  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:41 AM) They are not in cap trouble, which is why they could pay Landry, especially if it involves Briggs getting dealt. And they are TIRED of Brown getting hurt every year and burning them, so this isn't a money issue IMO. No thanks. I'd rather pay Briggs considering the 6th pick is going to get Briggs type money. Giving an OLB whose proven and already a stud (and ie a more important position in my mind) is far superior than giving that sort of money to a freaking safety. If the Bears could have parlayed that pick into a mid first and an extra 2nd I'd have been all over it (or if they could have landed Calvin). QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:43 AM) I know it's still early to start thinking about this, but is there one guy that you're just hoping will fall to #31 but probably won't? Like Poszlusny (sp?), perhaps? My hope is that Dwayne Jarret is there with our 2nd rounder. I really really want him and I'd love it if Alan Branch fell all the way down the board to 31. I don't think it would happen, but I'd be a fan.
  2. Row has to be a happy man because Quinn fell into there laps.
  3. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Any thoughts on the Skins potentially having taken Landry for the Bears? I'm just thinking S is definitely a need or is that deal all the way dead at this point? I don't want Landry at 6. I don't want to give that type of signing bonus to a freaking safety, screw that. Its no difference than what the Niners did last year with Vernon Davis which was absolutely ridiculous (highest paid TE with no career games played in the NFL). IF the Bears made that deal it would have been to move down into the teens and take an olineman or possibly a WR/TE. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) There is a very real chance that injury prone Brown gets cut, and I hope people aren't silly enough to think Archuleta is any good. The Bears are not in cap trouble so there is no reason to cut Brown. Plus his contract isn't that bad and even if they did cut him they'd restructure and bring him back before they did anything else. Brown is a Bear, you can book that.
  4. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) Time to get ready for Detroit. Only question is whether Miami wastes it's time to show up for game 4 to avoid the sweep, and force us to finish them off up here. I love it. We still go to take care of business against Miami. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Gordon could not be a starting point guard over an 82 game season and in the playoffs. Period, end of sentence, end of story. He's a great offensive player, but he is what he is, a tiny 2 guard with incredible scoring ability. Hinrich is a very solid, above average PG when he's not in foul trouble, and is a plus defender as well. I couldn't even imagine what would happen to the teams defense with Hinrich out, not to mention we'd lead the world in turnovers if we had Gordon handling the ball for the majority of the game. I didn't understand the announcers saying how Gordon led the Bulls back, f*** that, Hinrich led the team back. His defense on Wade and him taking control of the ball and putting an end to the turnover fiasco (caused heavily by very poor decisions by BG and Deng) as well as the two rooks plus Hinrich hit all the clutch shots late in that game.
  5. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 11:05 AM) Hinrich may lose his starting job by next season. Are you kidding me? Hinrich may have had some foul trouble but he's still a s***LOAD and I mean a s***LOAD better than Ben Gordon. Now Deng is better, but thats it on the Bulls. Hinrich should always have the ball in his hands late in games, f*** this Ben Gordon crap, let Hinrich find BG an open shot because BG is a piss poor decision maker.
  6. The Vikes desperately could use a QB, but its also hard to pass up on a guy like Peterson. What a gifted athlete/back.
  7. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:37 AM) I can't believe the Lions would draft another 1st Round WR after all those busts, even if he was the best of the bunch. Johnson is a gifted athlete, but the Lions sure could have used more picks compared to one impact player. I still think Tampa and the Lions may work something out. Tampa has a ton of picks, the Lions like Gaines Adams and we all know Tampa LOVES Calvin. That said I really can't fault the Lions for making that pick because CJ was the best player on the board and even though they have taken a lot of WR's, they only have one WR and when you team him up with Roy Williams you can forget about WR for a long time (cause health is the only thing I see preventing CJ from being a stud).
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 03:04 AM) Yes to some pain killers? Nah, no pain killers. The freaking doc was amazing. I didn't feel a thing. Plus I had to get a tetnis shot since I hadn't had one in a while and I didn't even feel that (and I'm a sis when it comes to needles).

I doubted Gio but he's won me over.
  10. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) A bit off topic, but Jericho is the only show I bother watching. Heaven help us if CBS pulls that show off the air, I'll be as irate as I was when FOX pulled John Doe off.
  11. Yes to 15 stitches above the eye. Better yet, yes to an emergency room that got me in and out in 45 minutes (talk about amazing). The worse part was our freaking team lost the game too so I took the elbow to the head in vein and we got eliminated from the playoffs with the loss.
  12. What is this talk with the Skins? I see there apparently a 50/50 chance according to some sources with the trib that a deal goes down (I read this on the trib, I don't have any football sources).
  13. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) Fox gave "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" a chance. It initially aired on FX, but got poor ratings in the first season. They re-aired the first season on Fox and saw the same trend. They signed it for a second season though. (Maybe because Danny Devito was added to the cast?) And it paid off big time. I'm not sure what the deal is, but FX has a pretty good line-up of shows. Rescue Me, Nip Tuck, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I wonder why they put these shows on FX and not the national network. Because I don't think these shows could get away with the stuff they do on a national network (in terms of the type of jokes/language/violence, etc.
  14. Personally I could give two craps, especially since the comment about champagne was said after the effect. But thats just me. I know the rules are made for a reason but I don't think that reason was to prevent what Torri did.
  15. I'll be there Fri, Sat, & Sunday...one of those weekend days I'll be tailgating if all goes well.
  16. Well done...it may not have been pretty but it was a nice come from behind win by the Sox, even though in the middle of the comeback they blew the game and than had to come back again!!!!
  17. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) Agree that the Royals have the most boring announcers known to man? I'd say Yes, but I still take them over Hudler (although his stupidity makes him interesting). The thing I noticed is just how much the Royals announcers repeat themselves.
  18. Alex Gordon (The Gun appears to be pretty accurate): 94 MPH - FB up and away 94 MPH - Strike 90 MPH - Cutter or sinker (couldn't quite tell which) - Strike 86 MPH - Nasty Curve into the dirt (batter didn't bight though) HE GAWN on a 95 MPH fastball down in the zone.
  19. For those curious, Royals cast has this: 94 MPH - FB 86 (breaking ball) - Ground out
  20. Now it is just misting. Sanders flies out to Mack in RF.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) How close was he to being in fair territory? And I agree, you can't judge where the ball will go. Chip Ambres It was close, but he was clearly in foul territory when he was drilled.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) You just know nothing will be easy this upcoming inning. I'd bet more for Jenks giving up a run than him pitching a perfect 9th for the save. Perfect inning...book it.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) Seriously, how do they rule that? If it hit him in fair territory (even if it looked like it was heading foul, it would have been fair and the opposite would hold true as well). I'm 99% sure on that.
  24. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) If they stop it for the night, it would start in this exact same situation now right and they'd finish later. Tho at this point I imagine they'll try to do everything to get it in. Me too, but either way I don't like having to restart games because you never know what happens...momentum changes plus you have to use extra arms and all that jazz.
