Sox Announce Player Development Staff
LMAO...why do I get this weird idea that were now going to see Bullard and other players sprinting out of the bullpen to some type of intro music and pyrotechnics. On the plus side...maybe you can land a slim jim endorsement

Dodger's Sale Approved
This is one of the worse owners to enter the game, imo. He will absolutely destroy the dodgers. The owners are making a huge mistake.

Sox Top 10 Prospects
My theory on Yan, who I've always liked a lot is until he proves to hit, he's somewhere in the 20 to low 30 range. Guy has tons of speed though. But his struggles after repeating at Winston Salem weren't something to write home about. I'm hoping he will put up some good numbers in Bham and get going. Defensively I saw him make a few spectacular plays (Great range), although his arm is iffy. I think he could develop into an above average defensive 2nd baseman. The entire question, like Rex said, is can he get on base.

Bush Flunks Math, Again
I know I've heard a lot of mention of this working out. The government is expecting the economy to pick up and revnues to increase drastically. I would like to read an article that really sums up exactly how they are figuring the deficit will be being cut, other then predicting the economy to soar cause In my opinion, the economy isn't ready to take off like a rocket ship.

Does anybody Know....
Ehh...just sounds like he's upset cause some of us doubt whether he knows someone. If he does and he is right, I'll quickly be quiet, but some of this stuff is pretty far fetched.

No one, but if I was forced I'd pick Lieberman cause he's by far the most conservative in the group and he actually has a backbone.

Wally Backman Finds a New Job
Courtesy of the Birmingham Barons BIRMINGHAM, AL – Five days following the resignation of new manager Eddie Rodriguez, the Arizona Diamondbacks have announced today that Wally Backman will skipper the Lancaster JetHawks, the Diamondbacks Single-A, California League affiliate, for the 2004 season. Rodriguez recently accepted a position with the Montreal Expos as their new bench coach to open up the spot for Backman. Backman lands in Lancaster after three seasons as a manager in the Chicago White Sox organization, the last two with the Class AA Birmingham Barons. In his two seasons with Birmingham, his clubs posted a 152 - 125 (.548) overall record and made the Southern League playoffs each season. In 2002, the Barons captured the Southern League championship and Backman was named the manager of the year as well as the league's Baseball America top managerial prospect. The Oregon resident began his managerial career in the independent ranks, capturing a league championship in the Western League while with Tri-City in 2000. In four seasons, Backman guided three different independent clubs before joining the White Sox organization. A former first round draft pick of the New York Mets and a member of that club's 1986 World Series Championship team, the 44-year-old played with a total of five organizations during his career before retiring in 1993. He hit .275 with 240 RBI in 1,102 career games at the big league level. In addition to the World Series title in 1986, Backman saw action in two other postseasons, 1988 with New York and 1990 as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Spring Training Questions
You can also make the drive down to the Phoenix area and catch games there. Their are a lot of great places to hang out around ASU, etc. Southwest or American West are a few other airlines I recommend cause they usually have great rates into the Phoenix area.

Ownership of the Sox and maybe I'd listen . Although deep down I just don't think I could. Have nothing against people who do though. And wasn't this article pretty old? I rember, I think it was Cerb, posted this back when they signed him.- Work question...
Well if it was a cocktail lunch and he gets in an accident, the company is who is ultimately liable. But since it wasn't that, they should still handle things and take care of it. Get him a cab, take him home, dock him the pay for the day and write him up. One more time and he's fired.- The God thread
I think essentially we've had the same amount of water for quite a long time, although I thought historically they do believe their is evidence of a major flood. I know through differentiation, maybe very early, we could of had more water and it would of continued to evaporate into space. But once the planet differentiated enough an atmosphere was created and the gravitational pull was enough to keep the atmosphere together. Geologists theororize (horrible spelling on that) that many of the planets originally had water and even potentially oxygen, but that the gravity was to the opint that it would evaporate into space but sine we developed an atmosphere, it was able to stay in.- ISA agreement with the Sox..
I think some of those listed will occur this offseason and others will occur next offseason. I know that one of the big renovations next offseason will likely be the addition of a home run porch, which will add to the stadium's capacity, since this year it will be much lower since they are removing many of the seats in the upper deck in an attempt to make the stadium feel more cozy. From everything people have said, the stadium is coming along really nice and Welcome Aboard- KW on the radio
I completely agree on your comparison of hitters and pitchers. I truly feel a good hitter could be ready at an early stage. In Bocrhards case, you know the Sox are dissapointed he isn't already here. I don't think they envisioned the flaws in his swing to hold him back. I think they hoped they could bring him to the show and continue to work his flaws out at the major league level. The problem was the flaws were too severe and he simply needed more work then they expected. This guy has put up some pretty damn impressive numbers though and if he is making strides then he could be due to turn things around this year and get a few months in with the Sox later in the season. I completely agree though, its much easier for a hitter to learn on the fly then a pitcher. - The God thread
