  1. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) It's called being accountable. These guys are not being held accountable for their gross errors. They are officiating public games that bring in millions upon millions of dollars to these universities. To allow such errors to go unpunished is inappropriate. And because it is a public event, any consequences should be made public. Holding people accountable for their actions often makes for more quality work. You don't fire them and publicly humiliate them because they miss a call, use your brain for five seconds. Do you honestly think if they do that that anyone is going to want to ref games with that possibility hanging over their head? Just cause you're bitter doesn't mean there should be a public lynching.
  2. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) Another blown call ruins a possible great ending in the Iowa game. They need to start firing these officials and making it public that they have been canned. These guys are simply awful. Yes, that is a great plan to find better officials.
  3. QUOTE(farmteam @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Was it just me, or at the end of that QB run by Marcus Vick (it was at the same time when they were interviewing Michael Vick), did he stomp on that defender's calf with spike? he did, they didn't see it.
  4. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) Just got done setting up 3 tv's in my room for tomorrow's bowl games, should be glorious. Let's go ND have you heard of this nifty new invention they call a remote control?
  5. I think New Orleans might take Vince Young.
  6. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) question: who would the bears play in the 2nd round, is it the winner of the skins/bucs or panthers/giants? I'm assuming it's the skins/bucs, but just want to make sure. They'd play the highest remaining seed.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) You know as well as I do that this Colts team is a lot better than any of those past Colts teams though. There finally is a defense. Their pass defense is better, their run defense is about the same statistically.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) Please don't tell me you think "God's team" from NE is simply going to roll into Indy and beat the Colts? Depleted or not, the Pats put themselves into a very bad spot having to win on the road to get back to the Super Bowl. We'll see what happens. They might not even play the Colts. But there's no reason for a Colts fan to be arrogant about playing the Pats, because New England has won in Indy before and they've won the AFC Championship on the road before.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) Bring on Jacksonville/New England. We beat them in the regular season, and we'll be more than glad to do it again. Fairweather Colts fan getting arrogant after one win over a depleted Pats team.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Doug Flutie just dropped kick a perfect ball. That was fun. jinx
  11. J-Rich went nuts for 36 points last night against the Celts. He just didn't miss; I never realized he had that good a jump shot. It was pretty amazing to watch, even Heinson was heaping praise on him. Unfortunately in meant Golden State pulled out the win. Also, Ike Diogu is a good player but he's too aggressive to stay on the floor. He pushes and elbows and gets called more often than not. And Adonal Foyle wasn't totally useless, he actually had some life.
  12. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 29, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) Who is good that is in their conference? Is UCLA and Fresno in it? UCLA and Oregon, basically.
  13. Not as big a year for my kind of stuff as last year but there were still some great ones. 10. Dane Cook - Retaliation 9. Dog Traders - A Panic in a Pagoda 8. Minus the Bear - Menos el Oso 7. Comeback Kid - Wake the Dead 6. Millencolin - Kingwood 5. Sage Francis - A Healthy Distrust 4. Alkaline Trio - Crimson 3. Motion City Soundtrack - Commit This to Memory 2. A Wilhelm Scream - Ruiner 1. Pelican - The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Well if you are going to talk about which is the better conference, using depth is a better argument than which conference has the best team. I suppose I will use the fact that the ACC won the challenge for like the 7th straight year. That works.
  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Maybe they can get as many teams into the final four as the big ten does this year Maybe they can also win the title again
  16. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) How do you get one point? A safety on a two point conversion, I think.
  17. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) I'm ready for some good hoops! Then watch the ACC

    I am back

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) Nice to see ya back. How enfeebled were ya? Well....I had blood tests every day, I was on oxygen for about two weeks, I had a bronchoscopy and a surgical lung biopsy which led to two different chest tubes (to cure a collapsed lung), and there was a span of three or four days where all I could eat was jello and chicken broth. So now I'm pale and out of shape, but at least I'm not coughing up blood with migratory arthritis (the reason I originally went in).

    I am back

I was in the hospital from the 2nd until today with a nifty little bug called Wegner's vasculitis, in case anyone had wondered where I went. Anyway I tried to keep up with the Sox, I guess I like the Vazquez trade even though Chris Young was gettin a lot of good pub. Hope everyone's holiday season is shaping up well. At least I got out in time to watch all the bowl games (and Christmas, obviously).
