LOST! thread
Wow...a day after the episode and no comments. Either everyone was like me and DVR'ing the Sox game and didn't get till lost till very late or not at all or you guys really didn't like the episode. Overall it wasn't as good as I expected after seeing the preview for the last few episodes. Still, I have came to realize I just have ridiculous hopes for the show and lately its been a lot better and its kind of cool...a new person on the island that is going to somehow know Desmond's girl Penny.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) And even if we beat Miami, we get DET 2nd round So...both teams are beatable. Sure they are both good teams, but they can be beat and the Bulls have beaten them both this season. If they show up and play good Chicago Bull basketball, this team is capable of knocking out both of those squads.

Went to an Iowa Cubs game tonight....
I'm barely willing to admit I've been to the state of Iowa, let alone an Iowa Cub game But ya, minor league games are a lot of fun.

If the Bulls are good they should be able to go through Miami and anyone else in the East. They had a pretty damn good season considering the injuries and everything else and it just so happened the Cavs picked up one more win. Big Whoop. The real season starts on Saturday.

I want to be remembered for...
When I'm gone, instead of having a funeral I want my family to all watch a Sox game (if its during the season) or a Bears game in memory of me. As far as being remembered, I just want to be remembered as a good person, a good father (in time), a loving husband (in time), and a great friend.

SouthSide Report: Turns out the Season Isn't Over
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) I've been insanely busy; I'm going to finally listen to this tomorrow night. About stinking time. We even gave specific mention to you during the show.

Ozzie's post game comments on Sammy
He should be beaned for the way he show-boated when the team was already up four runs. I was very dissapointed that the next batter wasn't drilled.

SouthSide Report: Turns out the Season Isn't Over
After the first two games of the season (vs. the Indians) White Sox fans were ready to pack in the season. The starters looked terrible and the offense was non-existent, but now a week later the Sox are around .500 and while the offense has been hideous the starting pitching has come around strong. So check out this week's show as Jason & Mario banter about a couple key members of the rotation and bullpen and one Juan Uribe. Gage than kicks Scalise out of the studio to perform a FutureSox segment with Ernst where the two breakdown the early performers down at the minor league level before Mario is brought back in to discuss the AL Central. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) Extremly small complaint, but any chance that the Chat link could be added to the default skin? Greasy is already on it. He asked us and either Heads or I will get around to it as soon as possible. My guess is it will be Heads because he's productive....I'm lazy.

4/13 Games
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) You're talking about a prospect here, not a starting pitcher who has already established himself. Excuse me if I'm not encouraged by a start where Floyd is giving up two baserunners per inning. But I think he had given up 6 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings so after that it was a bit better. BUt now, it wasn't a good start and he still struggles with his command. He's good command away from being pretty darn good (Because from what I saw in spring and have heard so far his stuff is pretty much back to what it was when he was one of the top prospects in the game). The thing is a lot of guys have not succeeded due to a lack of command, in fact thats probably the case out of most pitching prospects.

White Sox vs. Indians, 4/13/07 (W)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) To be honest, after how hard Mackowiak made it seem last year, any jump at all seems good to me. Need to avoid the double play against his sinker tonight. I've been surprised...Erstad's speed wasn't something I questioned it was how well he'd make the adjustment back to CF in terms of getting reads (because in Anaheim last year he wasn't meh out there, but I figured it was just due to rust and he'd pick it back up). So far he's been smooth out there...silky smooth.

I Hate Him!
Brandon Donnelly JT Snow (retired) Pudge Rodriguez Garrett Anderson David Eckstein (true story...I hated him in Anaheim...my fellow season seat holders in my section used to ask me all the time why I would consistently boo him every time he came to the plate and finally at the end of the season this old lady asked me how I could boo such a nice young man). Brandon Donnelly Sammy Sosa Scott Podsednik Kenny Rogers

Sweet, you are awesome Kalapse. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) Ugh....terrible feel to this game. I'll be thrilled if we keep them to less than 3 runs this inning. Have they already scored?

Recruiting Thread
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) Good news for IU, bad news for Gage, Peegs is reporting today that by all accounts Hamga is considered an IU lean and could be the next IU verbal for the '08 class... All a rumor at this point but still considered good news. Also, Devin Ebanks, Rivals No. 11 player in the 2008 class, has cut his list of schools to a final 4: Indiana, Miami-FL, Rutgers and Texas. I like our chances with this 6'7" wing out of Connecticut. ehhhh....the bad news is he's gone from Iowa for sure, but your right I'd hate to see him do good for that Hoosier team I hate on so much. Damn that state of Indiana (first the Colts beat my Bears...now the Hoosiers take Iowa's one top notch prospect).

2007 AL Central Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 12:22 PM) Kind of confused here...if the Sox were looking to cut back payroll, Vazquez would be one of the first to go. If they're looking to keep the payroll where it is, he'll be around, put up solid numbers, and be a great market value player. Unless Vazquez gets hurt - and that risk holds true for every MLB player period - it's a great deal because it allows so much flexibility for the Sox. He's implying that the Vazquez signing would not have been a good one had the Sox been in a budget cut mode. However, with the payroll being steady at 100 million and it looks like that will be the case over the next couple of years the move ends up making a lot of sense.

Possible Briggs Replacement?
The Giants had originally tried trading for him and I'd imagine they'd be the front-runners to land him. I'd also be a fan of picking up Wilson because I think the Bears need to do all they can to provide themselves with some insurance for this whole Briggs situation (and if the Bears feel they have that guy on the roster already, than Wilson is a good guy to bring in while the Bears work on developing that young LB already on the roster or the one they draft).
