  1. That is weird. I'd just restart the computer and try again. That or the website has some type of download/save protection on the picture, which is a remote possibility.
  2. Agreed and I was considered a Rowand backer.
  3. Agreed, for 1000 bucks I wouldn't even consider it. Screw that, Tatoos are way too permanent for me. Plus I hate needles.

    "Whiplash"

    Hope you get better Steff.
  5. I consider myself diehard, although I do miss a couple games and will turn them off if they are getting their asses whooped.
  6. Helton is awesome and if the Rocks would pick up some of the tab and take one some of the Sox bad contracts, then it would be an interesting option. I still don't see hit happening. But Todd is a heck of a player.
  7. Well in Carlos defense he's been much more patient this year. The only flaw is he's not hitting as good with this new found patients. I also think Konerko has been pretty patient this year. The problem is both have sucked at getting any what of a big hit. My thinking is that Lee is a very good hitter in the 2 hole. He'll produce like a madman their and will really inflate his trade value if the Sox want to move him and if they don't, he'll help the offense quite a bit.
  8. Great Stuff Baj. Definately appreciate the time you spent to answer the questions. Keep kicking some ass and best of luck to ya "manhands"

    Happy Birthday

Happy BDay to the two of you. You guys are both badass people that crack me up at times. Hope you have good ones
  10. But I love Lee in the 2 hole. He's a great two hole hitter for the Sox and Uribe going down kind of keeps a hot bat and speed in the lower portion of the order as well. Plus the Sox now have Gload and Jose down in the order which gives them a bit more balance from the left side.
  11. I'd move Konerko and eventually move Jose, but this would be my lineup until those things happened. I could give a damn what I got in return for either of them. Even if all the team got was a little payroll flexibility, fine by me (especially in the case of Konerko).
  12. Early in this draft I want pitching, pitching nad more pitching. I'd think the Sox will go heavy on college pitchers too. Then I think you'll see them look for a few toolsy middle infielders that have leadoff like potential and grab a 3rd baseman.
  13. He's going to undergo an MRI and I don't buy that they'd put him on the DL for something to do with his ego. I root for DW big time cause everything I have ever heard is that he is an amazing guy who works his ass off to make it with the Sox. He's never gone down to AAA and sulked, he's taken it as a learning experience and a way to get better. I think he's hurt a lot more serious then we believe and he may of been hurt for a while (I think the injury at the start of last season was more serious then anyone thought). I'll be pulling for DW!!!!
  14. I'd bench Konerko and have Gload play. I'd hit Uribe in Konerko's spot and have Jose hit in the 2 hole. That or I would go with Harris Lee Thomas Maggs Jose Juan Gload Crede Olivo/Sandy
  15. I wouldn't have one problem with that trade JD. Although I think Livan's contract is a risk at 3 yrs and such, but we do unload Paulies and get a good young 1st baseman. Meaux probably is a reliever prospect at best (he's really went into a funk in the rotation), while I don't like Rauch (although he probably has some trade value based on sheer hype from a few years ago) and Borchard is a great guy who will be missed, but has struggled.
  16. One thing I should add is that I have no idea the type of player Diaz is emotionally. I'm hoping he's strong emotionally and won't let the 1st two outings bother him. Some pitchers can come up, get clobbered, and shrug it off as a learning experience, while others take it as an omen that they suck and don't belong in the show. I'm hoping Diaz will take this as motivation to improve and hopefully he'll flash his potential and poise in his next outing and if he ends up going down, hopefully he'll know what he needs to work on and address those needs. Diaz seems like a good guy. The Indians announcers were mentioning something about him being really nice, but I was kind of zoned out cause it was killing me to watch the game And if Diaz or any pitcher can't take a few horrible outings in the majors then they will never make it. You need to be tough mentally to get through the adversity of baseball. You do good, they make adjustments, you struggle, you make adjustments and it just keeps continuing. Then eventually you adjust before they even adjust or you get so good that you have so few flaws that as long as you stay within your game they can't beat you (ie Bonds, Pujols, Arod).
