Well if Sex wasn't shunned upon in our society, teens could much easier go to the Savon or 7 Eleven and feel comfortable picking up a pack of condoms because they are going to have sex. Of course too many people I know never were willing to do that because they worried too much about seeing someone they knew or getting pressed about it. Luckily none of them knocked a girl up, but it could of. Me, I didn't really care, better safe then sorry and I do not think abortion is something I would do, but I give a women the right to chose. If I messed up and knocked the girl up, then that is something I would have to face, whether I am ready or not and personally, I don't think I could tell my girl to have an abortion or anything like that because it seems wrong. But I'm not going to force my opinion on others who feel differently. But for partial birth abortions, I didn't have a problem with banning those, because that type of abortion should only been done in situations where the women could die due to consequences of having the child.

LMAO...cat is so 80's, I think the two of you are just out of the times. You should of said, who is this new dog we signed

If this was the beginning of the offseason, I would of signed Jose to a 1 yr deal worth 3.5 - 4 million. I would of then dealt Paul Konerko and 4 mill cash (2 mill each season) for Odalis Perez. I think under those circumstances, the Dodgers would of pulled the trigger on the deal. I would of then moved Billy Koch and 1-2 mill for David Weathers. These two moves essentially save the Sox 3-4 million, which puts them near the budget. Since Bartolo Colon no longer became an option (it would of been my main goal to sign him, but no way could they of touched the Angels offer) I would of then worked on adding Jarrod Washburn to the rotation. I'd dangle Carlos Lee for Jeff DaVannon and Jarrod Washburn. The Sox save roughly 2 million in this move and now are under budget. I would of signed Buehrle long term and then would make my pitch to add Kerry Lightenberg and Politte to the bullpen. This would cost the Sox roughly 2.5 mill, maximum. Next up, I would of dealt Jose Valentin to the Mariners for Carlos Guillen when the opportunity arose, saving the Sox another 2 to 2.5 million. Then I would of added Desi Relaford for cheap, and given Willie Harris the shot to get 2nd base. The Sox now have there infield, because I would of signed Fullmer for 1.25 million or so and let him and Thomas platoon. I would of then looked at someone like Jose Guillen to play in the outfield at 3 mill and would of signed Magglio to a new 3 yr deal worth 33 million dollars, saving 3 million this year or at the most 4 yr 44 million. Rotation Buehrle - 4 mill Elo - 4.5 mill Washburn - 5 mill Garland - 1.5 mill Odalis Perez - 5 mill Total Rotation = 20 mill Bullpen Marte - 1 mill Weathers - 3 mill Lightenberg - 1.5 mill Wunsch - 750 K Wright - 500 K Politte - 800 K Total Bullpen = 7.55 Lineup Harris - 2nd (400 K) Carlos Guillen - ss (3 mill) Frank Thomas - dh/1st (6 mill) Magglio Ordonez - rf (11 mill) Brad Fullmer - 1st/dh (1.25 mill) Jose Guillen - lf (3 mill) Joe Crede - 3rd (700 K) Jeff DaVannon - cf (500 K) Miguel Olivo - C (500 K) Total Lineup = 26.35 million Bench: Aaron Rowand (500 K) Juan Uribe (750 K) Sandy Alomar Jr. (800 K) Ross Gload (350K) Total Bench = 2.4 mill Total Salaries = 56.3 Add Cash Given in Trades (Konerko 2 mill; Koch 1 mill) Sox Total Budget = 59.3 mill Now this is 1 mill over the 58 mill budget, but considering right now they are 4 mill over and some reports have the budget as high as 60 mill, I Think this is a realistic scenario and its one that doesn't involve trading a fan favorite. The Sox lineup still has pop, the pitching staff is very strong, the bullpen is solid (not spectacular) and the bench has depth, but has its weaknesses, but those could be addressed via trades later in the season. The only weak spot in the lineup is Willie Harris, but you could add someone like Desi Relaford to provide depth.

Person isn't a catcher, but he is a pitcher. Person won 15 games a few years ago and has pretty good stuff. He's one of those guys that never really met his potential and then had some arm trouble. If he is healthy he could turn into a quality right handed reliever in the pen. Considering the Sox budget, he was a solid pickup and they will probably pickup a few more players like him.

I don't think you have to worry about your friendship. If you ask and she doesn't feel about you in that way, then thats that and you friendship will still survive. Now if you tell her your deeply in love with her and she doesn't feel that way, then I'd say different. I mean if you think this is a person you'd like to get to know and you want to get into a serious relationship that could last some time and go somewhere, then I say why not, go for it. But if your not at that stage, then I don't think a long distance relationship is what you want. Like chisoxygirl said, it depends on what you want and of course what she wants.

Great post Baggs.

I agree, i've liked what he said. Angelo is now on the podium saying he has full control of 53 and said how happy he is to be the Bears GM. But your right, seeing Smith up there, makes me feel a lot more confident.
-
Manning, but I don't overlook Brady. Brady is a very good quarterback and is a winner, but Manning is a winner too and he's really improved this year. Thats not to say that Manning will win this Sunday, cause my pick is the Patriots.

Conference is cool...thanks for this feed Cheat.

