Knights11 is from Charlotte Also in regards to Stanford and Fullerton....aren't we all forgetting that the smartest person in the world goes to Fullerton- 5/25 games
From what I've seen of Borchard in the few games he's played in the majors, I think he's capable of handling centerfield. He's a better defensive cf at this point then Everett was last season with the Sox, although that doesn't say much. I think he'd be an average centerfielder, but still, he's a good fielder and will make some nice plays. Plus he's smart.- 5/25 games
Good thinking, blame Rex . He told me that Haigwood and Deininger switched names- 5/25 games
Thats very impressive on Borchard. He's always been a better hitter from the left side of the plate then the right side, almost to the point that you could of compared him to Jose Valentin (semi useless against left handed pitching). Its great to see that he seems to be getting everything figured out. Also nice to see Rauch's velocity up. Hopefully he is 100% and when he gets called up (it at least appears he's going to be the one called up) he can make a permanent home in Chicago. The question is whether his velocity was up because he was in the pen (usually a pitcher throws a bit harder out of the pen cause they are only used for a more limited basis) or if he's just getting healthy (definately a possibility). Thanks for the info- 5/25 games
I'm still dissapointed that my Rex Hudler disguise didn't work.- 5/25 games
Unless he knows a different place to pull stats, I don't think anyone would have a clue. I do know that the Sox did move Reed for at least a few days to left (or was it right) so Borchard could play center. It was rather recently too.- This'll give you clownophobia
excellent idea. I just noticed the yellow ones are 20 bucks, screw that- Saturday Starter?
Welcome aboard SoIL. Jim, I don't know if Rauch is throwing the slider anymore. After his labrum injury he stopped throwing it and I had heard mixed reports on whether he's throwing it again or not. Prior to the injury it was considered a plus pitch. That along with his good curveball and solid fastball made him difficult to hit.- This'll give you clownophobia
OMG, I'm a retard. Now the true debate, do I pay 15 bucks for a tshirt- This'll give you clownophobia
Where's the yellow one? I can't find it.- Proposed Deal from a Cubbune Writer..
Man, what I'd give to get Zambrono. Zambrono is a freaking stud.- Cliff Politte
Well Rauch pitched out of the pen today, which may or may not of been to get him in line for the 5th spot. However, that wouldn't make sense, but thats what they did with Diaz too for whatever reason. I guess its to give him a little work until Saturday, but I'd of let him do his usual and then come up on his normal turn on Saturday. Then again, maybe it isn't Rauch.- 17 left on base tonight
But Crede did absolutely clobber that double in the game.- Proposed Deal from a Cubbune Writer..
OH I agree, I think the deal makes sense from both sides to a point. However, I don't quite see how Maggs fits in, even if he is capable of playing CF. But it was basically a pretend trade just to get people interested. Obviously the writer did his job cause we've definately had some good debate in the thread- This'll give you clownophobia
Alright, where the hell do I buy that shirt. That shirt OWNS- Author booed off during stage
A commencement is not the place for someone to get up on their soapbox and push their political views on someone else. I don't give a damn what views they have. I hate it when teachers and other people in positions of authority go out on their soap box yapping when it has nothin to do with anything. Teachers are more then entitled to their opinion, but almost all of my teachers would get up on their soapbox and completely go nuts if anyone had the balls to step up and say something against them. I did it numerous times and I had even been sent to the office on more then one ocassion (this was in highschool and middle school) for supposedly causing a disruption in the class. And to make things short, I never once shouted, yelled or was rude when I made my statements. Sorry but I hate jagoffs that go out and make this big ass political viewpoints in places they don't belong. Since this is a message board, this is the perfect place for me to put this rant I should add that I had one class where the teacher would open up discussion (during the last presedential election) and even though she had different opinions she would say her thing and then always go to the view of a republican right after. THen it would go back to a democrat or a more liberal person. Basically everyone would be able toa dd their own opinion and their would be a little back and forth. The republicans ended up getting a little perspective on their side as did the democrats on their side and the indy's got their say in as well. Everyone came out more educated because they knew where others stood and sometimes peoples opinions would be changed because of it. Now thats the way a discussion is meant to be had. If your not willing to let it be discussed and openly discussed then a teacher should be suspended for bringing it up (Like I say, I don't give a damn if its a republican, independent or democrat). Hell this year in college I had a professor come in to do evaluations and while he was in the only things he would say were talking about how we need to vote Bush out of the office. A few people tried to make a statement and he told htem to shut up and run for president because they could do a better job then Bush (albeit it was funny, it was further proof of a professor only pushing his agenda). I also had a class where a republican would push his views. I may of agreed with him but he was a dick none the less.- 17 left on base tonight
Most of which seemed to be with two outs. Plus Jose was an absolute hole in the lineup. It was just as bad as having Randy Johnson in the 6 hole. Hey come to think of it, he could provide some left handed pop and solve our starting pitching problem- 17 left on base tonight
I'll take this game over a 3 hit game. The Sox got their hits, the problem was they just didn't come in the clutch. They hit the ball hard all night and went up against some good pitching and to me had at least a few tough luck outs. It happens, the teams offense stayed hot and thats what makes me happy.- Cliff Politte
I just know as of late it seems like every outing he is giving up runs.- Proposed Deal from a Cubbune Writer..
I'd agree with you that Clement isn't as good as he is pitching although I would say that you could debate the fact that Clement does posess front of the rotation stuff. His slider is sick and his fastball/sinker has good life on it. Even though he's a two pitch pitcher, both of his pitches are excellent and are tough to get hit hard. He isn't a #1, but I think he's a good #2. I also don't see the Cubs giving him up, although their has been a lot of speculation (especially early in the year) that the Cubs would be willing to deal him. That was before Wood and Prior went down though.- Cliff Politte
I'd say when the Sox call up their next starter, it may be Politte that gets sent down (if he clears and I don't see why anyone would pick him up).- Proposed Deal from a Cubbune Writer..
Lol Brando, I'm so used to debating you that I forget we actually agreed for once on Perez. I think me and you were his two biggest backers- Proposed Deal from a Cubbune Writer..
Umm Brando, Perez has arguably been the best starter in the DOdgers rotation. He's been very impressive with a 3.32 ERA. I was a big proponent of getting Odalis and its looking like he would of been a very good pickup.- Why did maggs get pulled???
Hawk just said he had no idea on what happened to Maggs. - 5/25 games
