  1. Almonte was dealt to the Mets (part of the Alomar deal) and the Mets released him this offseason. I forget who picked him up.
  2. I always thought Valenzuela would break out onto the swing like Magglio did. Magglio was never that highly touted and then he showed up and well, the Sox never sent him down. He hit from the get go. I thought he was healthy and I know he played in winterball this year. He is still a part of the organization.
  3. Well all the democratic candidates went goofy attacking Dean in the weeks prior to the Iowa caucus. Thats what knocked him off (NOT HIS Speach, the speach potentially was the final straw).

I don't like Bush from a conservative standpoint. I like his stance on the military (I don't know what his reason was for going to Iraq, but I thought their were enough reasons to go in and handle the situation the way the US did). But this spending crap is riduculous, the only reason I'll vote for him is because Kerry and honestly all of the democratic candidates spending approaches are even more ridiculous. This stems from my belief that there are some things the government just isn't responsible for and I don't want to see them become responsible for even more things.

    GOP Issues

The first question is whether McCain or Giuliani will be his running mate. I think adding either of them will give a huge spark to his chances of another 4 years. I also expect to see Kerry's numbers continue to climb, but when Bush finally goes out and starts campaigning for the election, you'll see his numbers rise back up, imo. The one thing that interested me about Kerry is I saw where he wants to greatly increase the size of the military (kind of surprising considering how he's voted at times). I also am completely against his and most of the democrats amnesty plan with Mexico, or whatever you want to call it. Well, essentially just making everyone thats in the country legal so we don't have to hassle with it anymore. To me thats rewarding people that go in here the wrong way. Maybe more people should be allowed into the US, but rewarding those that are doing things against the law, just doesn't seem right to me.
  6. I think he'll be there in the 3rd round and this seems like a solid pick if he makes it into the draft. I sure hope the Bears could get him straightened out though. He definately has potential, but he'd also be very raw.
  7. Lets see, if the Sox move Thomas for Perez and a decent prospect or something along those lines and then they sign Travis Lee to provide some left handed pop and to be the DH, then I'm all for it. I am a huge Thomas fan and he could very well put up good numbers, but Perez is a quality left handed starter that would make the rotation better and I just think it may be a big case of addition by subtraction. The guy hit .278 last year with 19 hr's, and a .348 OBP. And who knows at 28, he's right in the prime of his career and those numbers could really take off. More importantly, it gives the Sox a left handed bat with some pop in the middle of the order. Get a solid enough of a prospect (No, not Jackson, etc...although if they got someone like that...way more power to the Sox ).
  8. In all honesty, I'd rather see Thomas dealt then Konerko. I got a feeling deep down, the reports are true and Thomas probably causes a lot of tension in the clubhouse. I think Konerko will be back.
  9. Ya, I know that information...but I'd have to kill ya if I told ya guys who it was, lol.
  10. Damn it, now that really pisses me off. Was talking to my friend about that today at school. We were wondering when we'd get some new episodes of that and Nip Tuck.
  11. Thanks for the info Jim. Sounds cool, I'll be looking forward to updates as always By the way, your Gauchos took out the Titans in basketball this weekend .
  12. I think in a year as some of the guys make names for themselves, you will see the Sox prospect rating climb quite a bit, slowly back into the top 10, imo. Especially if guys like Haigwood and Rodriguez are back at 100%.
  13. The Sox liked him a ton as an outfielder. I know at least a few organizations that liked him as a pitcher. Hopefully he excells as a hitter cause the only way I could see him moving him to pitching is if he failed as a hitter/outfielder. Kind of like the whole Dellaero pitching experiment after he could never hit for an average despite being a fantastic defensive shortstop.
  14. Welcome Aboard Wyatt I now got a much longer list of guys I'll be rooting for to make it to the show So are all of you in Arizona already???
  15. Only legit possibility is a Magglio or Konerko deal with the Angels or Dodgers for pitching, imo.
  16. I'm doing some php coding, but I'm working on getting a photoalbum set up with thumbnails and such with pictures of people from here, etc. I'm hoping I can get it done rather shortly (a week or two), but with me sometimes I forget about things, plus it depends on how busy I am at school and work. But once its set up, people can upload pics and that type of stuff. Going to try and make it really simple, but I am going to set size limits and stuff. Should be pretty cool though. Once its done, it will be set up as a link on Soxtalk
  17. It seems like it may be much closer then some suspected cause I know their was a relatively decent chance Kerry would win all 7 states and if that happened the process would basically be over.
  18. Books...whats a book Right now my school books, but I plan on reading an LSAT prep book or two and then some solid books once I'm on break.
  19. My sentiments exactly. I thought it was something he always did. But maybe Hawk has watched a lot of his tape from his AAA days and knows Willie doesn't bunt much. Of cousre I swear Hawk and DJ are always raving about how players should bunt more
  20. Welcome Aboard Is the changeup something new for this season or did he feature it last season?? He put up some pretty impressive numbers last season and he's now one of my favorites. I just realized he hails from UCI...not quite my school, but its like 5 minutes from my house
  21. Awesome pic, this guy has filthy stuff although he sure got lit up during his short stint. But I'd give him some time and he may turn into a real winner. His knees are a huge question-mark. But with the advances of modern medicine, the Sox felt he was worth the risk and hopefully they will be right.
  22. Firebird is the light edition and its supposed to be better then their plain mozilla because this one runs much quicker. Then you just go through and pick the add ons you want. A new version is coming out in about a month. All I know is this is really sweet. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/
  23. Congrats Spiff And Ian that was an awesome job you did running the contest. Major props go out to you
