  1. "I had hoped to do something else today, but that doesn't look like it's going to materialize because the price is too steep," Williams said. There is a quote from KW. Sounds like he had another deal planned and I'm assuming that it was Boone and Williamson or Williamson alone. He also said that right now prices are too steep or appear to be, but that he is trying. Sounds like he's a buyer but won't give up too much.
  2. This just means more time for modeling

    Danman

    Its true in this case
  4. Clu...were gonna resize that sig...that thing is stinking huge
  5. Rupe and Ring are the two that could turn out to be good major league players. Otherwise I'm fairly confident that the other guys will fizzle out.
  6. Allegedly Ian...all I'm trying to do is show ya where I was coming from when I wrote this. Am I saying they are guarantees no, but they are possibilities and thats what I wrote them up as. I'm not JR and I'm not KW so I can't call anything a guarantee. I do stand by what I wrote though and I think the odds are very good that the Sox get one of those guys mentioned there. They could also go with Danny Graves or Kerry Lightenberg or Brian Lawrence or someone else.
  7. whats wrong with the idea of getting Danny Graves? I love the idea of getting Graves. Haven't heard anything about Sox getting him though. I kind of hope that they would. WIth his contract and the play of him as a starter I'd say he'd cost absolutely nothing and he could fill in and become a damn good reliever. I'd love a pen of Gordon, Marte, Wunsch, Sho, Koch, Graves
  8. Ok Sox are interested in a starter. Suppan is available and I've heard the Sox are interested. There have been many reports about the Sox being interested in Kevin Jarvis. And Williams wanted Williamson bad. These are stuff thats out there. Does anyone know if they are 100% no, cause we aren't Ken Williams, only he for sure knows whats going on cause he's the one on the phones.
  9. Sox are and have been interested in Vazquez. Doubtful they would get him though.
  10. middle of the road s*** till we know who the minor players are........they wouldnt just go for someone whos not going to amount to anything for glover...wtf.........they could have stood pat if that were the case........ They gave up basically nothing on the minor league front. Bittner is nothing while Dunn is older for AA but he does have a good arm. BUt how many other guys in the minors in the majors have good arms and never make it. Nickle and Dunn are a wash. Scho is better then Glover.
  11. Williams, Sox May Not Be Done in Market By Jason Gage July 29, 2003 SoxNet.net (SN Report #588) - White Sox General Manager Kenny Williams has been one of the most active GM's all season and that doesn't look to be changing. The White Sox did add lefty Scott Schoeneweis to help the bullpen, but the void in the rotation and uncertainty of the 'pen is still a concern, which may lead to another trade or two before the July 31 trade deadline. One reliever that Williams showed strong interest in was Reds closer Scott Williamson, but he was traded to the Red Sox when it was all said and done. His teammate, thirdbaseman baseman Aaron Boone, was also rumored to be involved in the deal. With that, rumors have the White Sox looking at San Diego's starter Kevin Jarvis and Pirates' ACE Jeff Suppan, who is in the midst of a career year. Suppan, 28, is 10-7 with a 3.57 ERA and is coming off a strong performance on Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals, where he threw a complete game shutout. Many teams, most notably the Red Sox and Cardinals, have also expressed interest in Suppan. Suppan was signed to a one year deal worth $500,000 at the beginning of the season. Jarvis, 33, was sideline for part of the season after undergoing season-ending surgery last year. Thus far, he’s rebounded nicely, going 4-2 with a 3.91 ERA in eight starts. Jarvis, who signed a three-year deal worth $9 million prior to the 2002 season, will make $4.25 million in 2004 with a team option in 2005 for $5.25 million. Other possible, but unlikely, targets are the Orioles' Sidney Ponson and the Expos' Livan Hernandez and Javier Vazquez.
  12. Did I read that wrong? Any trades involving Dan Evans includes good prospects for old, s***ty players. Lol...so true. I just think how they have no prospects left anymore. Other then that Gutirez guy who did really good in the futuresgame.
  13. I just want the Sox to take things on game at a time. Royals are supposedly gonna get Jose Guillen.
  14. If the Dodgers are involved I guarantee you no good prospects are going anywhere. Boone is gonna force Reds into a trade and I don't think they are gonna get much for him. Maybe a guy like Hummel and a low level reliever.
  15. It was gonna be boone and Williamson but the Bosox made their offer and I think it was more then the Sox were willing to offer for the two of them. Basically BOone is done. He will never play another game with the Reds. He will be gone...I guarantee it. If his value is really that low, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Sox pick him up. They aren't done...I almost guarantee one more move, potentially two more moves.
  16. Yep, sounds like we were gonna get him but the Reds liked who they got from the REd Sox as they saw him throw a no hitter when they were scouting him. KW is a good GM...I think in a while he'll be considered a great GM.
  17. I don't have a pic, but she was on Beverly Hills 90210 at the end. And some undercover cop show on Fox in the past 6 months. Natural beauty. Also, she's a smoker with TONS of tats.. The show was Fastlane that she was on...I liked that show... I liked that too. How the hell did it take about 5 posts before someone brought up Kelly Kapowski. Thank you Spiff
  18. Rex, whats his avg in those last 12 games?
  19. Wow...Yanks must be clearing cap room for something
  20. Talks are Sox are now the frontrunners in acquiring Suppan. Not sure how true that is. Heard it on the radio.
  21. Twins now basically play the teams we just played last month so don't count them out. Like I've been saying though...Sox need to take care of their business one game at a time. If they do that i think all of us will be very happy.
  22. Sweet. Reed is really turning it on while Adkins may turn into something. This has to be a career high for K's by Adkins. With his stuff I think he's made big strides and playing in a bandbox it says a lot about how good he's done. Damn I love Reed
  23. I was eating dinner so I didn't get to add the finishing piece Of course I came to make the post and see an extended thread on that cartoon. I knew when I saw the first post asking about it that this thread would take a life of its own
