  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) yep, everything is all centered and pretty now for me too. Are the old skins going to be available again? I used to have the silver and black one, but I really want the pink one. All the old skins won't work, but we will be building a custom banner that we hope will be much more comptabile with firefox. The banner is now working thanks to Heads getting to work on that. I'm working on finding a way to get the quick edit feature and the poll to start working with mozilla.
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Is search and thread viewers coming back??? I'm going to run a test later tonight, but my guess is that won't come back until we finalize the upgrade (the hardest part is out of the way though) by upgrading our mysql to version 4.x which will allow indexing.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) Quick edit doesnt work for me on FireFox. I think we will notice thats a going trend and that although people will be able to enjoy Soxtalk using FireFox, they will be able to maximize that enjoyment (ie the features) using IE.
  4. QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Within Firefox the top banner overlaps the top header box. I can live with it though. Looks good at first glance. Ya, FireFox has trouble with the Polls and the Top Banner. I'm hoping I can fix the code on the top banner, but the Poll issue is probably something that will have to be resolved with FireFox or Invision. From what I can tell, the poll issue stems from a recent firefox upgrade and that older versions of firefox worked fine with the poll. I think I'm going to go back to IE when 7.0 final is released. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) What is new? Maybe I am missing something. The window is different, and I like how it is set up, but it doesnt seem that much different from editing posts before. Quick edit, just lets you edit things immediately without having to open up a new window.
  5. Ya, I just use New Topic or Fast Reply. However, I love the new way of editing posts.
  6. The banner could have been me centering it. I just realized, the quick edit feature ROCKS.
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Just out of curiousity, why doesn't Soxtalk move to VB? Is it a cost thing, or do you guys just like IPB more? Mainly we like IPB more and have had good luck with it. From what I've been told IPB takes a little less of a server load as well. Plus since I've paid for one (and its a lot more affordable) I figure no reason to pay for a different one.
  8. Test Test I have now noticed a problem when you try and do add reply (instead of using fast reply). You don't get to see the post. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 9, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) Test Test I have now noticed a problem when you try and do add reply (instead of using fast reply). You don't get to see the post. Nevermind, I Forgot that I was using an older skin.
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 9, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) The banner is extremely fished up... On Ie, it works perfectly. Part of it just deals with the fact that Mozilla doesn't work well with the site for at least the temporary time being.
  10. Ya, it seems like invision is built to work much better with IE. I'm looking to see if there is a fix for that, but not positive on that.
  11. QUOTE(That funky motion @ May 9, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) Thanks for all of your hard work! Not a problem, hopefully I can get a few of these minor bugs cleared.
  12. I have upgraded the forums and with that, everything has been upgraded. We are now running on the most up to date version of Invision and with that we have a lot more features on this forum (what they are I have no idea since this is the first I've been on it) and we also have the most up to date security settings. If anyone notices any problems, please inform me. I also want to re-iterate that we still have one more upgrade to do (upgrading our mysql to a more efficient form). One thing you will notice is that all posts will appear new, but I think thats about the only thing you'll notice. I for one am amazed that this appeared to work. I'm giving myself a few pats on the back for this. I ended up doing about 90% of it (instead of waiting on invision). I'll be working on prettying things up for the next day or so and than we'll probably take a week or so to get a custom skin up. Having a little trouble with a few things using mozilla, but hopefully I can fix that. The main problem is getting the graphic to show up properly on mozilla (the Javy header which I just pulled down for a sec). It shows up perfectly in IE.
  13. So PS3 will be 600 US dollars. Well screw that.
  14. QUOTE(Hatchetman @ May 8, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) I was looking at his stats and he is walking a boatload of guys. His success may be partially luck - 6 starts isn't exactly statistically significant. But most importantly he hasn't given up a homer all season. If he can keep the ball in the park, he should survive in the majors. He also pitched very well when he was promoted to Bham. It seems he's either very very good or very very bad and this season he's yet to be very very bad. Hopefully that doesn't happen on Wednesday if he does pitch.
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 8, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) It seems like Buerhle's broken foot all over again. To me, it looks like Contreras is feeling better, but probably isn't 100%, so the Sox don't want to take a chance. Maybe tomorrow he is 100% and will make his start Wed. If not,CH gets the nod, but if JC is close to 100%, then maybe the question is whether to DL him, or send someone down. If its 1 start, they could send down Logan, and then after CH's start, send him down and call up Lopez. I think you have to stay down for 10 days or so if you get optioned. Actually, think of it this way. What if the Sox feel Nelson is pretty much ready. They have him pitch in a couple games really quickly in Charlotte. If Jose comes around as planned, the Sox give him a precautionary rest (having him miss one start). To make room the Sox send Logan down and call up Haeger. Than after the game, the Sox send Haeger down and replace him with Nelson, who they want in the rotation. Note: The above is purely me speculating...not going on any sources or inside info.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) So am I the only one lost or is that a group thing? The front page story has been continously updated so if you check that it should give you a pretty good heads up on whats going on.
  17. QUOTE(JimH @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:53 PM) Exactly, no reason to make an announcement now, even if they knew 100% what they are gonna do. I may ask you to explain this to quickman via IM he is in Seattle at the Mariner game and has been blowing s*** my way for the better part of two hours because he hasn't heard it streaming on the Score or seen it confirmed online. Well if makes Quick feel better, just tell him its only going to be a start or two at the most. I know the idea of a farm hand pitching any longer than that is just scary to Quick
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) The official site says it's a hip problem, true? The problem is with his back and a lot of times if you have a pinched nerve or something along those lines (and I don't know what his back problem is) it can also effect your hip. But the article I read on the official site mentioned both.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) There's no chance McCarthy will start tomorrow. He even stated in the paper that his arm didn't feel great yesterday after the back-to-back performances. Ya, I know that. I was just responding to Ozzie's quote. I think that Ozzie's quote is a case of trying to keep the Angels off guard. The odds favor the fact that Haeger will be up, but that doesn't mean nothing will happen. I think Coop's quotes say it best and barring really positive news, they will hold him out of the next 2 starts.
  20. QUOTE(TLAK @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:44 PM) Now MLB has it too: MLB Com That whoosing sound you hear is the sigh of releif coming from FutureSox.
  21. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) If Contreras misses a start, I could see using Mc Carthy to start in place of Jose instead of bringing a guy up from Charlotte. The hard part of that is that Brandon made 2 appearances (Sat and Sunday) and we may be pushing him too soon. I think the last thing Ozzie wants to do (and I realize this is being extremely careful) is to either rush Brandon (and have a guy who is going to be counted upon heavily in our pen) or rush Jose (a guy that is being looked upon to be an ace). If Jose is 100% tomorrow, he pitches (I'm talking in terms of his back), anything less and I think the Sox just let him miss two starts and be extra careful.
  22. If Jose, doesn't go on the DL, who would go down so Haeger could make the extra start? It wouldn't be that big of a deal to send Logan down. One question, when we send Logan down, how long does he have to be down before we can recall him?
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) I think part of this is wanting to be over cautious with Count (and get him some rest in the process) and another part of it is they want to give Haeger a couple shots with the big club and see how he does, since again we have that luxury right now. I'm not questioning your site or article (which are both good), just saying it's funny how much in a period of several hours a story can twist and turn in this age of the media. Don't worry, my feelings won't get hurt either way. I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong in the future and I could very well be wrong now.
