Alienware VS Dell VS Gateway
I got a dell laptop and my mom has a dell computer. Both work awesome. At my dads work, all he has is gateways and they work good, although we started shifting to Dell's. I think Dell builds a better machine and they seem to hold up better over time.

Koch will close
I think what may be wrong with Koch is he is thinking he needs to throw that hard. And while that seems like an easy dilemma, its a really hard thing for a pitcher to get out of its mind. It may lead to him really throwing off his mechanics, which could definately explain the loss of 3-4 MPH. It may result in him not having good weight distribution and it may result in him throwing more with the arm then with the legs/quads. I think if he just relaxed and pitched and concentrates on hitting his spots, then I think, if his arm is healthy, you'll see a return of his velocity (maybe not to 100 MPH, but pretty high). Either way if he mixes pitches in and gets guys out, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But he can't have hitters sitting on pitchers.

Koch will close
Well at least last year he was. It seemed like all he ever talked about was his velocity and such.

Shingo Takatsu
Good stuff, but I'm going to take everything and wait to see how they pitch against real hitters. I do like hearing about how filthy his movement is.

Yahoo Baseball problem
Is this just a general league your making or is it for one of the Soxtalk leagues?? Sounds like maybe you left a required field blank or they are having a database problem and they will probably fix it relatively quickly.

Weekly Update League Thread
I figure holds means you could go after a top setup man instead of a closer, cause a lot of times some teams have absolute crap as closers, this would give them another option. Just to make sure its semi fair, how many holds do the top middle relievers usually get?

MVP 2004
He left the MLBPA, so now he isn't in any of the games. I know one game replaced him with some 22 year old outfielder named Joe Young or something. Bonds did it because he felt he could make more money marketing himself, rather then taking the chunk each player in the MLBPA gets or something along those lines.

Weekly Update League
The Draft is now set for Saturday March 6th at 12 PM Pacific Time (2 PM Central Time). I know weekdays don't work all that well for most people and I figured this time would be more suitable. I don't know why, but there are a whole lot more draft times now then there were before. Anyway, I hope this time is better then the last one

Weekly Update League Thread
Ok everyone Here are the categories for stats right now: Offense (9; 1 is negative): R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, E, AVG, OPS, Pitching (8) W, L, CG, SHO, SV, BB, K, ERA I was thinking we could add Innings Pitched to the pitchesr side. This would mean that there are 9 pitching categories and 9 position categories and since its a head to head league, you just have to win the categories to win the game so their would be great balance. I also could see a point to having strikeouts count on offense because they are a big part of the game. walks are already factored in OPS, but k's aren't anywhere. What I was thinking (need everyone else to agree or disagree) was if we had strikeouts to hitters, then to add innings pitched and holds to the pitchers category. This would give 10 position categories and 10 pitching categories. Another option instead of counting holds, would be to have Hr's as a category for pitchers. Anyway, feedback is appreciated.

Weekly Update League Thread
My thinking is, cf is the only position that is super tough. Since the league is going to have a big variety and 12 players, I think we could find 12 solid centerfielders. Plus this makes the draft strategy tougher. I don't think it would lead to a lot of blowouts, because the teams with the better left andright fielders could make up in those areas, plus there are the two bench players. Its not like its based by position, where you can't win if you are really weak at a position. Anyway, lets have a vote and just go by majority. That seem fair? My vote is to have one cf mandatory. I think left and rf are interchangeable so I don't see it necessary to have those as required positions. I say we allow 2 random OF and each team is required to have a CF

Koch will close
If I were the White Sox, I'd turn the guns off for Koch. I wouldn't want to see Koch looking at the readings and letting that be the judgement of whether he's suceeding or not. That or I'd have a phony gun showing extra high readings for Koch so he can get confident and just relax and pitch. I think one of the biggest flaws of radar guns, is the emphasis put on them. Koch needs to go out there and pitch, and if he gets guys out, then I don't give a damn what he's throwing.

Portis for Bailey?
I think the Broncos go with Turner in the 2nd round if he is there. I also think he'd be an excellent selection for the Bears.

MVP 2004
Ya, its that easy. Or you could have a network and have both plugged in at the same time. Thats a little more complicated, but its basically plug and play the way your describing it.

Dream Job
The asian kid from Stanford was really good. The girl was pretty good too. I'd say the kid from Stanford looks by far away like someone that would be good on sportscenter. The guy I thought sucked, was the comedian who went last. A few one liners are funny, but its not supposed to be night at the improv. I also want to know about whats going on sports related.

Portis for Bailey?
The Broncos know they can basically insert a player in and they will become a pretty strong running back. I'm guessing Quentin Griffin will be their new starting running back. He played very good in the games where Portis went down. Its a lot easier to find a good running back in the Bronco's system as it is to get a corner like Bailey (Possibly the best cb in the NFL and he's just entering his prime).
