QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) There are going to be other teams with some good cap space as well. I know Orlanod has Cato and Battie's contract coming off the books plus Doug Christie's, which equlas 20M in cap space. And then teams like the Bobcats as well. And in a weak FA class, the Bulls may get no-ine. But I'd consider them favorites for Peja right now. Umm, if the Bulls play like they did last year, they will be the best team out there with caproom and if we've learned one thing, its that players are going to jump to a team that can win as opposed to a team that can't win. If the Bulls are a piece or two away, you'll see them land those pieces. If the Bulls want a guy and Charlotte and Orlando are bidding this time around, 90% of the players (for a similar price) will be coming to Chicago.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Sam Smith just said that the Knicks are going to cut Antonio Davis right away and the Bulls will get him back (ESPN Radio. I was thinking that may just be what would happen. It would be one of those moves to make salaries even out and than the Bulls would immediately get him back (I know they really like the attitude Davis brings and he is a solid role player). If thats the case thats a great deal for the Bulls considering the circumstances.

Jim Tracy
Dodgers manager was relieved of his duties last night. Hadn't seen it anywhere else, but it wasn't really a surprise. The Dodgers really screwed him over and he'll get another job elsewhere.

Are you playing hookie tomorrow
I know I'll be leaving school after my 2nd class (gets out at 12:45) and will be heading home or to ESPN Zone to catch the game (i'll probably end up missing that class just to make sure I get enough time).

Time for me to get back to studying. Maybe it gets leaked into the press tonight, but Paxson seems to have this one sealed up pretty good (aside from announcing that it was a done deal). Surprised Isiah has yet to say anything.

More from that poster, makes things sound a little better. An analyst in Chicago speculated that originally a holdup was the Bulls wanted to make sure they got some draft picks out of the deal (so they presumed the Bulls will be getting a pick or 2).

The hole could be that the Bulls won't be getting a center in return and that because of that they'll have a hole in there starting lineup which will need replacing. That or a guy like Davis is being shipped back to New York (wouldn't make a lot of sense though). Cause I really couldn't see Pax dealing Noc, Deng or Hinrich. Those guys are all a big part of this team (obviously Chandler and Gordon are going nowhere) and Duhon just signed so he can't be dealt, IIRC.

So you guys are telling me that he has inside connections? We shall see...its gonna be interesting. It doesn't sound like the Bulls got ripped, buti t sounds like they gave up one of their starters or better role players. I don't want to see Deng or Noc dealt.

Curry Traded
This is a post by someone who seems to act like he knows whats going on (no idea if he really does). I don't know if this was announced to a room somewhere but they are just waiting on league approval or something to fully release the pieces?

Here's what I don't get. If Paxson already announced this as a done deal. How come the names haven't come out yet. Have the Bulls been given some sort of list, so that Skiles can talk with Paxson to see just which players he'd want (I'm guessing Scott would have some input and that this deal may of just totally came on like wildfire when something happened between the Bulls camp and Curry's camp). Otherwise I'd think when you announced that he was dealt, you would also announce the new parts and at least sound semi enthused about the new pieces your getting. But maybe this is just one of those situations where the best way to win would of been, Curry passing the DNA test, signing a fat extension and instead the Bulls had to deal him and take on players of lesser talent (although decent).

ALCS tickets on sale Thursday
Not a problem. Gonna merge this into that thread now that you've seen it

I saw someone mention that there is some speculation this deal is larger than just Eddy Curry (and I'm not talking someone like Pargo/Pike, but a better player or so they hinted). This was being mentioned by an admin over at a Bulls board I frequent once in a great while (ie during trade deadline and if there is breaking news regarding the Bulls).

Too bad there ain't squat really out there in next years free agent class. Unless of course they find a way to get Ben Wall out of Detroit.

Which is why it makes sense (for those that realize the idiot that Isiah is) for him to deal his only two players left with expiring contracts for another max contract player that can't play any defense. I could be wrong though but I sure hope Paxson didn't take on any long term deals in this trade.

Aside from Tim Thomas/Sweetney are there any other Knicks players that would look decent over here?

Curry Traded
I think there is gonna be quite a bit of details coming out in the next 24-48 hrs on the type of guy both Curry and his agent is. I mean Curry had his flaws, but his agent is a royal class prick. The Bulls are trying there best to do whats in the best interest of Eddy's health and he has his agent whispering in one ear talking about how much crap there is. I also assume that Paxson got to the point that he didn't want this to be an issue the entire year (Curry's lingering free agency as well as potential hard feelings against the organization) and something obviously spurred him to do it now. Camp starts tomorrow and hopefully the new Bulls players will fit in well and buy into Skiles scheme. If someone could ever teach Thomas how to play some defense it could turn into a good move (if they get Timmy). Who knows what the Bulls will get.

Paxson already gave the press release and he was furious with Curry's camp. You can bet something happened. Considering how upset he is, I have my doubts as to what exactly the Bulls were able to get. I just hope its a couple guys that can help this year and that have expiring contracts.
-
Curry Traded
You can bet it will be Tim Thomas, Sweetney and someone else. This could turn out good for Chicago, but the guys they get in return will have to step up there level of play in Chicago and fit into the system. If they are willing they should be happy to be coming here. I think losing Curry could have a really big impact on the club (especially if Curry was healthy) but with all the risks involved in his situation (and I'm a huge Curry supporter) depending on what they got this could be as good a time as any to move him.

Official NFL General Discussion Thread
Could be me, I picked up Rackers and for some reason it didn't make him my starter (I must of been really zoned out, but I dropped the Jets kicker early last week and replaced him with Rackers thinking it would auto replace since its the same position). Aside from that I had my lineup set early in the week and looked at my team last night thinking what a great move it was picking up Rackers only to find him on my bench. Turns out I got royally hosed, lost by 2 points with him on my bench (do I need to bring up Eli is my backup to Daunte and I had Daunte starting). Luckily I had Fitzgerald and Boldin along with jimmy Smith (all 3 had very good games). But I lost by 2 points when my kicker would of put up 20 plus (6 field goals plus a couple xtra points).

Student commits suicide bombing at OU game
Hard to not make a smart ass remark about the state of Oklahoma's football team. However, I still don't understand what in the hell must be going on in a persons mind to actually kill themselves.
