  1. That could make some sense. Good deal for the Dodgers if you ask me. I think Delgado is a better player.
  2. I didn't have a clue why he left. The person on the radio acted as if he was pulled because they were close to a deal.
  3. Majewski has been on fire.
  4. As long as Graves keeps getting Saves I'll be happy. He's the only closer I got
  5. Just heard on the radio that Delgado was pulled early on in the Angels-Jays game and that the Dodgers are in serious discussions to acquire Delgado. I have no clue who the DOdgers would be giving up, but I'd guess that Edwin Jackson will be one of the pieces.
  6. U just need a little more alcohol in your system. Then your post totals would increase
  7. Hudson should would look good wearing black Sox :lol (reference to that commercial). CC would look damn good wearing a crooked Sox hat
  8. Arow should start only against lefties until he proves he can hit righties worth a damn this season.
  9. Thats about where I sit in Anaheim We got great taste Vine
  10. If I were the Cubs I'd rather get Beltran or some type of left handed bat. I'd probably invest money on trying to get a shortstop as well. The Cubs are too right handed dominate. HOwever, if they could move Sosa then Maggs would be an amazing replacement.
  11. I sometimes make that comparision, but its not one I like because Erstad is probably one of the most overrated players. He's living on his one special season and other then that (Injuries are at least partially to blame), he's been a mediocre offensive player. However, he's one of the best defensive outfielders in the game (of course his agressiveness has put him on the DL and now moved him to 1st). They do in fact have similar tools though. Neither one is amazing at one area, but they are good across the board and are smart players.
  12. I'd agree with you, even though there are a lot of what ifs. Thats the thing, baseball is partially a game of luck, and it will take a little bit of luck for the Sox to win it all, but string it together with a GM putting the pieces out there for it to happen and a manager doing what he can to get the team to win and you will see the Sox attendance slowly rise. The Sox have played good baseball for a while, the key is playing special baseball to the point people really get EXCITED over the Sox. How do you do that, by getting in the playoffs, having a team thats fun to watch (comebacks, etc), and by having players the fans relate to and like. I think the Sox are close and have been for a while, its just the team gelling enough where they start making the playoffs and hopefully going deep. If they can do it for a few years, this franchise may be in a position to really take off, especially with all the talent in the lower levels.
  13. I could definately see someone offering that if it wasn't for Beltran already being on the market. Mix that with the fact that Alou will be out there (I think his contract is up and he is having a pretty damn good year) and for some reason I also think another good outfielder or two will be available. This means that while Maggs will be one of the best players out their, there will also be a few cheaper alternatives possibly pushing his price down. The worse thing that could happen would be Beltran resigning before the offseason because then Maggs becomes the best outfielder in free agency, but if he has a player or two to overshadow him, then it makes it a little easier for the Sox. For example if their had been a Javier Vazquez or a few other pitchers out there along with Colon, I truly think Colon would of stayed a Sox.
  14. Well, I think what they are implying is that the UPC codes are messed up. Jugg said he tried using his and they were coming up expired. I'm guessing the Sox are having a problem with the program that does it or something. If it wasn't for their being a mistake by the WhiteSOx, I would agree, that people should just by the Pepsi. But like Jugg said, he had Pepsi's and I'd think almost every one of us has boughten our fair share of Pepsi's.
  15. I'd say Damon is a pretty fair statement. He's not as fast as Damon, but has a better arm. Damon probably has one of the worse outfield arms in the majors. I even think Carlos LEe could out throw him Also I don't know how much Damon walks, but Reed should have a pretty good OBP in the majors, regardless of what his minor league numbers would tell you this season. Because he isn't as fast as Damon, thats why I'd slot him as a 2 hole hitter.
  16. I'd step up the offer a little bit. I'd give him about 6 year 72 million and I'd say thats fair. Maggs takes a little less per year to get the 6 year deal and the Sox put up a little more in guaranteed money to get him to fit better in per year terms. The Sox keep one of their best players in franchise history and after Frank retires he will become the face of the organization. Plus, Maggs is a great guy and I think/hope the Sox new PR guy will do a better job marketing Maggs.
  17. Well, I'm going to go a few farther. Boomer, Parque, Eldred...all three were definately missed and hampered the staff. You could also go to Howry and Simas who both got hurt and lost a ton of velocity and then of course Lorenzo Barcelo. The Sox pitching staff was basically desimated with injuries.
  18. I happen to like Wood and Prior. Its too bad Baker is going to absolutely ruin them and possibly Zambrono as well. I know one thing, I'd love to have any of those three on the southside.
  19. I saw where he said the Sox are offering 6yr 68 mill. No idea how true it is but I know many have said that Corg knows some people within the organization. If it is true I'd say thats a good deal for the Sox and its long enough where Maggs may consider taking less money per year.
  20. I think 15-20, but 10-15 sounds about right as well. I think of him as a .300, 15, 20-30 SB, decent amount of RBI and solid defense. I just think he'll be a great two hole hitter and a valuable asset.
  21. The weird thing is they play the Angels again at the Cell like two weeks later. The true dillemma comes on SEpt 12th when they play the Sox at 1:00, but the Bears open that day as well.
  22. Holy crap, you were right. My bad...I have a bad memory of things like this. I just remember so many Sox losses. I know someone got clobbered that series cause that was the only game they won and I was thankful that I at least saw it.
  23. That was so sick. I was talking to a friend and when hte count was 0-2 I was like alright, now watch...this is why this guy is SICK. Then he throws that change at 58 MPH....HOLY crap.
