No. An ERA of 6 is NOT acceptable for a closer. A closer is someone who is supposed to come in the 8th or 9th inning and slam the door & protect narrow leads. You are not getting that done with a balloon ERA like that. I dont know about you but I dont want a "closer" who you have to hold your breath every time he comes in cause theres a chance he might blow it.

Koch has had a few good outings in a row but I remain unconvinced. I may let off the Botch talk for a while but he blows another one & my favorite pitcher bashing prop is coming back out.

We need it to be. We are fortunate to have Schoenweis as successful as he's been so far & with the 5th slot still in limbo we need to have a consistent Garland to round out a solid 1-4

For the past 3 years we haven't known which Garland would show up. He's been maddeningly inconsistent having a brilliant outing one time then getting slapped around the next. Hopefully he can put a good streak together and be the dominant pitcher everyone wants.

Botch nails it down, Garland gets his win with a fine outing & all is right with Soxdom...........at least for tonight.

Ok then. Right now he's little more than a tee ball stand to MLB hitting so he needs to go use that one way greyhound ticket in cargo class to get back to Charlotte & fix his problems. The way he is now he's a liability.

Changing the lineup every day is like shuffling chairs on the titanic. We need to get the best lineup we can & stick with it a few days then kick these guys in the ass and tell em to stop trying to kill every pitch that gets thrown & we'll be fine.

Welcome back Pastime! Long time no see.

You know, I hate being cynical like that but it seems like it happens every freekin time. Some scrub goes against us or some dude in his MLB debut & he owns us like a bunch of b****es. That's frustrating.

That being said he'll probably throw 7 shutout innings & get the W against us tomorrow.

I agree on all points but to add to the Thomas part is that now he is so terrified he wont make it to 500 HR's that thats all he's trying to get now. He totally forgot about the team and is on this mad dash to hit HR's. That's costing the team big time also.
