  1. ChiSoxFn Short for Chicago White Sox Fan....OOOOH AHHHHHH
  2. Ooh...I didn't even know their was a problem with the forum other then the server was restarted last night. I'm referring to the actual site.
  3. I have been doing some server transferring and what not and am in the process of moving the database. I thought I had it all done, but I've hit a hitch and have to redo the database move because I have some type of bug in the sql somewhere or something that is causing it not to pull up the database correctly. Hopefully I'll have it fixed by tonight and FS will be back online
  4. I don't know, typically 3rd baseman aren't looked at as highly as say an outfielder who is a heck of an athlete. I'd say you'd go with best upside if both are on the table instead of organizational need and a very talented outfielder will typically fetch you more then a very good 3rd baseman, because in general, you can move a bigger, slower type guy to 3rd base and as long as he has a strong arm and good reflexes he could be a decent 3rd baseman. I know 3rd baseman are starting to become better athletes now adays, but if Bobby Bonilla can play 3rd, anyone can However, you won't here a complaint out of me if they got Fields. I'm still high on Schnur though, not that I'm implying the Sox shouldn't draft Fields because of him. I never believe a team should not draft a player because they have a good prospect already at that position. You never know who and what your needs will be when the player develops, there for I always think you should go with the best possible player in your scouts eyes.
  5. Hey rex, have you seen much of Meaux this year? If so, does he seem to be a guy that has potential as a starter or do you feel he will eventually move back to the pen if the Barons ever get a 5 man rotation set up without him. I'm guessing if Wing and Honel didn't go down he would of eventually slid to the pen. I forgot about Yofu getting optioned up. My brain has been sputtering lately, lol.
  6. I'm with you Rex. I also think its stupid that the Sox sent Diaz down if they knew this was a temporary thing. I just wish the Sox would pick one guy and stick with him for at least a few starts. They seem to expect someone to come up and just pitch like an ace from the get go. Their needs to be at least some patience and if they have no faith in these guys to stick with them for a few starts, then they probably should be calling them up in the first place. Ie...they should be getting someone via trade then.
  7. I've been impressed all season with Konerko's ability to work the count and draw the walk. He's done an especially good job battling a pitcher when he's behind in the count. And depsite his low average, I think Konerko is hitting about .385 with runners in scoring position, so he has came up with his fair share of clutch hits. Hopefully he can get his average up though cause he still jams himself too much. Once he does that, with his new found patience, he could turn into a pretty high OPS guy.
  8. By the way, I just want to say welcome aboard
  9. Happy Bday Big Frank and thanks for all the years of Hall of Fame baseball
  10. zirc, you aren't the first person I've heard thats had that problem. The other person that I know did had the start working for him again. I'll ask him what he did to get it to work. Hopefully bobdylan sees this and he can maybe straighten it out and help you get it solved
  11. Usually the chats are bigger during road games. Sometimes I stop in the chats, but usually I follow the game threads more cause I can zone out of game threads and still figure out whats going on, well at least semi.
  12. Fields is supposed to be one of those guys with a heck of a lot of upside.
  13. Seems to of done a solid job everywhere he has went. He's given up less hits then innings pitched everytime in his career and has solid strikeout numbers. Of course the Barons are pretty full pitching wise, but you can never have too many arms I guess.
  14. Alex, whats to trash about the Clones right now. Its not like any of the college sports are going on. But don't worry, I'll still say it before you leave...CLONES SUCK
  15. What would be sick is having Shingo close for a starter that threw hard, very hard. Then in the 8th or 9th you show them Shingo and they'll have to adjust.
  16. Damn, I was thinking with the runner on that it would mean the guy in the hole could tie the game which would make it a save situation. I've never quite figured out when its a save and when it isn't.
  17. I kind of agree. As long as he can keep his fastball in the 85-87 range, he will be a good pitcher. That also assumes he can continue to have good control. I still think his control could be a little better, but I love Shingo
  18. ELO gets the win and Shingo should get his first major league save Unless I missed it and he already has one from earlier in the year. Big game for the Sox
  19. One thing I like is Ozzie shows faith in his pitchers and they seem confident to get out of jams. The thing I don't like is, some games, you should give a pitcher a little less of a workload, especially if you've worked them hard. However, Coops statement that guys could skip their throwing session in between games was interesting. I haven't heard of players doing that before, but then again thats not really something that gets written about. Is this something that was done during the olden days?
  20. leadoff single by Michael Young. This kid is a freaking stud. and ELO, that was a hell of an outing against the best offense in the majors
  21. Didn't Elo pretty much burn out at the end of last season (luckily he heated back up) but he wasn't near as good in general his last 4-5 starts. They aught to turn this one over to Koch and save Elo's arm. He's been one of the hardest worked pitchers all season.
