  1. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Without Pierce, what would they be, maybe 8 to 10 games worse in the standings right now? Then they'd have a Top 5 pick in next year's draft. I don't think that I'm overrating Pierce. That guy is an offensive assassin who will singlehandedly keep you in games/win games against scrub opponents. Big SGs who can score at will are not necessarily good to have when you're in rebuilding mode (see Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, etc). They'll f*** with your draft status, there's no question about it. The key to sucking hard is to get yourself an undersized ball-hogging combo guard like Marbury, Francis, Ben Gordon, Jason Terry, etc. The list goes on and on. They'd be at least 8 to games worse without Pierce. But this draft doesn't look too great anyway, so I don't really mind losing draft priority. Drafting players is the one thing Ainge has proven he can do. Boston is a tough city when it comes to trading superstars. People get attached, and they get pissed. But it worked with Nomar, and it's really worked so far with Joe Thornton. I like having Pierce around still, it's a pride thing. I feel bad for him, because he plays with a bunch of guys that turn the ball over 25 times a game or whatever, but him being on the team means we at least have a chance to win.
  2. Not as lopsided as I first thought. I don't like losing Ricky but getting rid of Blount and the albatross of a contract was priority #1. Wally is a punk, but he can shoot. Kandi is gonna sit every game and then he's a free agent. It's time for Jefferson and Perkins to take over for good. They weren't gonna keep Banks anyway, and Reed is a free agent too. As good a defender as he is, they weren't using him much anyway. Plus they get a first rounder. The main problem is that Wally doesn't play defense, so instead of giving up 100 points a game, now they might give up 102-103. It doesn't really matter though, this team isn't going anywhere this year. Not only are they incapable of winning on the road, but at home they have the uncanny ability to jump out to leads and then turn around and let the other team back in it (see: wednesday's disgusting loss to Washington). They are too young, they don't know how to win games yet. It's going to be two-three years before all this rebuilding shows any results.
  3. Why don't we just change the name of this place to A&J's Tyson Chandler Discussion Pub.
  4. I gotta say David West but I also gotta put in the good word for Zaza Pachulia. He's an absolute monster on the offensive boards. And De-LONTE, oh man he's fun to watch. 9th in the league in field goal pct (#1 by far in adjust fg pct), 9th in 3pt pct, 4 boards and 4 assists (needs a few more) per game, 85% from the line, 2.5 a/to, he blocks shots as well as any guard in the league, there's nothing he can't do!
  5. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Travis Johnson is an FSU DL that is absolutely horrible... Do you just arbitrarily make things up or what is the deal here?
  6. Kobe scores 81 and people just find new things to b**** about. "He's a ballhog"; well his teammates shot 14-42, what would your strategy be exactly? "Don't even compare him to Jordan"; Jordan never scored 81. Unbelievable how some people can't just admit when they see greatness.
  7. Magic Johnson was always top 5 in turnovers too; that's what happens when you run a fast break type offense. I'm not saying Chauncey doesn't deserve MVP, but I wouldn't discount Nash because of turnovers especially since he's had to get used to new people while Billups has been playing with the same 4 guys since like 2004.
  8. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) yup, thanks for uhhh.. summarizing (sp?.. im not in a grammar/spelling-nazi mood) my post for me? Not summarizing so much as pointing out the irony.
  9. now lucchino can drop ben and jed back at daycare http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...as/extra_bases/
  10. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) LenDale White will be better than Reggie Bush. I have no doubt in my mind regarding that. Falling to the Pats? Kiper is a f***ing moron. I seriously think Kiper just reads NFLDraftcountdown.com (like 95% of the people on the internet who claim to know something about the draft) and then bases everything off of it. 5 days after Wright goes bonkers for D'Brick, Kiper does. Why anybody puts anything behind what he says is beyond me. And you are calling him a moron.

  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) Anyone knows that if the O-line is having a bad game, Peyton looks average. I don't see why everyone hates him. The coaching staff has entrusted him with running the offense.....he's an offensive coordinator on the field. If he's the offensive coordinator he can figure out the blocking schemes; all that pointing he does should be for some purpose (ie: to save his own ass). He didn't get it done. As for the whole "he's our assbag" thing, how many Colts players do you think feel that way after he threw the o-line under the bus after the game?
  13. Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room. had to.
  14. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) Yea Indiana is just so good because of Marco Killingsworth.......please. two questions: 1) do you know what knowledge is? 2) do you know how to use it?
  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) Just referencing the talk between Bears and Colts fans in general...Colts fans feeling like they are 'the' team, etc. I think it was more Heads and that dam6924309 guy. Heads said somethin along the lines of "bring on Pittsburgh, New England I don't care we'll mess 'em up."
  16. where the f*** is that dam8610whatever guy? so sure the colts were gonna steamroll everyone. yeah.
