QUOTE(Sonik22 @ May 19, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) Go Ducks! I hopped on the Sens bandwagon in the New Jersey series because the Devils are boring as s*** and need to die. Now I'm really glad they mad the finals, they are a cool team. It's funny though, the top line is doing all the scoring, Phillips and Volchenkov are blocking shots, and the rest of the team is just doing whatever they can to not f*** it up. Even Emery, he's been good but it's not like he's stood on his head. He just gets in position and stops the puck. Although I will say that McAmmond is ridiculously good at killing penalties and they win every faceoff they ever have.

Happy Birthday Spiff
Thanks people for the birthday wishes, it was a fun day. I called out of work and got some free beers at the bar so I really can't ask for much more than that.

Happy Birthday Spiff
Happy Birthday you are a pretty awesome dude, eloquent and well-dressed. Plus you save busloads of orphans from potentially fatal fires every day. Is there anything you can't do? Besides fail, that is?

QUOTE(shipps @ May 16, 2007 -> 07:19 PM) I seen Minus the Bear at the Beatkitchen last night.Awesome show except for the 100 degree temp in that place. There new stuff is pretty stellar also its a little bit more psychedelic. I'm looking forward to the new one, although I'm still pissed at how bad the remix cd was. In other news, Sage Francis and Chuck Ragan's new albums are both stellar, as is the new Smoke or Fire.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 01:14 AM) I'm not sure if this has been said before or not, but did anyone else think Contreras looks like Pedro Serrano (Major League) with his new facial hair? I thought he looked like Mo Vaughn, but David Palmer is a good call too.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Mar 24, 2007 -> 03:33 AM) I see. Well, for me, and I'm sure many others, it has to be the the catch he made in game 4 of the Series while falling into the stands. So beautiful. Shades of Derek Jeter

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 02:28 AM) The fact that Katrina could kill hundreds and hundreds of wonderful people, and forget to take a douche like this with it is pretty sad. New Orleans is a hell hole, was a hell hole before Katrina, will be a hell hole for all eternity after Katrina, the unfortunate victims still live in FEMA trailers, and will be pretty sad Sunday night after their franchise, which was a joke for 39 years, loses. This game WAS the most important Bears game in my life due to the stakes alone, but now, the stakes are even higher: shut up the morons and Katrina mongerers. I ask though, if it's true that every action has an equal and opposite reaciton, does that mean New Orleans will be re flooded when the Saints lose? Really, I think you should calm down. It's a football game.

AI to the Warriors?
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 03:15 AM) Scoop Jackson wrote an insulting article basically saying A.I. hasn't been traded yet because he's too black for Utah, Minnesota, Milwaukee, and Indianapolis since those cities aren't urban enough. What an absolute moron, apparently he missed the memo on the popularity of Kevin Garnett, Karl Malone, Michael Redd, and Reggie Miller in those markets. Oh wait, I guess they aren't true thugs like "The Answer". As much as I dislike Scoop Jackson, they're not at all like Iverson. Also, you forgot Alvin Robertson.

Also you could do what I did and compromise. I started with an electric, but traded it in for a semi-hollow. It's an Ibanez Talman Artcore, I know PA said he doesn't like Ibanez but I like mine a lot. The semi-hollow gives you a decent sound when you're playing unplugged but also a good sound when you're plugged in. I can't remember how much I paid, but I know it was under 300. I can't find any online stores with them but there's a few on ebay. Oh, and mine is silver and not blue.

Starting with an acoustic might get you frustrated quicker than starting with an electric, due to the height of the strings off of the neck (aka action), the pain of holding the strings down without calluses, and the awkwardness of acoustics just due to how much bigger they are, you have more trouble wrapping your arm around it. I might suggest starting with an electric until you know what you're doing a bit, and then trading it in for an electric. Then again if you start on an acoustic, an electric will seem like cake.
