  1. Happy Birthday Brian. Hopefully we'll all be tailgating in a few weeks at the world series And dbaho...take note of the name I used in this post
  2. They still saw that horrible flick Flightplan. It was another one of those movies where I thought to msyelf, thank god I get to see movies for free, cause it was horrid.
  3. I may be down for that. Gonna be playing some hookie from school on the 1st two days.
  4. Who cares who we play. If your good enough to win it all your good enough to beat whoever you match up against. Sox just got to go out and play there baseball, if they do they got a shot at beating every club in the playoffs. IF they don't, they'll be packing there bags a little early. I'm just gonna enjoy the ride
  5. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Talk about an idea whose time has come. I don’t even find the same tired, discredited arguments in this thread that one usually hears – that second-hand smoke isn’t dangerous; that everyone in the city would just up and drive to the suburbs and stop patronizing their neighborhood taverns; that it’s socialism run amuck (well, maybe a couple keep trying that out); and my favorite – if you don’t like to work in a toxic environment, just go find another job, all the many thousands of you mopes trying to make a living in the hospitality industry. I’m sorry to hear Mayor Daley supporting “compromises” and making that ridiculous statement that we don’t want to antagonize any industry. He doesn’t even have to be out in front on this. New York City has already led the way with no economic disaster resulting. Yesterday I called my alderman, O’Connor, to give him my opinion and see where he stood; I called the sponsoring alderman, Smith, just to put in my “atta’boy” for all his work; and I phoned to check out a club where I’d really like to go hear some music, but they allow smoking. Maybe next year I’ll be able to go spend my money at that club. New York didn't lead the way. Its been illegal out in Cali for what seems like 7 or 8 years. Its been a long long time since I ever had to ask for something non-smoking. From hotels to restaurants to bars, hell, even strip clubs, everything is smoke free.
  6. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Has anyone noticed that Notre Dame is 4-1? Anyone notice that all four of those wins were on the road? If they can figure out how to win at home they will be dangerous. Their next five games are all at home. If they can somehow take down USC (I think thats who they play next) all I can say is wowzer. They could honestly be 5-0 if it weren't for two stupid turnovers in the MSU game (the one where they fumbled on the goaline on a 1st and goal from the 1... I still think it was touchdown before a fumble) and than Quinn's pick that was taken back for a TD at the start of the 2nd half.
  7. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) CLEVELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not gonna trash talk that Cleveland squad. They fought there asses off and even if they don't get in, they are gonna be a potential thorn in the Sox side for the next couple years. They are a really good team. Of course that could change if Millwood, Wickman and Company get away this offseason.
  8. Iowa pulled away in the 2nd half though. Interesting game going on up in Michigan. Michigan just took a touchdown lead in the 4th quarter after MSU had battled back.
  9. Watch for the squeeze play
  10. I think there was some work being done to the database today. In case anyones curious about the lag of the board earlier today. Were trying to get everything set for the playoffs.
  11. I hope Gload gets hot. If he does he may create a roster spot for himself. I still have a lot of doubts though. Blum is just really versatile, although I really don't think he plays any position all that well. And he's a horrible hitter.
  12. Willie is gonna be on the postseason roster. He's a huge asset as a pinch runner.

QUOTE(Cali @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) There is still a fire going on here in the Burbank Hills. Me and my buddy just went up there and shot some video footage. Didn't get the best shots, but it was still cool. Obviously we couln't get thaht close, but still... If the Sox play down in Anaheim you gonna make it down by any chance for a game??
  14. Clutch is 5 career walk off home runs by the man the myth the legend, JOE CREDE
  15. Unless Gload goes about 10 for his next 10 its going to be Blum. I'd prefer Gload, but it ain't going to happen.
  16. Cool chart Tlak. And RD, I give you the approval to go to playoff games. Your luck will change in the postseason
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) I just see those two are always together, and they probably root for each other more than anyone else on the team. However, if Duque is still in the dugout, that changes my thinking a little bit. Hell, I'd assume Frank will be in the dugout or would at least expect him to be. Unless Ozzie doesn't want anyone around for potential distractions? But my guess is you'll see Tim Salmon in the Angels dugout.
  18. I don't know about Viz. He's the one guy out of the pen with a totally rubber arm. He hasn't been too bad since the first month to month and a half of the season and Ozzie has faith in him. I really have no problem with Viz, especially in the horrid instance that we have to go to the pen early in the game cause he can go a couple innings. Of course, as Duque's biggest hater on the board, I will say this, he looked very very very sharp last night. He had great velocity and it made a difference.
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 07:18 AM) That thought entered my mind too. Why would it? Duque is going to be in the dugout, Duque was on the DL and Contreras was still pitching his ass off in August (or I think he was on the DL right around when Count started his hot streak).
  20. QUOTE(TLAK @ Oct 1, 2005 -> 07:07 AM) Take away the double and the single Marte gave up facing 5 batters and he was lights out. Marte's role is more valuable than the one El Duque would probably fill, but if you can't trust him then you can't use him and you might as well not bring him along. Did any else notice in the box that Marte got a hold (he left with the lead) and Hermanson got a blown save for coming in with runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs and allowing one run? Correct scoring but no justice. But you also have to look at the pitch that Victor Martinez hammered. It was basically dejavu to the last time Martinez hammered a double off Marte (in the prior series in Chicago). Both of his doubles were on terrible hitters pitches.
  21. Awesome stuff. I have goldy's wallpaper on one computer and yours on one computer.
  22. I just bought my airfare in
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) Colon's stats aren't that great with the exception of wins. In fact he hasn't even had a great 2nd half. He has gotten a ton of run support. His ERA is 3.48 which is high for a guy contending for the Cy Young. In fact a lot of Buehrle's stats are better. I think this next start for Buehrle will decide the outcome of this thing. This race is still up for grabs. Its Bart.
