  1. Yep....I executed things flawlessy (trust me, even I was shocked, LOL).
  2. I ripped Haeger a lot but I'm a fan of him now. I still don't know if I like him out of the pen (simply because if he enters a game with runners on he's more prone to the wild pitch and far easier to steal off of) but I love the fact that he can pitch a lot of games and really give the club innings if necessary plus he gives them a completely different look out of the pen. Oh and he's gotten outs which is more than I could say about the rest of the squad.
  3. He still has Penny and Lowe and both are pretty damn good so I don't think he needs to get desperate. I think If I were him I'd solely look for top flight players I could get (garland would fit that bill) or guys I could get without giving up much at all.
  4. Minor League Beat - Volume 1
  5. Ya I know when I bought tickets at the box office the price was in canadian dollars and it really wasn't bad but at the time I went the dollar was a lot stronger than it is now.
  6. Buster Olney was on and said this move makes no sense to the Pirates and some people are speculating that the Pirates already have a deal done or at least very close with Wilson going elsewhere. Olney did say almost no teams are looking for shortstops so that could help the Sox as they may be the only one (I'm not saying acquire Wilson, but I"m saying if they want to go for a shortstop they may have leverage on there side as the only buyer).
  7. This is very insane and if it gets any wider could certainly effect the integrity of the game.
  8. Come August 1st I want to see Sweeney/Richar/Owens playing almost every day (plus Floyd in the rotation for the remainder of the season) and Adam Russell in the Sox pen.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 09:37 PM) The fuse has been lit since the break. 4-4 thus far. They should be about 7-1 though. But I could say that about a lot of games this season. This team just plays bad baseball, because they have had so many games that they pretty much threw away (with stupid base-running, a horrid pen, and terrible defense). All that is without even factoring in what was an anemic offense.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) He reminds me of post 2004 Juan Pierre with lesser base stealing abilities. Shoot...I'd be all for getting Juan Pierre. I take guys that can hit singles and steal bases, especially because you could likely get him on the cheap (in terms of talent) and get the Dodgers to throw some cash the Sox way. This club does need speed and Pierre would be a very solid pickup. In fact, I wouldn't be horrified if they acquired a talented young outfielder (think a Matt Kemp type) picked up a Pierre for left and signed an Aaron Rowand for CF. It wouldn't be amazing, but if you had Thome/Konerko you still have a lot of power there and you now have a leadoff hitter in Pierre (although I would like to see a guy who could post an OBP over .330 (he's really low this season) and a 2 hole hitter in Aaron plus a young outfielder who could develop into a middle of the order threat hopefully (with Sweeney also getting playing time).
  11. If the Sox opted to trade two pitchers, than I'd definitely be a fan of picking up Santana and letting him work through this (and my fascination with him has to do with his plus stuff, I could give a s*** what his name is). But the Angels aren't going to just give him up, they got full control of him for a couple more years.
  12. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 04:11 PM) ... and to think some of us here thought Lugo would be a good pick up. I would love to get Lugo. Do Contreras for Lugo and Willy Mo (with the BoSox picking up a very good chunk of Lugo's contract).
  13. I never expected the BoSox to be tied to Die, but I would definitely consider a deal involving Willy Mo Pena and a prospect. If they could get Ellsbury, perfect, although I'd do a Willy Mo and Craig Hansens for Dye deal (Hansen has tanked this year but he has talent and Willy Mo would at least help the club the next few years). And I really don't understand why the Sox have to make Dye happy (unless they are doing it out of respect or plan on dealing him and than trying to go after him over the off-season).
  14. Finally got xbox live set up..."Bullsback83" if anyone ever wants to get spanked at NCAA.
  15. He's been awesome and so has Mack and Thome and even Jerry Owens (whose been very productive since coming back from the minors).
  16. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) so would I... but would the Dodgers (I doubt it) If the Dodgers pen faltered I think they would consider it, but I doubt they would right now (however a good start by Contreras and another good week by Dye and that could truly change).
  17. This week, Mario & Gage got back to action discussing the rammifications of the Buehrle signing. They further discussed whether the club should turn to trade other starters (with Buehrle signed) as well as discussed the most recent bullpen shakeups and some new guys we will see in the pen in the next couple weeks as well. Oh and Gage goes off on the server company that closed the site for an extra day, so he was in an all around firey mood. Listen Here
  18. I think you guys will find that the site runs faster than it ever has (which is really nice). But we will have a better idea after having this thing up a few days (especially once everyone's images cache and all that jazz).
  19. I'd package Conteras & Dye as well as a reliever (even Thornton) for Hu and Eithier/Kemp.
  20. I was at yesterdays game and Colletti is a straight shooter so it makes me think if the right deal comes to the Dodgers and if they think he's healthy we'll see him in Dodger blue. I'm just hoping its for Kemp or Ethier
  21. Maybe they just want someone not named Juan Uribe, but overall Jack Wilson really isn't that much different. He's a weak offensive shortstop who is a pretty damn good fielder. Both are set to make similar money.
  22. Well we shut it down real quick and now we should be set to rock and roll
  23. We may be down for about 2 minutes here as we are restarting the server (just to clear out everything that built up while it has consistently been running the past few days).
  24. Itzuris really isn't much different from Wilson, except he makes less money. I would pass on either. Although I would never have a problem with Itzuris being a backup, but I think he's proven that he's not an everyday starter.
  25. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) WooHoo!!!!! Back in business ... again. Still looks great, hopefully no more crashes. Ya, I think we will be running faster than ever ever before. We had another issue unrelated to the site and that was cleared up when the server company blew this thing up and now we have both buttoned up.
