QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) Weak choice of slides by Carl. It looked like a breakup slide as opposed to a get in quickly slide. His legs were up trying to take out and because of it he didn't get into the back as quick as he should. Like I said a few posts ago, a good slide and he's safe.
-
Widge..do this for qwerty.
-
f*** that was close at 2nd. Great play by Carlos Guillen. I still think he may of been safe (Everett). Saves a run on the play. Everett came in high on the throw. He goes head first and I think he's safe (not knocking just observing) and I'm not saying he should of went head first.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) perfect opportunity and we're gonna f*** ourselves NEVER...Chicago has to take care of business. They will get to Robertson..they will. Hopefully it won't be too late. Well they should at least, this guy is pitching like CRAP.
-
Wow Everett with a single. Maybe an error, but I'll take it.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) It a killer. If this team had an Ortiz or Hafner batting 3rd, this probably would be the most enjoyable season of our lifetims. No doubt, anyone of that magnitude nad this is a world series team. Give the Sox last years offense and I'm convinced were on the way to the Series. I laughed when Hawk blamed the offense for last seasons woes and I still do. I loved the idea of getting more pitching but Uribe/Rowand didn't come around like many of us (myself included) expected them to. When they didn't come through it put a lot more pressure on Jermaine Dye and Konerko. They seemed to live up to it, but they just couldn't do it on there own, especially when Frank went down fully (even though I thought he was way over-rated this year).

I hope Paulie doesn't start pushing for his 40th. Sometimes when guys are on plateau marks they start fishing a bit trying to hit everything out. So far it doesn't look like Paulie's done that, but who knows. Wow Paulie goes down on a fastball in. Really looked like he was expecting an offspeed pitch.

Chicago...tie this one up and than give McCarthy the league. Enough s***, start getting the job done.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) garland and mccarthy both go to the changeup often with a 3-2 count. i wonder if it has somethign to do with the catchers....lets get 2 here offense and give the kid a lead I know one thing...I don't want AJ catching Brandon, only Widge.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) You've been saying all along that we need a number 3 hitter. It's definitely been our downfall this season. Its quite obvious Kenny will need to resign Paulie and find another big time bat for the middle of the lineup this offseason. If he doesn't, it will be a failure of an offseason. It would be like the Cubs not picking up a good closer this past off-season when they knew it was a major hole.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Throw him a changeup...you'll get the whiff and the inning will be over. Its obvious...you should never ever ever throw Infante a fastball.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) Every other ball hit is a rocket!!! There were a couple liners towards Pablo and than the 2 hr's. Maybe I'm watching a different game. I also see guys totally off balance on his changeup. Looks solid to me. As good as his prior outings, no, but still pretty damn good.
-
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) God Damn, Brandon has been solid as of late, but now he pitches against the f***ing tigers and is having trouble. Dude. 2 runs in 4/2/3 on 2 solo shots. The only 2 hard hit balls of the evening. Are you even watching the game?
-
Craig Monroe gives the Tigers the lead. This really f***ing sucks. Sox are getting a great pitching performance and just can't do s*** offensively. I feel awful for Bmac cause next to Contreras he's been by far the best thing going for the Sox and can't buy a victory. Get off your f***ing asses Chicago and score some runs for the kid and the rest of the staff. You can't keep putting this type of pressure on the pitching. When you do they get to the point where the pressure gets to be too much, they start trying to pinpoint and throw shutouts every outing and quite frankly its not possible. What makes this worse is Robertson is throwing like s*** yet the Sox have one f***ing run...one. Get the f*** going Chicago.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) So...all of y'all who were saying that the solution to our problems was to put Aaron in the 3 hole...yeah.... Hey, I just passed 5000 posts. Still far superior than Everett in the 3 spot, imo. Fact of the matter is the Sox don't have a good option for the 3 hole right now (unless they want to move JD there or even Crede at this point). Best thing I can think of is Pablo DH'ing and in the 2 hole and Iguchi sliding to the 3 spot. Pablo can handle a bat and do a decent job in the 2 spot and Guchi would be a solid 3 hole hitter. It may be too drastic of a change though and I can't see Ozzie doing it. That or get Gload some contstant ab's and try him out. He's a good pure hitter, but he's gonna have to get AB's for that to happen (ie it won't happen).
-
What type of catcher is Vance Wilson? I just remember him backing up a couple years for the Mets (I think it was them). Does he have much of an arm?
-
Rowand hit it the same place he did his last AB which was a DP. Rowand, stop pulling the f***ing ball. Hey morons (Sox hitters) watch whats going on. He's living on the outside part of the plate. Take note of what Paulie and Juan have done.
-
I got a feeling that Pods is going to be running during this AB.
-
Guchi hammered it to right field but Ordonez caught it on the track. Uribe tags up. Off the bat I thought that was trouble for the Tigers, but the wind is blowing in (I think thats what the Tiger announers just said).
-
Beautiful bunt by Podsednik. He seems to be getting a little more confidence with his legs cause he's been dropping a few more bunts lately and things are working out. Loved to see him bunting he hadn't been doing it enough.
-
See that....he throws a fastball up and away and Juan does a beautiful job whacking into right for a single. This is a brand new game: 1-1
-
Uribe is back in a funk. When he's not staying back he's a really bad hitter. When he's staying back he's deadly.
-
Uribe finds himself in a hole. 0-2 Buckle down Juan
-
Widger moves the runner over for Uribe. Come on Juanita, tie this game up.
