Moneyball strikes again
I dunno Mac, I personally think Jackson is the better of the two, but they are both stellar. I haven't seen Miller though, but when I watched Jackson pitch a few games in September he was absolutely stellar for a rookie. He really looks like a guy that could be given the 5th spot and grow and turn into a legit ace. Miller is supposed to be awesome too. They are both probably top 10 prospects in all of baseball. But a rotation with Scho as the 5th (unless Jackson beats him out) for a short time and Jackson adjusting in the pen or in Charlotte (I hate seeing pitchers go their, they seem to just sputter along in Charlotte...well most top prospects we have do at least).

Moneyball strikes again
If somehow the Sox could get Miller and Jackson for Frank Thomas (No Perez) i'd be exstatic, if they could get Miller, Jackson and Perez, I'd also be exstatic. Realistically I'd be very happy with Perez and Jackson/Miller. If the Sox got another prospect great. I wonder what the value is for Thomas on the trade market.

Moneyball strikes again
I say Perez and Jackson for Frank and call it an offseason, well almost. Try to find a lefty bat that wouldn't cost much (in terms of salary and prospects). But ya, if the Dodgers wanted to give us Miller too and we throw in Honel (i'd deal Miller for Honel striaght up so I'd do it here too). Although I find it very unlikely that the Dodgers would give up their two best prospects, I think they will deal one, whether its Miller or Jackson who knows.

Moneyball strikes again
But Thomas and his OBP would fit right in, wouldn't it.

What's everyone doing for Valentine's Day?
I always give girls flowers...at random times, it always goes over so well. Plus, we got a ton of rose bushes around the house so I just go out and clip a few and I'm set Seriously though, valentines day kind of blows, simply because its like this expectation that you have to spend money (and for those that know me, thats something that doesn't sit well with me) and go all out.

What's everyone doing for Valentine's Day?
Going to go out with this girl, although I doubt it will be anything special. Probably some grub (and some flowers for her) and then later that night I'm going to hit up a party with my single friends (Its kind of a tradition; I gave one my friends a few of those sweetheart things to give to random single girls so he can find a valentine for the night ) Although I think Apu has the best freaking valentins day...free cookies, I so want in.

Danny Wright may be a guy that really steps up big time for the Sox. I still have high expecations for him (Although it seems I'm the only one).

Giants frontrunners for Maddux
Heard it on the radio today on my way to work.

Giants frontrunners for Maddux
Supposedly they are getting close to signing him although the Dodgers are making a late push trying to get the finances in order to get Maddux. I gotta say, Boras must of done his job because I never though Maddux would get 10 mill for one year, let alone 10 mill per for two years.

Players must choose Olympics or Mavs
I never thought I'd say this, but Cuban is becoming a jackass although I definately see his point in this.

New rules talked about....
Expand the rinks so they can play more olympic style hockey. Seems like their is so much better flow, creativity and excitement.

neal cotts lovefest??
Look on the bright side, when that thread comes out it will mean Jeff's reached the majors and Sox fans are just dissapointed that he isn't Eric Gagne from day one But Baj, I for one can speak I wouldn't have a problem if you came up and pitched like Gagne . Hopefully this year you stay healthy and the Sox brass takes notice of you and puts ya on the fast track!!!!

Just picked up ticks for their show in Irvine...lousy ass Ticketmaster and their stupid ass fees. Either way I'm pumped to see them. Yellowcard has to be one of the most under-rated bands, although when I play their stuff, more of my friends are slowly starting to recognize it

Velocity ain't everything. And Deininger, Baj, and Majewski are a few other hard throwers I can think of. Garland can throw as high as 94-95, but the Sox told him not too because it was very ineffective. Ocassionally he will throw it when he throws his striaght fastball (I guess its more of a cutter and he throws it in on lefties). And Wright throws hard, but things happen. Pitchers may of always been overthrowing or putting too much focus on velocity and when you made their mechanics better they realized they are better off taking off 2-3 mph because they get better movement, etc. And BA hypes guys and when a guy hits 97 once, then its said he throws it all the time, but thats not really the case. Don't think its the Sox saying these things because they aren't the ones writing the pieces.
