  1. Pretty self explanatory...
  2. Has anyone noticed that Jason Giambi has been a beast since the first month of the season? Seriously, he's probably been the best hitter in baseball. I didn't notice at all...who woulda thunk it?
  3. I know exactly where they can look: Ross Gload, Brian Anderson, Casey Rogowski, Chris Young...anywhere but Timo Perez (excluding Joe Borchard)!
  4. So I just tuned into the game. Can somebody explain to me why we have someone who is roundly considered one of the worst hitters in the majors batting 5th?! Sometimes it seems like Ozzie plays darts to pick the lineup...and the only name on the board is Timo Perez...
  5. Burke will get a call-up, I guarantee it. Probably BMac, Baj, Gload and Willie, also. You get 5, right? I don't see Anderson getting one, because Carl and Timo (blech) already play the OF occasionally.
  6. I was just wondering if anyone knew when the list of who made it through waivers will be released? I'm assuming that the process is complete/almost complete by now...is that a false assumption? I can't remember when it typically is known.
  7. BOOO!!! Gload hits an RBI double his first game back and then gets sent down? The Sox need a decent bench bat... I'm fine with Slick Willie going down though.
  8. Screw it...I doubt anything comes of this, sadly enough, but I have stuff to do, so cheer up everyone! 13.5 games!
  9. There is no clear picture...but with each passing minute it becomes more and more unlikely...
  10. Not to get anyone's hopes up or anything, but Tracy got pulled from the D'Backs game in the middle of the sixth for a defensive replacement. That doesn't necessarily mean anything since the D'Backs are kicking the Cubs' ass, but you never know...
  11. I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS HERE! But seriously, Tracy is a very good player who can play first, third and OF, so I would be delighted if KW swung a deal for him, and the D'Backs were fairly desperate for bullpen help, so it's somewhat believeable. However, I am still doubtful...and desperately hopeful...
  12. Moyer probably would have blocked that trade...I'll believe whatever I see on ESPN.com and nothing else.
  13. I don't know if he can play outfield, but he was primarily a first baseman at AAA. The D-Backs were going to move Tracy to RF...
  14. They wanted Romero, I do believe, but wanted to keep Mueller so that's why Youkilis. I do not know if this is true, however...
  15. Chad Tracy is Lyle Overbay pt. 2 and the D-Backs already have Tony Clark and stud prospect Conor Jackson at 1B. I believe they would trade him but I'm in doubt about this rumor. I think he would be a great pick-up though.
  16. One thing that scares me about this deal is that Pittsburgh DM Dave Littlefield has been demanding a king's ransom in all the trades he's made the last couple years, one reason why Redman and Mesa aren't gone yet. As long as it isn't going to take more than a mid-level prospect, though, I think he'd be a useful bench player, especially considering the Sox have arguably the worst bench in the majors as far as swinging the stick goes.
  17. Dunn is way better than Konerko... if the Reds are stupid enough to deal him rather than the aging Griffey or the disappointing Kearns, I would say DO IT, DO IT, DO IT KW!
  18. I wonder more how deeply involved he means, than in what trades, as I'm sure KW has inquired about the cost of most players on the market. How much further those inquiries have gone is what interests me...
  19. It's good to have a game to take the focus off of Frank and the trade deadline for the time being.
  20. It's actually if Park accepts. Nevin can't block the deal.
  21. Carl Everett was hated in every clubhouse he'd ever been in before he got to the Sox. If he could be had for cheap I think it might be worth it.
  22. I disagree. I think he's a fairly sure bet to leave San Diego, because they don't want him anymore and he has been benched. They'll want to deal him while he still has a bit of value, and he can't block a trade to all teams. I bet they're shopping him pretty hard.
  23. Personally I think he could put up better numbers than Everett, especially moving from an extreme pitcher's park, to a fairly extreme hitter's park.
  24. Again, he has a limited no trade clause, and I believe he can be traded to any team except 9 on his list, which I do not if the Sox are on or not...