  17. Screw Rauch; Cotts, a trade, or Grilli if Diaz struggles again. I don't think Rauch will ever get a shot with the Sox, just my 2 cents. But yes, I think Minny will be the last straw if he struggles.
  18. I can't stand Rauch so I wouldn't even think about it, even though he pitched a good game against the Twins back in 01 or 02, whenever it was. Personally I'd leave Diaz up here and let him pitch until the Sox make a move or decide to call up Wunsch and move Cotts to the pen. He was great in AAA and his 1st start he was rolling minus the 4 hr's (he definately leaves his offspeed stuff up) and last game he was on 3 days rest against the 2nd best offense in the AL (he even showed some stones as he settled down after having horrific 1st and 2nd innings and even responded well to all those errors). I got a hunch we'll see Diaz step up and pitch decent, although I really want to see Freddy Garcia on the south side. I think Rauch is lazy and he seems to be expecting to be called up based on his former reputation as a prospect instead of just pitching his ass off. I'd rather see the Sox call up Grilli.
  19. Just put a your company here tatoo on your ass and see how much you can get Also, when I herad about this a few weeks ago I almost fell out of my chair. The best part was him giving his wife 500 bucks to see it.
  20. The weird thing is Jim your right. Sometimes his heater had absolutely no life and other times it had Colon like life (not Colon like velocity). One of the first things I noticed were hitters were flat sitting and ripping his fastball. Good pickup on him falling off the mound and I did notice he was showing the ball quite long. Also, he was throwing too many fastballs early and not mixing his pitches. I'd let Olivo catch Buehrle or Scho one of these days and let Sandy catch a game or two for Diaz.
  21. For some reason I thought last year was his final option, but maybe I'm wrong.
  22. I didn't say I'd do the trade above. However, the above trade would free up some payroll. I think the first thing the Sox have to do is find a way for Harris and Uribe to play every day. Whether that means moving Valentin, then so be it. I also think they need to get rid of Konerko. I fully believe that Gload is easily capable of putting up a .270 AVG, with some pop and some clutch hits. Plus he provides a left handed bat in the back of the order. Therefor I'd work incredibly hard on a Konerko/Jose for Garcia and Wynn swap. If I can't get Wynn, so be it, maybe get Olerud and have him show Gload the ropes but also get Gload time. Olerud would also be a solid fit like so many have said. I'd also add a very good prospects like Rauch or Borchard to the mix and would even consider giving up someone like Andy Gonzalez if they in fact wanted him. Still, if you can do a Konerko/Jose for Garcia and Wynn you end up basically keeping contracts the same, although I can't possibly explain why the Mariners would do this. I think in the end they would have to get Lee, which still means the Sox have to move Konerko. In this instance I'd do everything I could to get Sean Casey for Konerko, although who knows if you could convince the Reds to do this. Either way get Konerko and Jose out of here. Let Gload play 1st if possible and then Wynn or Reed in the OF.
  23. But Rauch is out of options, so if he is put up on the roster then it has to be a permanent move. I think thats why the Sox aren't even thinking about him right now. They want him to be blowing hitters away before they even give him a chance.
  24. His heater went from 88 to 93. The odd thing was, at 93 his fastball had way more life then at 88. The few times I saw him really fire, he really had a damn good fastball cause it had some sick action to it. He also had a nice slider, when he didn't leave it up. It seems like he just has to continue with perfecting a consistent release point on his pitches, especially the breaking pitch. I also think he may still have a little strengthening left to his arm, since he didn't really start all that much last season (I think he had like 18 starts in the minors, off the top of my head).
  25. The bigger picture is Toronto wouldn't take on these type of contracts, imo. However, I do think Lilly is the type of pitcher that could be a decent fit.