Well the fact that Herm Edwards has a lot of the same characteristics as Lovie Smith makes me happy. Edwards is a very good head coach and I'm starting to think Lovie Smith will be too. His defense really played agressive with the Rams and you have to think about how much better it would of ranked, had it not been on the field so much. Yes, the Rams were high scoring, but they also rarely ran the ball and didn't really dominate in the Time of Possession. They also turned the ball over a whole lot. I think the fact that his defense ranked as one of the very best in forced turnovers and defensive td's is one reason to really like him. And as far as the Bucs dline coach, he's supposed to be a pretty sharp guy and I think could become one of the next hot assistants, after a few years as a DC. The question is whether or not he comes to the Bears or Jets cause he has ties with both Edwards and Smith.

I read it over on www.nflfans.com/bearstalk, otherwise my cousin from chicago calls me up when there is big Bears news. He knows out here I don't get much of it, lol, plus then he will make fun of the Sox (of course he's a Mets fan...which just means your as crappy as the Sox, but you spend 100 mill). I think Linehan has done a really good job, but you do bring up a good point, without Moss how effective would that offense be. There really isn't a reciever in the NFL that can make the catches he makes on those bombs. Justin Gage looks promising, but he doesn't have anywhere near the speed or playmaking ability of Moss (Man was i pissed when the Bears didn't draft him). This O'shea seems good. Some people have concerns that he isn't very qualified, but when you look at his accomplishments and compare them to what Al Saunders had done before becoming the Chiefs OC, you could say that Shea had way more experience then Saunders. Shea could turn into a pretty damn good OC. I also saw where Olsen wants to talk to Lovie Smith and Angelo to see whether they want him on the new staff. Olsen is going to recieve an offer from Mariucci today, but it would force his wife to switch jobs (She's like a big shot at Purdue or something) and although he really wants to work with Mooch, I think if the Bears said we want you back and we want you hear for the next 4 yrs, that he would be back. The Bears also want to retain Vance (Don't remember his last name) but he is the defensive backs coach. Anyone heard whether Dent is going to be brought back? And thanks for that link..I got to put the speakers on quiet at work so I can hear the press conference . Does it start at 2 central??

I'm guessing Smith wanted to go his own way. I also think Blache probably feels a little hurt that he wasn't even given the opportunity to interview for the HC gig. To me they both run different systems, so it makes sense for Smith to bring his own guy in, of course Smith has no control over the staff as JA has full power over the coaches and player personell.

Well Boras is acting as if he has offers for 10 mill a year long term, but I think we all know he's full of crap.

Early in this offseason, the Sox could of rebuilt and got this team ready. Right now though, it seems like most of the trade routes have closed, with exception to the Dodgers who will not do anything until the sale is finalized. This leaves the Sox with crap to do, imo. Kw had his opportunity early in the offseason to jump out and make the moves. Of course from what was reported, he had big plans after the Nomar deal...but I still find that hard to believe.
-
Its reporting that Blache was dismissed by the Bears. They will now focus their attention on the Bucs defensive line coach (Problem is, Herm Edwards is after him to be the next DC for the Jets) and the Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator.
-
The Bears would have the money to sign one of those guys, I'd prefer Winstrom. Although I think the Bears will sign a cb and maybe go after Tait (OT) from Kansas City. As far as coordinators: Offensively it looks like it will be O'Shea (KC's qb coach) or the Rams qb coach, Fairchild. There was also some speculation that Linehan (Vikings OC) could be coming, but I don't know if thats legit. As far as the DC's go, Blache was fired today, and right now they want Marabili (Bucs Dline coach; excuse the spelling) or the Arizona Cardinals DC. Things could change though.

JD, its a real blast. I think I've went for the past 6 or 7 years. Its my dad and I's father-son trip. Arizona is really nice. We usually stay down in the Tempe/Phoenix/Scottsdale area and drive up to Tuscon and catch a few Sox games, but we also check out some other games when we are there and at least one Angel game. The stadiums are nice, you get to watch bp (Which is one of my favorite things to watch) and you get to see a lot of the younger players, which I think is really cool. If your into autographs, you can easily pick up quite a few of them and the atmosphere is just really relaxing. And at night, Arizona is really nice, the weather is great during March and there are plenty of good places to get food, hang out and do whatever else. Its a whole lot of fun.
-
Well, I think under the current situation, it will be pretty difficult right now. I'd look to get players that could help the Sox this year, but my goal would be to improve them next year and in years down the road and get this team in a position where they will be fine financially. I think KW has a hard task at hand though, because he's going to have to deal Maggs and at least Konerko to get things rolling and that seems very difficult.
-
I actually think the opposite cheat. While your right in highschool I'd of definately voted the same way you said and now my feelings on the subject, just a few years later, are the way you feel in that I'd oppose the ban. Still, I think older generations are more prone to be less forgiving on the subject, just my two cents. Just like on the issue of race, I think our generation are less likely to be as racist as previous generations, just like the generation thats younger then us, will be less likely to be racist then our generation.

s***, I'm gonna check that out Donkey. When your on standby do u just sit around getting paid and if someone needs help then they come on and then your wage jumps up 2 bucks an hour. Is it kind of like create your own hours too?

Agreed...I'm waiting to see if the rumors are true and they are going to steal Linehan away from the Vikes.

Its been moved to the sports bar. Anyway, I'm interested in who he's bringing in as the coaches.

What are the White sox value pages? If so, thats a pretty nice profit. -
Huh, Steinbrenner is part of the comittee that owns the Bulls??? I thought the same investment group owned the Bulls and White Sox, but I don't follow that too much.

Joe always was supposed to have a good eye for the strikezone, he just had a very long swing with a big hole and that hole has never been fixed.
