QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) Not real swift on much computer graphic stuff, but was wondering how to do the following. Every so often I see a picture in the paper that I wish I had a copy of , or wanted to download. Here's the issue. If there is a particular Sox picture that I see in the paper (say...Sun-times... for example). I'l go to the Suntimes sport section sight, but it only shows the text that is in the article, and not the picture that is with it in the actual newspaper. But yet, the next day, I'll see someone post a clear picture in a thread that is the same picture that I saw in the paper the previous day. 1) How do you get the picture if it's not on the newspapers websight, so as to be able to be able to download/print a copy of it? Thanks!!! I didn't see this until now but you basically wanna look around places like this and this. Just right-click and do Save As...

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) Sox pitchers: 113 pitches, 80 for strikes. That’s pretty damn amazing. Contreras 81-56 Cotts 24-16 Jenks 8-8 Edit: Now that I think about it, that can’t be right. Jenks threw two balls to Bagwell. Stupid ESPN. I think Fox said Jenks was 14-12 -

You gotta give em time to get their s*** together, it ended like 20 minutes ago.

I don't get hangovers, and it aint for lack of trying

I don't know, he's fouling off a lot of outside fastballs. But I don't really see that much difference between him now and him early in the season. He still goes the other way as much as anyone on the team. The only ones even close to doing it as much as him are Everett and Rowand.

Official College Football Thread

FSU lost too. Normally I'd be bummed but a) they really dont have a nat'l champ team, b.) they still have a chance at the BCS because of the ACC champ game, and c) the are so f***ing close to the series. -
wicked wicked wicked dissapointed with the new atmosphere cd. it was supposed to be classic. it sucks. slug mumbles. ant didn't care to put in any effort. been rocking pelican, comeback kid, and motion city soundtrack like there's no tomorrow. also, mike ness's "cheating at solitaire" (including a treeeeee-mendous cover of Dylan's "Don't Think Twice").

I don't want to pretend like I have suffered a real long time, 11 years or so doesn't stack up to a lot of Sox fans. But goddamn. Everything is new. Rolling through games like we already know the ending, in the playoffs, its unreal. I'd never seen a playoff win, a playoff series win, an ALCS win, and now possibly an ALCS series win and a World Series win. It's all happening at once and its incredible.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) When a 28 year old man in good physical shape just drops dead, that worries me. Not because he is the same age as me, but because of what might be the cause. The things athletes put into their bodies contribute to this. The lifestyle lived by athletes is not as healthy as it seems. A good example is Daryl Kile. What really concerns me is that these athletes are role models for children. I will step down from my soap box ... God bless and Godspeed Jason Collier. Abnormally tall people often have heart conditions that they don't know about.

I dont like watchin at the bar, home is much better although (and maybe because) I don't read the game thread. The beer is cheaper, you control the volume, etc.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 13, 2005 -> 03:06 AM) no it wasnt. i was in the upper deck with a perfect view of whether the guys went around or didnt... i would've called the same thing. i knew he went the moment it happened, didnt need the ump to say anything. side note: i think it's funny as hell when the crowd boos a really good call if it goes against us... IMO just sit down, shut up and deal with it. this is baseball - unfortunately it has rules. well apparently you didnt see a replay yet, because it appears as though he didnt go around.
-
No way, the only one even close to being blatant was Rowand. Crede at second was so close it's ridiculous and it went their way.
-
Rowand called out at home. Crede called out at second. Konerko called out on a called swing by the home plate ump. All these went against us, when 2 (and possibly 3) should have gone for us. The strike zone was (bleeping) huge for Washburn and co. tonight, and they had their share of breaks. I don't feel sorry for them.
-
We played like ass and lost 3-2 (thanks to Crede). With a team whose pitching is in such disarray as the Angels, I don't worry. Go out and get them tomorrow, then fight the good fight in LA, come back home and do what you gotta do.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) I normally hate CBS but their sports coverage is usually good. I wonder what baseball would look like? Just watch the 1992 World Series and you have your answer.

Stoneman lets another good reliever go for nothing
Spiff replied to SSH2005's topic in The Diamond Club
I remember him being good, not great, but definitely not someone I would just give away. -
I hope I don't jinx anything but there's one player on this team I never worry about and it's Mark Buehrle. I'll take him against a guy with 4.45 ERA any day.

to quote Reynolds "Boston's lack of pitching is an advantage." How my head kept from exploding I'll never know.

Scott Radinsky is in Pulley.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) It doesn't surprise me. I'm a Spartan fan but no John L Smith fan. I got a little swept up with the 4-0 start but the truth is, MSU finishes 7-5 and loses their bowl game again. Because John LLLLL Smith never seems to get it done in the really big games. What about Notre Dame?
