  1. We got some issues if we cant handle business against those slugs.
  2. If the Marlins plan on relying on him to close out games they wont make it that far.
  3. This is the SLAP board. This is a place where random violence between posters could flare up at any minute & we need some mods who are quick on the draw. Nice job guys!
  4. Now there's a scary scenerio. Game 7 of the 2004 NLCS, Fish .vs. Flubbs. Bottom 9th Marlins up by 1-2 runs & Botch comes in and promptly gives up a walk off blast by Sosa to end the series. That's the stuff nightmares are made up of and is an all too real possibility.
  5. This one's a no brainer. New starter.
  6. If you listen to Sideshow though all those people at Mitsubishi and NTN are flipping burgers and stuffing napkin holders. It's so typical of the left lately. They cant say the economy is hemmoraging jobs anymore so they fall back to the utterly rediculous argument that all the jobs being created are minimum wage crap jobs if they dont try to say the jobs created numbers coming out this year are totally false to begin with. Additionally, they just love to talk about jobs that are lost overseas but totally forget that jobs are coming back here from foregin companies who locate plants and offices here and American firms who find that their overseas plans were a failure. They just wont admit they are wrong on this issue no matter how much evidence comes out to the contrary.
  7. http://www.thestreet.com/markets/economics/10166527.html Does the Philly fed have a partisan motive to skew numbers? I think not. The manufacturing sector is smoking lately and they're adding workers. That's just in the northeast but similar reports from the Midwest, south and west are almost carbon copies. That's the bottom line. The long decline in manufacturing is over whether the left wants to admit it or not. You can sit there and assert that the data is phony but everybody that is anybody in the business world disagrees.
  8. When he sees a deal that benefits us. Chill out man. It's better that he wait to make the right deal than to do one just for the sake of doing it.
  9. KW is not done by any means at all. There's more to come for sure.
  10. How much of Botch's salary did we pick up if any?
  11. The losing of Botch is addition by way of subtraction. Dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out assclown!!!!
  12. Once again facts do not support that assertion, unless you consider burgers and napkins to be "durable goods" or "metallic products" or "computer and electronic products". http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t14.htm Dont take my word for it though, go read what the Department of Labor has to say about it.
  13. If KW plans on signing him then go ahead and give up Borchard but I'd have a problem with that too if it's just a rent-a-player.
  14. I am so cynical about the Hawks that I now feel that everything they do is done with the ulterior motive of screwing the fans just a little bit harder. After all that's gone on with this team in the last 10 years it'll take a lot to convince me otherwise.
  15. There is a lot more energy there now than there was even a couple of weeks ago. It's starting to feel like 2000 again and I couldn't be happier about it.
  16. I dont think Harris and Uribe's recent hiccup is anything to worry about. Hell, we're still cranking out bucketfuls of runs.
  17. There's no way Garland goes back to the pen. I dont even see Shoe going back either. We get another starter and Munoz is going back to the pen or back downstairs.
  18. I fell asleep during X-Men it was so bad but nothing could ever be worse than watching a chick flick. Now there's a stomach turning experience.
  19. I've been to the Cell, Old Comiskey, Wrigley and Camden Yards in Baltimore.
  20. Doesn't Boston own their ass too?
  21. Manufacturing jobs are leaving by the millions huh? If that's so then why has there been a net gain of 55,000 or so manufacturing jobs in the last 2 months according to the labor departments employment reports and why have upward revisions been made to manufacturing employment stats every month for the last 3 months? The economy works in cycles my friend and now we are firmly into a growth cycle after 2 years of recession. To say that all the jobs that are now being created are minmum wage crap jobs is as typical of your side as it is ludicrous. In fact according to the last months jobs report, the wal-mart type retail jobs you're whining about were barely a blip on the radar screen when compared to increases in such areas as Construction, Manufacturing, Financial and Health Care services. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t16.htm http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t14.htm The first link is a breakdown of average hourly earnings which shows that workers average earnings have risen by almost 40 cents an hour in the last year. If we were swapping high paying manufacturing jobs for part-time low pay wal mart jobs the opposite would be true. The second link is a breakdown of employment gains sector by sector. Dont take my word for it though, go look for yourself. Also, to blame outsourcing of jobs on the president just proves how ignorant about economics you are. The president has absolutely no say so whatsoever about whether or not a company stays in the US or moves its operations overseas. You should save your venom for the corporate execs who make those decisions.
  22. Whew! Ok, for a second there I thought you'd gone temporarily insane.
  23. Dine in!! We'll just sit around their park and feast on their pitching while Schoney mows down their hitters.
