Excellent job by Aardsma.

The Sox will hold there spot. While Thome is down the rest of the bats will heat up and the pitching will remain strong.

Holy s***...Sweeney with an amazing catch with runners on 2nd and 3rd and than they throw to 3rd and the runner left early and didn't tag, so now 2 outs.

Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) I just want to say that I believe Michael Bush will be the steal of this draft. Raiders have done very well. They got a stud QB, a real steal in a RB (who will start for them by next year) and got rid of a problem child while seeing if they could take advantage of Mike Williams (and I think he's got a good chance to maybe re-emerge with Kiffin).

Official 2006-2007 NBA Discussion Thread
Yes...and what freaking cowards the Heat were..they flat out quit and the fans should be completely embarrased in how there team performed (what a disgraceful performance). Can't say I didn't enjoy it, especially considering how much I hate Pat Riley.

Sweeney Called Up
QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:04 PM) really the sox system is weak? everyone on the board says its great. they like him better than the surfer dude Anderson is never going to have a career with the Sox, Sweeney should have a pretty long one.

Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
Interesting first day. I don't know what to think about it, not a Wolfe fan (like his speed, absolutely dispise his size and I'd have prefered Michael Bush who I think is a stud) and I'm not too sure what to think about the LB from Stanford or the DE in the 2nd (simply because the team didn't need a DE). I love the first pick though.

Yes, I called it. I love it.

SSR: Brian Anderson, Jim Thome, NBA Playoffs
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 06:49 PM) Jason, you sound different. Probably the lack of sleep from spending some time in the ER and than having a bday to go to afterwards.

SSR: Brian Anderson, Jim Thome, NBA Playoffs
SouthSideReport (Our Brand New Player) This week Jason Gage is joined by a special guest, Danny Santaromita, of FutureSox.com. The two discuss the previous week, more specifically the struggles of Brian Anderson and whether his career on the Southside is over. They also breakdown Jim Thome's injury and the different options Ken Williams and Ozzie Guillen have. In addition, with the NBA playoffs in full force Gage and Santaromita discuss the Bulls playoff chances as well as give a quick breakdown on the NBA playoffs. You also have a couple typical Gage rants and some great minor league discussion and much much more!!!!

Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
KC is interested in Quinn apparently. I still think if he gets past KC, than he's falling all the way to the Bears (unless someone moves up in between than). Griffin is a good safety, but the Titans vastly need to get Young help and probably could have afforded to taken a WR in the first two rounds. They got absolute crap at the WR position.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 05:35 AM) How is Weaver this year? Didnt he start the year on the DL? Two starts so far. One he gave up a couple early runs and really looked good and the second he got hit up real hard. But his stuff looks pretty good and its just a matter of him getting his feel back.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:26 PM) What do you think of Jarrett? He's still talented as hell but part of me says he has Mike Williams II written all over him. I would still love the Bears to get him. Compare him to Williams all you want, but Jarrett isn't as big (weight wise) and while he doesn't have speed he has ridiculous hands. I'd have no complaints if the team got him because I think he could be the guy that develops into Mooses replacement while the Bears hope Berrian/Bradley continue to be the deep threat.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) I'm hoping Grubbs falls to us. If we could get Rice or Jarrett in the 2nd round I'd be thrilled. i guarantee one of those guys will be there. Steve Smith could be as well and If those guys are there I don't know if the Bears pass. However, Quinn could fall all the way to the Bears because most of the teams picking next have QB's (unless of course Dallas, KC or Carolina grabs him or a team like Cleveland/Detroit moves up). And I'm not saying the Bears take him, but they could get some value from Detroit/Cleveland...say move down a couple picks and grab a nice 3rd.

Freddy Garcia Thread
QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:14 PM) Trading Garland for Hirsh doesn't improve the team as long as Garcia is still in the rotation. It doubtfully improves the team anyway. Trading Garland for Hirsch would have been flat stupid. The two guys are practically the same age and Garland already has a world series win and a couple 16 plus win seasons. Moving Garcia made sense, he was old, due to be a FA at the end of this season and the Sox scouts knew his best years were behind him. Unfortunately Kenny under-estimated the fact that the rest of baseball didn't realize how mediocre Freddy now is and maybe could have gotten one more prospect. Still, Gio and Floyd are both very good arms. Hell, I'd make a case that Floyd is more talented than Hirsch (when his stuff is right, albeit that also has to do with Floyds mental well being and Floyd is just a bit younger).

Official 2007 NFL Draft Thread
They took a pretty talented guy in Harrell. I don't get all the booing because he's pretty damn talented but he had that injury. I think he would have been a top 10 pick had he not had that injury. I like it. I also must say I love Michael Smith. He's got great poise and actually knows what he's talking about (even though he had the Pack taking Meachem). God Meachem is a guy I'd freaking love too. I really want to make sure we surround Rex with weapons, a good oline (we should pick up a couple this year in order to prepare for our aging line) and I'm sure we'll be a back. I wouldn't mind Booker in the 3rd if he was there. Christ...they are going to have a shot at Sydney Rice and possibly Jarrett in the 2nd round so I don't see the need to panic.

Erstad/Anderson MEGAThread
I freaking love Erstad. He is not a great player, but damn it he does a lot of things good when he's healthy and he's got such an amazing attitude and on field presence and he is an excellent role player.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) Rodgers getting kind of long-in-the-tooth as a backup. Could they pick up Quinn and swing Rodgers for Moss? NO, the Raiders don't need another QB, but I do think they could swing Rodgers somewhere. The question is how much have they soured on Rodgers. I think that Quinn is a solid pick-up, however, I'm sure there is also some pressure to find a player that makes them better now. I'll tell you one thing, I'd freaking love for the tackle from Central Michigan to somehow find its way down to the Bears (it'll never happen though, not after he's climbed up all the damn draft boards). Joe Staley. Brady is handling this like a four year starter (with a ton of poise). I think Cleveland has to find a way to grab him. Cleveland or Detroit. I know I'd be s***ting my pants out there knowing that every pick you lose a couple mill.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) I really think taking Ginn at 9 is like taking Hester at 9. Ginn has awesome hands and I think a few years from now he'll be that Steve Smith type of WR. However, your spot on and that in the first year to two he will basically be Hester (the key will be him developing into that Steve Smith later on).

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) I would love for that to take place, although my prediction is Steve Smith to the Bears. WOWOWOWOWOWOW GINN??? I think one of the USC receivers will be a Bear. Holy s***...Ginn...WOW. Is Quinn now headed to Buffalo maybe? I could see Carolina taking him cause Delhomme is crap.
