  1. Crede rips a double, and Paulie is moving. Konerko is safe...he doesn't even slide but he's safe. WOW, I thought for sure he'd be gone 2-1 Sox
  2. Well, I called it 3 curves, and the strikeout. Jose can not hit the curve. To this day I am always puzzled as to why anyone would give him a fastball. He is Sorrano of major league. Give him fastballs and he'll look amazing, curves in the dirt and see ya.
  3. I don't got a good feeling with Jose against Rogers. For whatever reason I'd think his slow curve would really bug Jose. I'd have Willie starting today.
  4. I don't know enough about where each team sees a player to really project anything accurately. I know where some of the players will go but to me the MLB draft is so tough to predict because their are a lot of teams that won't draft particular players for signability purposes and what not. However, I got a feeling the Sox will nab a pretty good pitcher. I just see one of the good guys, possibly Rice's 3rd best starter falling to the Sox somehow. Call it a hunch.

Ya, its the Escape and it pumps up basically the same about of horsepower. Its 150 HP compared to the standar 153 HP version. It also gets about 38-42 MPG up from the 23-26 of the standard version. That is a huge difference especially if a few other SUV companies came out with similar type products. Its not quite a 50% difference but at least a 30% difference. This means if at least a decent amount of people switched the country would be using quite a bit less gas which would increase supply (we know the opec countries would then just cut supply, but its hard for them to do it by that much considering it be the first step towards being more independent).
  6. Exactly. Plus the draft is thin on position players so if the Sox are able to get a stud early on in what is a pitching heavy draft then I see no problem with it. I would like to see the Sox take Hughes with one of their supplemental picks. He is a high schooler that is ranked pretty high from Foothill or something along those lines. I've seen him pitch in a couple games on the local tv station and he's got sick stuff. Great fastball and a very nice sharp curveball. Of course if one of the good college pitchers happens to drop to the Sox, I can't see them passing one up.
  7. I see it as an asset. If the Sox end up having their system filled with too many good outfielders then when the time comes they can move one of them to another team to fill a need. I tend to agree with Cerb, if they get Syzmanski I'd have no problem. He probably has more upside than any of the outfielders in the Sox system (which says a lot) and has the speed to be a potential 2 hole hitter with some sick power. The guy is very fast and very strong.
  8. Your razzing is minor compared to the almighty Alex's Yet I will not lower myself to your guys levels

Well I just did a report on how to improve the Explorer and one of the 1st things that they should do is offer up a Hybrid version of the Explorer. Ford recently paid Toyota big bucks to utilize Toyota's hybrid technology and this would be a great alternative for SUV owners that want to pay lower gas prices. Its giong to take the people really getting sick of something or the government stepping up and making something a priority (which won't happen without people crying for it) before they will make them cleaner and more efficient. My one big knock on Bush always has been the lack of spending on alternative fuel supplies. However much money to fund our trip to Mars (the eventual trip) instead of using that money to solve the energy crisis. This type of plan would have such a strong impact on the economy. I guess Hydrogen is what is going to be used though. Toyota projects within 10 years that their entire lineup will be hydrogen powered and very few vehicles if any will use gasoline.
  10. By the way, I noticed a Deadwood reference and all I got to say is :puke
  11. I watched it last night too. Holy s***, what an awesome epsidoe. That was the best Sopranos episode I've seen in some time. The thing that sucks is they now created all this drama and the season is basically over. Why the hell couldn't they of done this a little earlier and then had a few episodes of the war in New York and what not.

  16. I'd think Rogo should be in Birmingham by the All STar break, but who knows.
  17. Great an entire post about how my grammar is lousy on the board If it helps at all I get good grades in my writing classes and know grammar pretty well.
  18. He's a solid minor league player.
  19. Carlos Lee or Paul Konerko could realistically fit the bill.
  20. Steve Finley is the one player that makes sense. Its his final year so he wouldn't tie up Reed (Who won't be up here this year until September...book it). Then you have Finley a truly great guy, good player, and a vet showing Reed the ropes. Finley won't cost the SOx much anything of a prospect other then say a mid-level guy and thats if the Dbacks pick up a decent part of the contract. I could see the Sox getting someone like him, but not right now. First and foremost I see them adding pitching. Then if whoever they have in CF is failing they will add a left handed bat for there (I think Reed will be given time in AAA, unless he is 100% in which case he could be up here). No to Cameron because the Sox don't need another right handed bat. The Sox need a left handed bat so if they are going to give up prospects or someone decent that is what they should get. Drew wouldn't be bad, but only if the Braves took someone like Konerko and the Sox could stick Drew at 1st where he would be less prone to injuries. Heck, Robert Fick could be a possibility if the Sox wanted a left handed bat later in the year for cheap.
  21. I love Shingo
  22. I think a trade is in the works.
  23. This wouldn't necessarily be an awful deal if the Sox got a good prospect in return as well as utilized the financial flexibility by making another trade, maybe even going after a bigger fish like Carlos Beltran.
  24. I figured this team could make it if a few things happened. It seems like some of those things are happening and I'm glad. I still think in the end if the Sox are going to make a run deep into the playoffs and to help improve their club to make sure they get into the playoffs, they will have to add another pitcher and potentially make a switch to get a left handed bat in here. So far I was right to have faith in Willie, Show and to a lesser stance Uribe. Hell, I even had some faith in Koch.
  25. It was more a case that Dan Evans made a statement that he wouldn't give up any of his top prospects to get a stop gap player. I will commend him for that because Jackson and Hanrahan in particular are very very good arms. I know both haven't hit some minor road blocks but they would easily be the best pitching prospects in the Sox organization. Also, Ching Fen Chen was once a top prospect, but that was a few years ago. Now I think he'll go the road of a minor league free agent and may finally make it up somewhere.
