  1. Reports are that the Bears are going to make their offer to Tait today. The Chiefs will have one week to match it, so it will be very interesting what happens. This offer will tie the Bears down in some instances, so I hope they quickly address the dt and de moves during this process. IF they miss out on Tait, then I think you will see them go after Salaam if he's still out there.
  2. This new system is going to fully use 4 receivers. Roy Williams and Reggie Williams would typically be top 8 picks in any other draft and because this draft is so strong, one of those playmakers, if not both will fall to the Bears. The only proven receiver on the Bears is Booker and in this system thats just not going to work. They need some guys that can stretch the field. I love Gage and I think Terrel has potential, but adding a stud receiver won't hurt one bit. I love DeAngelo Halls upside though. Vincent would be a nice pickup, although I'd probably prefer to go with someone like Antoine Winfield, although part of me is scared he'll be the next Thomas Smith. All I know is I'm excited how the Bears were agressive out of the gate, but I hope they still have some other guys in mind.
  3. Ya, Garcia would be a way better pickup, imo.
  4. Ya Apu, he was the green party rep in the governor recall process. He came off as pretty good on camera. Didn't attack Arnold, although I completely disagree with his policies, but thats why I'm not a member of the green party. Seems like a sharp guy. A ton of people follow him at my school, which is where he announced that he was going to run for president. Thank goodness I read my school paper, although the main thing I look for are when the free movie screenings are as well as when good free/cheap concerts are going on.
  5. Aren't there positions in the state assembly or any propositions up on the ballot?
  6. I watched part of his press conference. I guess the Dolphins are making him their starter. Seems like an iffy move to me.
  7. Ya they can. But on the plus side if the Bears get him, there is no compensation necessary.
  8. Plus if they do that in FA, they could address WR and then CB in the draft. Heck, I'd go after Roy or Reggie Williams and then move up and go after DeAngelo Hall to be the CB. Those are two playmakers and to me major impact guys. To trade up, I'd be moving up in the 2nd round and would give up probably whatever pick the Bears get for Thomas and then maybe a future pick.

Mooch I got my first statistics test on Wednesday. My first midterms are on Friday. Got one in my management class as well as my economic development class. Then on Tuesday I have a big ass midterm in my accounting 301 class (giong to be a lot of work). And wednesday is my statistics class. Got a writing assignment in my bus writing class tomorrow. Only class I've got a grade in yet is my bus writing. Got 45/50 on my first paper. All I know is I'm finally getting buckled down and starting my studying for the first two midterms today. Hopefully I'll get in a groove and tomorrow just do a little more reviewing and then kick some butt.
  10. Sometime between now and the draft, I'll probably make it where cf is a required position. I know there is some debate about this, but it will involve more strategy while still keeping the league well balanced.
  11. Its official, Holdman has finally been cut. We knew it was coming, but I guess the Bears couldn't find anyone to offer up a pick for him. This gives the Bears a little more money and reports are the Bears are going to be talking with Tait.
  12. Brown will play on the opposite side and then you'd have Haynes work on becoming a dt or potentially use Haynes to move up in the draft. I'd think the most likely would be having Haynes put on a little weight and working him into the dt rotation and have him as the dt on all pass situations. I agree Tait would be a huge upgrade, cause it will be important to have a stable line and with Tait the Bears would have the potential to have a great line.

Going to watch a lot of baseball (My spring break falls the same time as the start of baseball season). Going to go to the Dodgers, Angels and Padres opening day games and then probably go somewhere for a few days with all the buddies

Wow, I hope she gets better. Thats going to be a long tough recovery, but I wish her the best Steff.
  15. Winstrom would be nice if it isn't too expensive. He's nowhere near the upgrade Kearse would of been. However, if you can get Winstrom and Robaire Smith or Bryant Young for the same price as Kearse, or even less, then I say its a nice trade off. Plus then the Bears still have plenty of money to get Tait.
  16. After finally catching up on what all has happened lately (got midterms this week and next) I just want to state one thing. If anyone things we as mods have a bias, then your probably right. We definately have a bias when it comes to things. We know some posters better then others, but when it comes to making a decision, we discuss things with each other and basically throw out the member name. We've discussed this issue quite a bit and will probably discuss it a little more today, and we discuss the facts of what happened. We handle a lot of things behind the scenes and I understand sometimes it looks like we play favorites, but for those that have seen me post for however long, I think its pretty obvius that no matter who I reply to or who I post to, I give them my upmost respect. I don't make assumptions about people because of their posts and personally I don't get mad about anything, because to me there isn't a point to it. I'm proud of what this board has became and sometimes fights happen, but overall we have such a great group here and its a group that keeps growing and we all change, but were all Sox fans and many of us get along and talk outside of the board.

CW, I gotta say...the whole homeland security flip flop could really be looked at as an entirely different thing. I think anything Bush said pre 9-11 in sense of security and such can be taken as a change because of what had happenned. All politicians flip flop, although its my personal opinion of looking at Kerry's voting record that he does it a whole lot and the thought process of him is always changing. When I look at Bush I can kind of see his thought process on the issues and I'm sure you see his thought process (I'm guessing its something like, He's just being his usual self - A Moron). Personally I see and agree with a lot of things Bush has done and can't for the life of me figure out some of the things Kerry has voted for and then switched from.
  18. Chisoxfn replied to mreye's topic in SLaM
Thats the same stuff I've always heard. His staff was very mixed on the issue.

Its been pretty greatly discussed that it was probably one of the biggest mistakes of Bush's presidency (Although If I recall he was for rebuilding Iraq). I personally agree with that. I've heard that there was a pretty big debate at the time of whether they should of toppled and rebuilt Iraq. Eventually they decided not to, but many were upset about that.

Thtas where I kind of disagree, while its great to keep jobs here, outsourcing is a pretty big thing. US is an ideas economy and its basis is on efficiency and it gets bigger and better the more efficient we get. Outsourcing is a way to improve efficiency. I think there is another side to the spectrum when you look at keeping jobs here in certain areas. You also want to create new jobs, but sometimes saving old jobs isn't the answer, but having the economy and new job demands come into effect. There is a proper mix between keeping jobs in house and outsourcing, what is it, I don't know, but I think its a lot harder then Kerry seems to say it is.
  21. Maybe they now make a push at Sapp and go for someone like Marcellus Wiley, who in my opinion still has a few pretty good years left in him.
  22. You crack me up steff So are you going to run on the field and give him a kiss then next time he's in Chicago?
  23. I find it funny that just because the yanks say they would be interested in a guy that the media believes it will happen. Ya, they can do that when there are players that are on the market, but the Sox aren't going to deal their #4 starter unless they get a guy that can be a starter in return.
  24. Rupe was the guy the Sox will miss, imo. They traded them for a chance to win it all and on paper they had the best team in the AL, imo. Unfortunately Manuel and the players failed.
