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) Exactly, if you did trade with the Scrubs, you'd better take them to the cleaners, otherwise you're just helping them out in a season where you could generate a lot of attention away from them. Agreed. Its time to show the city once and for all who the real baseball team is around here. Don't give em s***!
  3. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) I think this game will be won with our speed and with us scratching and clawing fora couple runs. I dont think we're losing anything by not having Dye or Timo in the lineup. Willie is hitting better, he's a lefty and he is faster. It's a crazy propostion and pretty unrealistic I just thought I'd throw it out there. I have been thinking Dye is due for awhile now too...I guess it's possible he breaks out of his slump against Harden, but not very likely. I could see throwing him in there as 2B but not as DH. Everett was downright scary in the outfield and I dont want to see him out there any time soon. Let him do his job at DH and let Willie play 2b if we really need the lefty bat in the lineup.
  4. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) the sox will draw well for the first game back on friday nite? as it stands right now, the best avail tickets are in Section 120, the first section of the lower deck box seats. I was hoping for at least 25k as a welcome back after a road trip that can go no worse than 6-2 and at worst a 2 game lead on the Twins. As long as the weather is nice I think the Sox will have a good draw. They're the hottest team in baseball right now, they're well in first place and there's a nice little buzz about them in the media. I think over 30 is pretty likely.
  5. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) IMO, any trade with the Cubs is risky for both sides. Just speaking from a PR standpoint, if we were to give up lets say Shingo, or Marte, and they were to propel the Cubs to the playoffs, we look really bad. Don't mess with success. There's no reason for KW to make any moves at this point. Pitching is as solid as it's gonna get & the offense has been there when it has been needed. When the weather warms up so will the bats.......then.....look out!
  6. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) Since I DO give a s*** about the Wolves.... The Wolves are up 3 games to 1 over the Houston Aeros, and can finish them off tonight in Houston. MEANINGLESS TIDBIT: Every time the Wolves have eliminated the Aeros from playoff competition, Chicago has gone on to win the championship. GO WOLVES!!!!!!! Since the Wolves are the farm team for the Thrashers I can see how you dont care about them but they are a Chicago team and since they've been in existence they have put out a FAR better product on the ice then the Slackhawks. I guess actually caring about winning gets you places after all.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) That is some serious dap right there. However, Like Kap said, I don't expect to see that about the Sox to often, so lets enjoy!!!! Just win dude, thats all that matters. Respect will be close behind.
  8. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Just for s***s and giggles....and to hear everyone argue Pods LF Iguchi 2B Everett RF Konerko 1B Rowand CF Pierzynski C Crede 3B Uribe SS Harris DH Harris as DH?! Are you s***ting me? Dye sat the other day. He's due for a big day and he needs to play his way through his current slump.
  9. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) Freeze frame this baby, cause you won't ever see it again. Until next week that is.
  10. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:52 AM) While I hate to hear a lot of that, it's the truth. Even though we're not scoring as much as we probably should be the key thing to remember is that it has been timely hitting. We're getting runs when we need them rather than 10-11 runs 1 day then nothing the next. I like this version a lot better.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:34 AM) I know he hasn't been on here for a while, but he was getting shipped over to Iraq... Hopefully everything is still well We're thinking about ya buddy.
  12. QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) This team is simply a hilarious riot right now, how could you not get wrapped up in it and just grab a beer and enjoy it? THIS IS TOO MUCH FUN! You're damn right. Now, more than ever, I find myself anxiously awaiting my next fix of White Sox baseball. It hasn't been this much fun to be a fan since 2000 and then back to the early 90's.
  13. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 05:07 AM) hey i have a great idea... why don't we make a permanent BBTN thread and pin it then we can track day to day how these clowns change their story about us and then we can all complain or cheer :rolly That's a hell of an idea......... ..........a little help please MODS?
  14. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Harden has definitely looked amazing so far this year. I will have to say that he is our biggest challege of a pitcher to face so far. Hopefully we can get to him early and Pods can harass him on the basepaths enough to eek out a victory. That's what you have to do with a tough pitcher like that. You have to distract him and mess with his head as much as possible.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) I think the difference is that he is trusting his stuff more. He also seems to be using his breaking ball more, which is actually alot better than I thought it was. He just needs to keep challenging hitters. He was still nibbling the plate at times last night but he went after batters on full counts and made them ground out. On the rare times he did get down in the count he came after hitters then too and was able to come back and get em most of the time. Nothing like a little confidence I always say.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 11:02 PM) The pitching is no fluke. We have argubly the best staff in the american league. It's gonna be down right scary when the offense comes around. We're not doing too bad on the Runs thing. We've scored 92 runs so far and that works out to 4.6 runs a game. Could that be a little better? Yes but its more then plenty for this staff.
  17. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) Welcome to Soxtalk Mamoscott I don't look for 6 runs from us tomorrow, lets hope Buehrle can grind through 7 IP or so, and we scrape a run or 2 out for him. As long as MB is on his game 1-2 runs should be plenty.
  18. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) He wasn't Judy because of his pitching, it's because he acts like a girl As long as he keeps pitching like this he can go out there and start ballet dancing wearing a pink tutu and singing love songs for all I care.
  19. Whoever kidnapped Judy...................dont you EVER bring him back. LOL!!!
  20. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) OK people try and follow me hear the sox have a 5 game lead on the 2nd place twins that more of a game lead then any 1st place team has on the last place team in the AL...make sence...it does to me go sox!! Another nail in the naysayers coffin.
  21. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) How about we win the series there before we get all cocky. With MB going tomorrow and Garcia going Wednesday I like our chances.
  22. Could the '03 Royals win in Oakland? We sure can.
  23. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) 5 games up on the Twinks. Minnesota WHO!?
