  1. The Sox will be involved, because Boston wants Magglio. Whether we directly swing a deal with the BoSox and then keep Nomar and Williamson or swing a secondary deal of Nomar to the dodgers, thats all another question. I could even see the Sox working out some type of 3 way where a team eats another one of the Sox bad contracts, but that could just be wishful thinking from me.
  2. If the Sox are making this deal, they would be getting Nomar.
  3. That be so cool though...two super fast super pimps on base at the same time. The two of them standing on one another would be about the same height as Frank Thomas or Jon Rauch
  4. I'm rooting for the patriots, but I think it will be a very good game. My only wish is that it would be played in the elements or somewhere where its cold.
  5. Figgins may be cut lose because DaVannon is their 4th outfielder and I think he may be out of options. He upset the Angels when he refused to go to Winter ball. Personally I'd prefer prying DaVannon and/or Washburn but if they could pick up Figgins for a lesser prospect I'd be more then happy. It gives the Sox a little more options and Figgins really played well late last season. Although I don't think the Angels want to touch Valentin. Eckstein will be there leadoff hitter and if they deal him it means moving Erstad (Their 2 hole hitter) to the leadoff slot, something they don't want to do. Plus, I don't even think the Angels would do Valentin for Washburn or Ortiz, let alone give us Figgins as well. If the Sox were to get Figgins, I'd guess the most they'd have to give up is Ginter and they could get away with something less.
  6. Very good article. I've always been a Rowand fan so I'll be rooting for him.
  7. I agree with DickAllen. He has to work out, he isn't flabby and he's in tremendous shape. Considering Rowand and Thomas are good friends, I'm sure they work out together at least every once in a while.
  8. Ok, Steff, I will try and get it up tonight, but it may take me to tomorrow. I'm going to have to make a quick convert to try and make it a little smaller . For whatever reason I can't view the file on my real player, but my real player blows.
  9. Steff, what do you need uploaded? Just send it to me at [email protected]
  10. I definately believe it was an accident. He definately made a mistake, but he does seem like a good guy. I wish the man the best, but he does have to pay for what happenned.
  11. I for one can't wait for spring training
  12. Ya, he's been playing great. More reason why he's my favorite player on the Bulls He seemed to tire down the last few minutes of the 2nd half but he's becoming a fantastic point guard.
  13. If its a deal, then I don't really think they can wait till Soxfest. If the opportunity opens itself, I have no doubt that Ken Williams will make a trade to better this team, but if it doesn't, I hope he doesn't try to force something. While this team could be better, it still has a shot. I'd really love to see the Sox add a veteran pitcher, but I doubt that will happen.
  14. 5 yr 55 mill at the max 4 yr 48 mill. I don't see the Sox going 5 yr 60 mill.
  15. Good luck to see him get that type of money. Why would the Cardinals do that when they have his rights for another few years. I'm surprised they were willing to offer 5 yr 55 mill.
  16. No problem if they get Estes and he actually earns a 5th spot in the rotation. Heck, even if you had the Estes last season, you could honestly say he would of been more productive then what the Sox were rolling out every 5th day last season. I doubt Estes will find his form from a few years ago when he was one of the better lefties in the majors, but why not give him a chance to prove himself in spring. I don't see the harm of it.

  18. LMAO...and the answer is, quite possibly. But most of this are going to be updates to the board that will make it cleaner although I have made a few changes, but I am going to test everything on a test board I have first.
  19. -We will also be working on a new quoting feature, where you have the ability to view all the quoted stuff. Another potential new feature is a quoting system where you can check which posts you want to quote and then quote multiple posts all in one post. -For those that like a linear type format, you will now have an option that makes this board, resemble a linear board and then there will be another format, where the main thread will appear at the very top of every page of a thread. The standard format for the board will be the way it currently looks, but some may prefer the other options. -Lots of backend/admin type upgrades as well
  20. Were still a little ways off, but most likely by the middle to end of February we will be adding some very cool features to Soxtalk. Some of those features are items that have been requested in the past, such as an ignore feature where users can edit their ignore list (I'm assuming not many people will use this feature, but it is a good way for those people that just can't stand another person) to not see there posts and keep fights to a minimum . Another cool feature is that every user will have a specific queve and they can manage their uploads in a sense. I'm not sure how well this feature will work, but it should make it much easier to manage uploads on our end, plus it should be really nice for users to check. Another cool feature, one I know some of you will like is that you soon will be able to have multiple uploads in a post and that you can set those uploads to appear in Thumbnail format (for those larger type images). Basically each user will have an area called an "attachment center" where they can manage their uploads. I will also be trying to finally design that new look for the site (Color wise) but members will also always have the option to stick with the original look. The PM area will also change a bit. It should be a lot more easier to use and it will be using a newer notification system. You will also be able to attach files when you pm. The storage should also be a little larger as the Pm's will be taking up less space. We will also be bringing back the online feature and this time, those that chose to login anonymously will not appear as "online". The board will also be a little faster (those of us that use high speed internet probably won't notice the difference, but it should be a little more noticeable to those using dialup). Anyway...just wanted to give ya all a little preview
  21. McCourt only has one piece of property in Boston that he purchased ions ago for a million dollars or so. Now its supposedly worth a few hundred million and thats what his collateral is to buy the Dodgers. He has almost no money. I'm assuming McCourt wants the Dodgesr for the land around the stadium. He could have the team for a few years, then get the city to finance a stadium in downtown LA, tear down Dodger stadium and now you have a prime piece of real estate that will net you at a minimum 200 million, I'd assume more.
  22. Well Moss pitched pretty poorly last season. I thought he had like an ERA around 6 while Johnson pitched pretty darn well. Moss will sign somewhere, but he won't get much. Honestly, if he signed with the Sox it be nice, because he could revert to the form with the Braves, when he looked like a pitcher with a bit of upside. I'm guessing he could be had for around 750K to a mill with incentives, maybe the Sox could do it.
