  1. Totally sweet game. Really enjoyed watching that one from start to finish. And Pods YESSSSSS
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) God...I swear to God...you do not part with a guy who can do this. Not at his age. When you have a guy who can do that you have to get your money's worth from him before he becomes a free agent. There are basically 2 guys in the league who can come in and destroy a team throwing 99 out of the pen...Wagner and Gagne. This kind of talent cannot be replaced. We will not see a guy come up like this from our organization for years. Hey I totally agree with you. Was just speaking in response to what the other poster was saying in regards to some potential strategy in the callup. I think Jenks has the ability to be one of the 3 best relievers in all of baseball, if not the very best. Of course potential doesn't mean sure thing. Still the Sox haven't had a kid with this type of stuff in forever.
  3. Audio Clip of the Shoutout Major Props to Mike for sending this email in and props goes to Kalapse for recording this and sending me the mp3 file of it.
  4. OMG that was beautiful. I'm not annoiting him a god or anything like that, but this guy has the potential to be a major addition down the stretch for the Sox. Of course he's gonna have some games where he blows up (due to command issues). However, the potential is there.
  5. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) For some reason I see KW trying to sell teams that Jenks is the cheap closer that they want to trade a good SP for. SB I'd be hard pressed to give up a guy like Jenks. However, if he pitches like this before going back down to the minors a few more times, you know a heck of a lot of teams will be asking for him.
  6. He just threw a pretty nice hook or slider and Crawford grounds out. Good god I'm loving Jenks. He's still very raw, but you can't teach this type of arm/stuff.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Want to see Jenks drop the curve with 2 strikes. I'm looking for that as well.
  8. Jesus does Jenks fastball just explode into the mitt.
  9. I'm liking it early, but I don't annoit anyone anything after two outings. Of course I didn't dislike the pick like so many others did. I have faith in the Sox scouting department.
  10. Well Jenks is making his major league debut right here. He's throwing gas, but just walked the 1st batter he faced.
  11. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Whomever dropped the email kudos!!!!!! Mike (aka Southsider) that was just a sweet email. I was watching the game with a couple of my buddies at the house and spat water all over myself when I heard the email. Sweet stuff And heres to Mike for sending it and to Hawk and DJ for the awesome shoutout
  12. Well I must of voted about 600 times for Pods. Hopefully all of our efforts help get him in. But now onto the Sox game where Contreras is gonna get things back in gear.
  13. We'll know more about next year when we see what the Sox roster looks like after the trade deadline.
  14. QUOTE(HoosierSox @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) I have Netscape and it does the same thing. If you use the alt code you won't even have to recheck Pods name, all you have to do is put in the verification number.

My dress code is business casual (no ties necessary). However you also have to abide by the other firms dress code (when your doing an audit) so if your auditing a bank your stuck wearing suits quite often.
  16. 100 more in, time to go to the Angel game. Keep doing it fellas, hopefully Pods will get in.
  17. Just put out about 150 more votes Gonna try and get in about 100 more, than its time to go see Santana choke against the Angels

  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) Did Javier Vazquez ever sign a new deal with the Diamondbacks? No, he never had to. He was in the 2nd year of the extension the Yankees gave him. Of course because he was dealt at the end of the year he has the right to demand a trade, per the collective bargaining agreement (IIRC). Of course he seems to be happy in Arizona.
  20. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) The umping has been horrendous from what I've seen this inning. I hate to see it happen except to maybe the Cubs and then maybe I'm just indifferent. It was the same all game. The Twins were arguing calls most of the night, especially their 3rd base coach. We'll see if it works in the matinee game today. I'm pumped to see Johan pitch cause yesterdays game was awfully slow. It was probably the worse 2-1 game I've ever seen (in terms of the quality of pitching). It was still a good game though, especially since the Twins lost.
  21. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:50 AM) Can anyone from Futuresox if he has a 100 mph fastball? I have an oddly good feeling about this guy. Jenks may be the best relief prospect in all of baseball and he definately has some of the best pure stuff in the entire minors. The kids stuff is the real deal, we'll have to see how his maturity and command are at the major league level.
  22. Keep voting...this grassroots campaign needs to continue until the voting is over with. Just added about 90 votes.
  23. QUOTE(Winning Ugly @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) Anyone hear our two aces together on the Dan Patrick show today? I don't care too much for Patrick, but it's all I get at work. Anyways, all the questions he asked the two (the Kenny Rogers all-star deal, who should start the all-star game, all-star snubs) were answered in a "politically correct" boring way. They had Mark Tex on before them from the Rangers and he was helluva lot more entertaining. Where's the excitement, fellas? All signs point to the playoffs and you act like it's no big deal what's happening on the South Side of Chicago... 10 bucks says they got a memo from the Sox after that week of comments coming out from Everett, Ozzie, and Buehrle just before the Cubs series.
  24. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) Who among us, in his position, wouldn't try something new after so many years of failure. Last year, Frank Robinson put a pitcher in the #8 spot in the lineup during one of many Expos slump. Is he therefore a bad manager? And, in closing, how many managers have been traded for a .300 hitter? Larussa has used that same theory in regards to a pitcher in the 8th spot.
  25. Guys, vote the real way. This scripts aren't there just to try and stop people from cheating, they will have scripts set up to check and throw out certain votes. Its definately possible and why risk it.
