Kind of like how Ronald Curry was an insane qb at North Carolina. Now he's doing a good job in Oakland and could be a possible signing this offseason by the Bears. But its so fun watching those raw athletes that can just create amazing plays where you just shake your head wondering how the hell they can do it.
-
Umm, Curry was one of the big reasons they won and he was out their until pretty much the end. Once it came down to foul time Skiles put all shooters in, which was a good choice. Also Chandler did a nice job on the glass. I still think their was no reason to bench Curry, he played good the game before as well. Had like 21 points tonight.

Ya, UNC couldn't miss. I was just swearing up a storm. Everytime Iowa would create some stops UNC's defense would force turnovers and then bang down 3's. Felton was so quick and did a great job distributing. You guys are gonna have a hell of a year. Too bad you only play Wake once this year. I also got to say something else, I usually don't pay much attention to the announcers, but Bilas and company really made listening to the games enjoyable. -

Well Iowa should still move into the top 25 after a good week. Lousiville and Texas looked good today as well which should help them. I think the game would of been a lot closer had Hansen and Brunner not got into some early foul trouble. I was a little disturbed by the officiating, blowing a lot of ticky fouls the entire tourney. I hope they aren't calling games like this the entire season cause they aren't letting the teams decide it. But damn did UNC look good, they looked explosive and quick. McCants is just a stud. Him and Felton played fantastic. UNC also did a great job defending the Hawkeyes. They showed me enough reasons why they are one of the best 3 teams in the country (Wake and Kansas being the others). -
Flipping Beautiful. Now if only Iowa could of won too.

Taht tells you that the Sox never offered up Konerko or Garland cause the Pirates would of been stupid to not accept it. Although I'm sure the SOx were asking for a lot of cash back too.
-
Actually, he's getting paid decent money so the Sox must like something in him. 100,000 guaranteed and he would make a little over 500K if he made the roster. Thats more then Munoz/Diaz/Baj would be making if they made the roster. Has solid career numbers. I remember the Pads liked him a few years back (if memory serves me right) but I don't remember what or how this guy threw.

Good god, I didn't realize I had near that many posts. Thanks guys for making this a fun place to post

Well KW should be fired if he trades Jon Garland for Nick Johson. If he gets Zach Day or Tony Armas Jr. along with then it would be alright.
-
Jon Garland.
-
That is not that good of a deal for the Pirates, imo. Great deal by Billy Beane though.
-
And a great one at that. I think your idea of RJ and Leiter owns too. Insert Delgado in with that and oooo yah We can dream
-
Trust me, I wouldn't want Everett playing RF, but Delgado is an adequate first baseman. He may be big, but he actually is a pretty solid athlete.
-
This is obviously just a AAA move.

Sox Acquire: Tim Hudson, Carlos Delgado, Nomar Garciapara How: Three way deal with Konerko going to Pitt, Kendall and cash going to Oakland and Huddie coming to the SouthSide. The Sox then sign Delgado to like a 2 yr 16 mill deal with some option years. They then sign Nomar to a 1 yr 7 mill deal. Payroll wise it would essentially fit right into that so called 75 mill payroll. Only weakness this team would have would be the bullpen. But could you imagine: Hudson Buehrle Garcia Contreras Garland Harris Nomar Lee Delgado Thomas Rowand Everett/Gload Crede Davis/Burke
-
Wow thats got to rank as one of the best sigs ever
-
To Point something out. I know many Sox fans were concerned about Nomar's awful road splits away from Fenway park the past couple years when the Sox had acquired him this past offseason. Well if it helps at all, he hit .308 with a .365 OBP and .842 OPS combined last season...although he appeared in just 81 games. Although at 31 he still has some good years ahead of him, imo. However in 43 games with the Cubs he hit .297 with a .364 OBP which was still very solid and would be a definate upgrade in the 2 slot. Just make sure Uribe spells him every once in a while. 6 to 7 mill over 1 year and maybe an option year if Nomar's people want it would be fine by me. In fact, I'd be exstatic. Also his splits this past season were better on the road then home. I don't know his status but he did play in 156 games each of the previous two seasons.

Nah, gets to hot during the summer. California Winter is just perfect. A cool breeze...now if only their would be a little snow. This past weekend it snowed basically to the base of the mountains which was cool, but didn't quite make it to me.

Ya, I kind of thought the same thing. But of course I'm one of the few Harris supporteres on the board
-
The other big thing that hurts Perez is his record, even though in a sense he didn't have that much control over it.
-
Umm, what injury problems is everyone referring to with Clement. We are all speculating that he is hurt or something. I realize he's had some minor injury problems but he throws innings pretty much every year. On the other hand, Odalis Perez, whom I happen to like, has missed starts pretty much every season due to arm troubles.
-
I think they expect to make more money, but until figures start coming in they aren't going to know for sure. I'm sure JR and the other owners have estimates and its giong to be one of those things where they probably make a little less this year while the whole thing grows, but in the end should make the same or a little more while having a lot more freedom.

Nenn isn't going to sign a major league deal. His people have already prepared him for that and he's prepared for that. I feel because this is the case he's going to end up sticking in San Francisco, but I know he lives in the Orange County area (at least part of the time). My best friend works at a physical therapy place that Nenn goes to. But ya, I'd offer him a minor league contract and I'm pretty sure you can still offer him incentives and stuff.

Ya, Omar Minaya is doing pretty much the same stuff every other Mets GM has done lately which is overpay players and make stupid trades.
