  1. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) adam dunn? he can't play the field. and he whiffs about a million times pass on that. And he'll cost Chris Young, Brandon McCarthy and Robert Valido.
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) I think it's possible. One via trade -- Adam Dunn or Chad Tracy. One via free agency -- Nomar. I'll puke if that happens. Nomar = Frank (ie I don't want anyone you can't count on being healthy). Dunn is as over-rated as it gets. Sure he'd be great, but this guy doesn't have a clue how to execute. He went a couple years without a sac fly or something. Pathetic. Resign Paulie..trade for Delgado...keep the rest of the cast in place, add another reliever, deal Duque.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) There better be no damn "smear" campaigns if he does leave. Unless he turns down a 5yr 15 mill per season deal I won't be smearing him. He's one of my all time favorite White Sox. The guy is the epitome of grinder.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) I won't be pissed if he walks, but I'll be pissed if he isn't properly replaced. there is no way the Sox are going to be able to land 2 big time bats in the off-season.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) He just missed it. Ya, and for once Hawk wasn't talking out of his arse when he said that. Paulie has been a bright spot as of late. I'm really glad. I'll be so so mad if he walks during the off-season. I'm sick of how underappreciated he is by a lot of Sox fans.
  6. #40 would be nice here.
  7. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Win tonight and clinch a playoff spot? Its possible, but New York and Boston would have to both lose tonight.
  8. I hope the Sox score 4 runs here and make things easier on us all. I also hope Boston and New York both find a way to lose tonight. The hell with the Sox, I need the rest and a couple days off to get my heart checked up for the playoffs, lol.
  9. Lol, just as I type that AJ rips a single.
  10. I'd pinch hit right here.
  11. TB beats the Tribe...now Chicago needs to get 3 more Tiger outs.
  12. Inning ender...yes I should add, for those of you wanting to go to the pen right there it woudl of been the wrong call. Jose has been pitching great, you stick with him and I'm glad Ozzie did. I figure if we can second guess him and have done so a lot lately we might as well give him credit when he makes the right call (and he did).
  13. Jenks and Cotts up in the pen.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) He didnt have a chance. Agreed
  15. Man tough luck these past two innings. Aside from Polanco's doubles there hasn't been a hard hit ball tonight. Come on Jose...get through this. Inning ender right here
  16. scotty...yes Now come on Guchi...just like earlier in the year, clutch basehit.
  17. RUN RUN PODSY
  18. Juan Uribe hits this one a little farther. I thought he got robbed of his 2nd homer tonight. NICE
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Did he throw 99-100 before and i did not know about it? He was hitting 94-95 all inning long. I saw a couple at 88 but he does that from time to time. Mosto f the time he was in the 94-95 range (like you said).
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Some rather lazy infield defense this inning, and it's put the tying run on 1b. Huh? Uribe did an awesome job just getting to that ball. Contreras pitched well that inning despite the results. I'd have him out there in the 8th as long as his pitch count isn't ridiculous.
  21. QUOTE(Lefty Of Love @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Man, whoever Seth McClung is he is dealing against the Injuns. His ERA was like 6.77 or something in quite a few starts (at least 15 starts IIRC). But if he gets a W tonight I'll be happy. Ill be happier if the Sox win though and happiest if the Sox win and everyone else loses.
  22. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) You know, I agree with SF1. /faints They shouldn't 'celebrate' a wild card berth, yet. Not when the division is up for grabs. What was the goal? Division. Not Wild Card. Get the goal, then celebrate. But I don't endorse shoving my opinion up other people's asses either. Talk to the Hand
  23. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) If the game keeps the same pace, we will be get the whole game in. About 45 minutes ago Hawk and DJ said the rain would be here in about 2 hr's. My gues s is there is about an hr left till the rain comes.
  24. Good pitching beats good hitting as long as a team that has the good pitching has some semblance of an offense. The BoSox have zero chance, imo. If I were a betting man, I'd say the odds of them doing it (unless Schilling turns into his old self real fast) are the lowest of all the teams that will be in the playoffs (with a possible exceptoin to the Padres).
  25. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Everyone missed the joke... Of course, Big Balls is an AC/DC song. I'm much funnier in person. I picked up on it Cheat. But that may be a bad thing
