One thing about Mohr...he's not as versatile as Timo. I'm by all means not on the Timo bandwagon, but considering the options he's the only guy (along with Willie) off the bench that can play CF. Although you could make the case that you could just move Pods since that is his original position. Still Timo can play all 3 outfield positions and if there is some truth to him playing "slow" last year because he was banged up then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt at the start of the year, but he's got to improve upon some things. One thing I like about Timo is his arm. I hate how he catches the ball though and at the plate, well, I don't necessarily buy into the whole clutch argument but if he hits .400 again with RISP maybe you can buy into it. Career wise Jose V was always a pretty good clutch hitter if I recall (and thats coming from his biggest hater).

Ya, but my understanding was that he would be pitching by midseason in the minors. Who knows though. I hope someone gives him a shot because he was a class act and when healthy had good stuff.

Ya, I'll set something up when I get back from town. We'll probalby set up a NBA Draft board as times get closer. For the time being we'll set up one thread on Monday and merge everything into that related to the draft (in terms of early entries) and pin it on the sports bar.

Also with this new server, some of the features that had not worked or would time out now work. IF anyone notices anything timing out, please tell us because it wouldn't be the result of the server, rather a bug in the coding.

Basically because Widger can handle catchers better. Has nothing to do with the bat, more that Widger is a more experienced catcher. Personally I like Burke behind the plate, but he isn't as experienced as a guy like Widger. We'll see what Widge can do playing every once in a while. One thing this move assures is that Pyrz will be getting a heck of a lot of AB's, imo, so hopefully he hits better during the season then he did in spring. I think he will too...he's gonna be huge for the Sox.

Did anyone claim Danny? I know he's supposed to pitch at some point this year, but dont' recall anyone picking him up after the Sox released him.

Just want to give everyone a heads up. Soxtalk.com is now running on a newer and a million times better server. The specs are insane on this new machine and its got dual processing which will definately help handle the server load better. Who knows how good it will work until we see it running under heavy instances, but here's to hoping we don't blow the server this opening day On a sidenote, were also going to have a new chatroom ready by opening day. It will be up tomorrow but I'm not sure we'll roll it out by then, probably over the weekend (I'll be out of town). Anyway, just want to give Kap a special thanks for taking care of this stuff. Nice move. Didn't he tear something last year? If I recall the injury wasn't arm related. I know one thing, Person always has had good stuff. I don't know if he'll ever pan out, but you never know, he could be of value later on in the year.

They've told Davis they want to keep him, which means $1M for a catcher at AAA. The Sox obviously felt, and I agree with the approach, that catching depth is very important. Makes sense to me. On a sidenote, I just checked my email and from what I know Walker will be in Charlotte. I may of jumped the gun but after re-reading it I'm pretty confident in that.

Here's my thinking. He cleared waivers because the injury is serious right? Well if thats the case why wouldn't the Sox just put him on the DL. My guess is they sent him down hoping someone would be crazy enough to pick him up and take the salary off their hands. They must want to free up some money for midseason and figure now would be as good a time as any. Thats just my assumption. Cause if they wanted him, they would of just put him on the DL (since he's supposedly hurt) and then wouldn't of had to worry. Widger could of been up and the Sox could of dealt with the rest later.

I'm not even going to look into 2nd round matchups. All I care about is the Bulls getting into the playoffs. Once that happens, its time for them to focus on the first round. One game at a time, one round at a time.

Actually I should take it back. I'd have Dwight Howard ahead of Okafor. I think both have such similar numbers, only difference is Howards team is better. I think the vote will be a three headed race (stating the obvious) and who knows who will pull it out. You could make a case for any of them. But Howard always impresses me when I watch him.
