  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) So is that lost hope for this Spartan fanatic? No, they're still in alright shape.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) They're only down 4. Lebron is so f***in good. 13 for 17 from the field so far tonight. It took about an 11-0 run. They had 38 points through 40 minutes.
  3. The Cavs suck suck suck tonight. Wow it is ugly.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) Um....what, the, f***? So I'm checking out at Office Depot getting some stuff for a school project, I'm like the only one in the store. She hands me the bag and I turn to walk out. Then she goes, "Did you know.....Jesus loves you." I was like ok and proceeded to leave... WHAT IN HELL? at least somebody loves you
  5. People try to put me d-dowwwwwwwwwn Just because I hear no sound
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) vs. Oh yeah. When is Ron Turner due exactly?
  7. Imagine the kind of threads we'd have if Michigan actually had good players
  8. wow, Illinois is a 7 point favorite. I would have expected 3-4.
  9. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) Reggie Evans led the league in Rebounds Per 48 Minutes last year, but he is one of the least impressive shot-altering PFs in the entire NBA. I'm not going on his 0.2 Blocks per game, either. I've seen him play close to a dozen times, and he just doesn't do much for me outside of the prolific rebounding. Also, if we're talking about leaping ability, Danny Fortson is one of the absolute worst in the NBA along with some of your major fatasses like Shaq and Sweetney. From what I have observed, he couldn't play defense if his life depended on it. Most scouting reports on him are ripfests. Here's one in particular that I completely agree with: IIRC, Spiff is a Sonics fan, so maybe he has observed something that I haven't, but I'll have to stand by my assessment that they are about as vulnerable as you can be in the paint when it comes to stopping people. Petro and Swift need like 3 or 4 more years to develop. Seattle is completely f***ed in the short term. The Sonics are sort my western conference mistress but they're not close to the Celtics in terms of favorite teams. It does mean, however, that I'll watch them whenever they're on ESPN, and I agree that Fortson is somewhat of a lazy player on defense, that's what gets him in trouble. On offense though, I've seen him go after rebounds like crazy, and that gets him in trouble too heh. Setting up near the basket and waiting for rebounds isn't the worst thing in the world, especially if you have in fact forgotten how to jump (which I don't think he has). I still stand by my assertion that Evans is a good player. 7.4 ppg (53% FG pct) and 8.0 rpg in only 23 mins aint bad.
  10. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) I just order a double. That doesn't solve anything; you're paying for 8 and only getting what, 7 1/2 tops?! As a side, has anyone else noticed that a cheeseburger costs 99 cents at McDonalds but a double costs a dollar? The logic of this operation is far beyond my comprehension.
  11. You know what I hate? They say "Quarter-Pounder", but that's the weight pre-cooked. If you are advertising 4 ounces of burger, then that's what I expect, not whatever's left once you're done screwing around with it. And nobody speaks up about it either, they just let it go on. The American public needs to wake up!
  12. If you want to beat the Colts just have Kenny Chesney dress up in Bears gear, Peyton will be too upset to play.
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) That was the greatest game I have ever seen. I was left just shaking my head in amazement. Vince Young is just phenominal, and USC showed they have several future superstars in the NFL, and they will be back next year, Booty is a great QB and Lendale White/Desmond Reed will have over 1,000 yards. Eh, I think Lendale leaves too. 100 yards and 3 TD's, his stock will be pretty high.
  14. attention ABC, i can remember what bob leinart looks like, you don't have to remind me every 4 seconds.
  15. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 09:41 PM) I don't get how you make a 46 yarder down the middle, but miss a 15 yarder wide right. i can only think that he rushed it so they wouldnt review it
  16. Texas has a better defense, which should be talked about more. But the thing that scares me about their chances is the fact that Mack Brown coaches them.

    Grizzly Man

I saw the trailer a few months ago, looked interesting, forgot about it, but I'd prolly see it given the chance.
  18. John Rooney sighting on the UConn-Marquette game, which Marquette is winning 50-38 btw.
  19. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Yeah, tell me about it. The two gigantic raw motherf***ers (Robert Swift and Johan Petro) are getting absolutely no playing time. They needed to bring in some big men who could contribute right now, so in retrospect, those were probably stupid picks. A lot of people are high on Swift, though. Ridnour/Allen/Lewis make up a nice 1-2-3 combo, albeit a defensively challenged one. Vladimir Radmanovic is a good source of offense off the bench, but he can't play any defense either. Combine all of this with the fact that they have one of the worst defensive frontcourts in the NBA, and you have a team that ain't going anywhere in a hurry. The writing was on the wall for a while with this one. Management aint happy about such a slow start after they started last year 17-3 or whatever with basically the same team. But Radmanovic is not happy with his contract, he thinks their offer was too low, he's gonna be a free agent and he thinks they're tryin to sabotage his value. I really wanna like Ridnour but they miss Antonio Daniels bad. Ridnour makes a lot of bad passes and he can't really shoot that well. Lewis is the real key, when he's on they can be a force. Petro was starting and playing a decent amount early on, but he is just so young he was making mistakes and especially getting in foul trouble. But he's really talented so maybe once they're totally out of it he'll play. As far as defensive frontcourts, I like Evans and Fortson; they can defend and rebound but Fortson also gets in wicked foul trouble all the time. Overall though, giving up 105 ppg no that won't get you very far.
  20. People make fun of the Atlantic division, at least they have 2 teams .500 or better. Look at the Northwest. Minnesota 14-14 Utah 15-16 Denver 15-17 Seattle 13-17 Portland 10-20
  21. Because Uribe is The Man, end of story.
  22. Thursday on ESPN, #3 Villanova vs #8 Louisville followed by #6 Illinois vs #7MSU, two sweet games. Aboz should be on pins and needles all night
  23. QUOTE(ilsox7 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) First of all, don't tell me to use my brain for 5 seconds. Second, I am not an Iowa fan. Never have been, never will be. Third, this world and every business functions on being held accountable. College football is a public event. Just as public corporations are required to make aspects of their company known to the public, college sports should make aspects of their operation known to the public. Officials are an integral part of sporting events. Just like, say, expenses are an integral part of a business. When people screw up and overspend, you're damn right it's made known to the public and there are consequences. Just as there should be consequences for these officials. A simple press release stating: So and so was relieved of his duties as an offical for XXX Conference would be easy enough. Again, there should be accountability. How's that for using my brain? It's not. If you fire every ref who makes a bad call you won't have any refs left. They're human, mistakes happen, etc etc. Comparing a bowl game to a corporation? Ok, kind of a stretch. Who is going to be the one firing these refs? The conferences, and they aren't going to do that because of some bowl game. A better idea would be hiring the refs full-time, but no let's just fire them all until there's no more left.
