To break the 4 way deal down a little more: The White Sox essentially acquire Nomar Garciapara, Johnny Damon and Scott Williamson for Magglio Ordonez, Billy Koch, Aaron Rowand and a prospect. The White Sox then trade Paul Konerko and Nomar Garciapara for Darin Erstad, Jarrod Washburn, Ben Weber and Adam Kennedy. If I were the Sox, I'd be thinking they could get a little better value for this and try to ask for Krod instead of Weber. I don't know if the Angels would bite, but it would be interesting to say the least. I always realize that the Angels would in fact be adding salary since Konerko is going there as well as Nomar. They are adding 18 million and giving up roughly 17 million. This seems like a deal the Angels would make though. So the Sox deal: Paul Konerko, Magglio Ordonez, Billy Koch, Aaron Rowand and a prospect Sox receive: Johnny Damon, Darrin Erstad, Adam Kennedy,Jarrod Washburn, Scott Williamson, Ben Weber Ultimately the Sox deal a rf, closer, cf, 1st baseman and a prospect and get two cf's (Erstie and Damon), a good starting pitcher, two quality relievers, and a second baseman. After doing this deal if I were the Sox I'd sign Raul Mondesi to play right field and let Erstad and Thomas platoon at 1st/dh.

I searched through a ton of your posts and I think somehow I deleted some of hte posts from the test board and yours was one of them. I'll give it a few more shots though . Does your buddy still have it on his computer by any chance?

I'm gonna run a check tonight and see if he's with anyone. Do I just send this letter to the stadium with ATTN Kenny or Wilder on it?

Supposedly Nixon is about to sign a 6 or 7 mill a year deal and if him and Damon are making the same, I'll go with Damon. He can play cf and is a very good leadoff hitter, something that the Sox direly need. Plus with Nomar in the middle of the lineup, he will fill in admirably for Maggs and Williamson is a pretty solid reliever. After that if the Sox could somehow pick up another starter, I'd say they'd be in pretty darn good shape

By the way steff, just fixed your sig As far as Erstad at 1st, he can play it. Then again the Sox could play him in rf with Damon in cf and let him DH part time with Rowand filling in. But Erstad is a good first baseman.

Well, that 4 way deal may be something the Angels would do. They give up Washburn, Weber, and Kennedy but thats enough salary to offset the addition of Nomar Garciapara and then Eckstein would move to 2nd base. The Sox end up taking on a lot of money: -Damon makes like 7 mill - Williamson at 3.25 mill - Erstad makes like 8 mill - Washburn will make 5 or so - Weber around a mill - Kennedy at 3 mill That means the Sox take on 27.25 million, give or take 2 mill (I'm going off salary numbers from my head so I may be wrong) Sox give up Magglio - 14 mill Konerko - 8 mill Koch - 6 mill So the Sox give up 28 million. This move ultimately saves them a little cash although they take on two pretty large long term contracts in Damon and Erstad. Of course a top of the order with those two would be dynamite with Lee and Thomas around that. The rotation would be stronger and the bullpen would be very strong with the additions of Williamson and Weber. Now lets look at the other scenario. The Sox deal Magglio and Koch which are worth 20 million, plus a prospect. They get Williamson (3.25 mill), Nomar (10 mill), and Damon (7 mill) in return. Thats roughly 20.25 million. Once again my figures could be a little off. This deal makes sense though, cause the Sox now have a leadoff hitter, they have the bat in the middle of the lineup to replace Magglio and they get a pretty darn good reliever at half the cost of Koch. I could even see the BoSox doing it, because they dump a bad contract in Damon. This BoSox-White Sox trade doesn't seem so far fetched cause Boston is going to have to move Nomar if a deal goes down and if the Sox are willing to stay about 4 mill over budget, then this is definately a solidfying move and KW still only has one hole in the outfield (RF - where Reed or Rowand could play). Of course the Sox now move Jose to 2nd or could somehow try and deal him for an OF). I could buy into this, this definately makes some sense.

Interesting Rumor
Well Wolf did win 16 games last year and in the two years prior to that he had ERA's in the low to mid 3's. He also has some pretty high strikeout numbers for a lefty.

Bears Hire Shea as their new OC
Oh ya, I know that, but their actually receiving core was pretty weak when you think about it. That system made those guys a lot better. I think the Bears have some of the offensive weapons, but they need Grossman to step up, the line to be accurate and they will definately need major production from some of their young wr's.

Bears Hire Shea as their new OC
Remember, Eddie Kennison was one of their better recievers. If they could turn Kennison into something decent, then Dez could be a superstar afterall

I have no idea if he's with another organization, but if he isn't, the SOx should give this guy a minor league contract and let him play centerfielder. I saw this guy make some of the best throws I have ever seen in my life during a short stint he had with the Angels. He came out of the Rockies organization and was thought of as a pretty good prospect, but he struggled to hit and eventually moved to the Angels where he lasted for only a short time, but in that time I saw him gun two guys out and both times they were throws where me, my dad and my buddy that were at the game just dropped our jaws. Since then we always comment on how we've never seen a throw like that one and the sick thing is, he did it twice. I happened to notice he was creaming the ball down in the Puerto Rican league: .320 AVG, .445 OBP, 6 HR, 29 RBI, 21 BB, 19 K, 8 SB in 103 AB This guy is my recommendation as a big time sleeper

OMG....
Ramirez was always productive when he came up with the Angels the two years or so. Too bad he never developed as much of a hitter with the Sox, cause all his other tools were "plus".

Damian Moss
I think it would of been a good pickup, simply because he had some pretty good production with the Braves. I realize there is a change between the AL and NL, but its a risk worth taking, imo. Considering they gave Person 500K guarantee, whats another 800 K to get Moss guaranteed. But I don't have a problem with Person.

Sox Top 10 Prospects
Then you will be impressed. Gload has a sweet, short, compact swing and is a pretty slick fielding first baseman with a little speed. If he was 3 inches taller, he'd of been playing in the majors a long time ago. I think we'll get very solid production out of Ross. I wouldn't rank him on the list, but its mainly because I no longer consider him a prospect.

Sox Top 10 Prospects
1. Jeremy Reed 2. Neil Cotts 3. Kris Honel 4. Ryan Wing 5. Brian Anderson 6. Joe Borchard 7. Emencio Pacheco 8. Jon Rauch 9. Ryan Sweeney 10. Brandon McCarthy Honorable Mention: Arnaldo Munoz, Fabio Castro, Orionny Lopez, Todd Deininger, Felix Diaz, Robert Valido, Richard Nanita, and Chris Young (That list is in no particular order). Of course that won't be FS's Top 10 (It is my top 10 though), but we should have our top 50 released on February 15th when we have the grand re-opening of FutureSox

I think it has to deal with the fact that he's 35. I know the Padres supposedly offered him more money as well.
