  1. Tony - I really like the idea. I think the one inherent bias to the deal is larger market teams clearly would have an advantage because you can probably help them negotiate / obtain bigger advertising / non team related pay which would put an inherent advantage to Chicago, LA, New York, etc. I would think you'd have to find a way to normalize for that.
  2. If anything - don't make the $ equal - so you are giving more money to the worse teams - teams can trade "draft" money for the value and optimize accordingly. It would certainly be interesting to say the least. My guess is it would end up in a bigger disparity of have and have nots in terms of players - more of the higher end prospects will get a larger swath of the pool and than a bunch of guys on minimum deals. But essentially with a pool tied to where you would "pick" you essentially create a free market view of the draft.
  3. My point is - you have work to do as a qb. How about focus on that vs put this stuff out there and spend time on this. Think of the bulletin board material week 1. Think of the dialogue now and how it impacts things. If he is now all bought into Chicago - why spend all this time (not saying this is a ton of time - might have been all of one one hour conversation) rehashing this stuff and making it a thing.
  4. I just hope the noise and article isn’t by Caleb. I don’t see anything good for him and his team wasting his time on this narrative. We all know Flus sucked and situation wasn’t great - but focus your time on getting better right now cause he has plenty to work on.
  5. 7 teams have worse run differentials than the White Sox.
  6. LETS GO!!! Lets win the real season Chicago Bears!!!
  7. I’m so tired at the Bulls lousy front office. That said - if they somehow could give up the next 5 years of picks and swaps plus a young player and filler for a star that works for me.
  8. Black Friday game will be fun.
  9. Fucking eh. The Mavs winning it kills me. Didn’t Bulls lose a flip with Atlanta like a year ago or something or am I making that up?
  10. Come on Bulls - let the lady luck be on our side!!!
  11. Please be one of those dudes who just ends up being a damn good player despite limited minor league hype…
  12. Thought I would open this up for the collective to share their favorite memories of Alex or favorite posts.
  13. It is with great sadness that I inform our members of the passing of our beloved Alex (ie Heads). Alex was one of my dear friends - and was a friend to all on Soxtalk, around Ames Iowa (where he supported his cyclones) and to his friends and family. For anyone that didn’t know Alex, he had a heart of gold and he always treated people on this forum (and anyone) with the upmost respect and dignity. He loved his family, his friends, his White Sox and especially his Iowa State Cyclones. We will forever miss Alex, but we will always remember him. He was with Soxtalk from its infancy and played such an incredible roll in building out this site, developing our community, driving passionate discussion and ensuring civil dialogue. What I will miss most about Alex is his sense of humor, kind heart, and passion. We would share text over the years and always be joking with each other…whether it was over the Iowa / Iowa State game (My Hawkeyes would always win) or chatting about the Sox (and even the Dodgers - both of our dads favorite teams). I’ll always remember after all the years of texts and IMs when we finally met in person - somehow he was even nicer in person. From all those texts, it was always clear how much he loved his family, friends, the Sox and of course the Cyclones. I know without a doubt what has always made this place special is the connection our members have to each other and Alex was very much the epitome of that and we have all lost a tremendous friend and way way too soon in life. We love you Alex, we will forever miss you, and we send nothing but love and prayers to you, your family, and your friends. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family members and friends who were impacted by the tragic accident. https://cyclones.com/news/2025/5/6/isu-athletics-mourns-the-loss-of-alex-ernst
  14. Got one of those photo reminders on Facebook…16 years ago this week is when I created the Soxtalk blackout that last 1 plus week (might have been longer)….when I totally screwed up a site upgrade….
  15. Bears move down again - get a 4th rounder next year. Those are valuable when it comes to leverage to trade for other players etc. Didn’t love the LB they took but he is fast and they need to replace Sanborn.
  16. The Jets or Steelers have to grab him. Or maybe someone like McVay. My guess is if he is there when Dallas picks next he will go there. At this point - if were Bears I’d take him. Let him be a back up for a year with Ben Johnson and than trade him. Sanders had some flaws but he is damn accurate and accurate works in the NFL.
  17. I wouldn’t have bothered with tackle and would have grabbed a guard prospect - want a potential starter with a 2nd round pick not a Borom type swing tackle.
  18. Two picks in trenches - am good with that.
  19. Rutledge is who I’m grabbing.
  20. I’m thinking it will be the 4th rounder where they take a rb from a smaller school whose measurable they like. My guess is a db or safety plus a guard or dlinemen
  21. Yeah - I think I would take one of the guards.
  22. Good trade - now to cross fingers and hope Iowa back sticks around.
  23. Trade - want to see what they got but I like this on paper.
  24. I don’t mind - we haven’t had a real offense ever. I’m good trying to build there and focus on defense next year. Number one goal is Caleb and getting this offense right.
  25. Wonder if they complete offensive help and draft the Minnesota OT next and than a back in next round? Definitely focused on getting Caleb and Ben Johnson talent. They needed another wideout and they got a good one.
