  1. I think with some restructures they can find a way for a few lower end signings - I'm thinking like 1Yr $5M wideout type of moves - not crazy money. They can probably structure a few other things if they needed to.
  2. Welp - I am going to guess we'll see them eventually sign a wideout - but probably not for a few days or longer once the market has settled. Can't argue that they didn't spend and they invested money in the right positions (the lines). Hopefully they identified the right players.
  3. This is a good move - ascending player with a lot of upside. Hopefully Allen dan get most out of him. Going to get paid for his upside vs past production which is always a risk….but love it. Tons of flexibility heading into draft.
  4. I think given strength of this years draft you could go heavy dline, oline and an rb - than maybe sign a vet db and a vet wideout and te to short term deals in free agency. Keeps a ton of flexibility and gives you depth whose also allowing you to target youth in pockets with most talent in draft.
  5. I agree with this entirely. There is also a lot of Oline, RB, and TE depth in this draft - which are other positions Bears should leverage, so I could see them going DE, OT, RB, DT, TE or some combination of that. This is where I'd be fine signing another TE instead -> than you can just focus on DE/OT/RB/DT/OG or something like that. I caveat - safety and LB are other positions if you see someone you like by all means (DB's too - can never have too many).
  6. If this is where the market holds out - than I could see them still signing someone - but more 1Yr type of deal, or pivoting to add another wideout or TE on a short-term deal.
  7. This - unless you really love a DE or LT sitting at 10 - I think you move down. Quite frankly I'd be intrigued with a trade down with the Bengals involving Hendrickson.
  8. Finally - all the linemen....linemen, linemen, linemen!!!
  9. HUGE - Fair deal too.
  10. Sounds ilke Dalman to Bears - 3yr 42M
  11. Godwin returning to Bucs (3yr 66M).
  12. H. Reddick to the Bucs on 1yr deal.
  13. Chiefs were first deal - signed a tackle to protect Mahomes - 2yr 33M or so.
  14. He's a #3. Replaced Mercedes Lewis.
  15. Is that a rumor? I suppose I could see it - presume it would be a short term deal.
  16. I could also see the Bears signing a TE or something random like that.
  17. I do think they will get Dalman - I am going to guess Chase Young to the Bears on a 2YR 25M deal. I do NOT think they draft a RB in Rd 1 - but expect they do in Rd 2 (maybe even move up slightly to take the 2nd RB off the board). Colts Dlinemen is the other guy to watch. I will notate - I could see them making a play for Hendrickson. Above is purely my wild ass prediction (Dalman/Young).
  18. Completely agree - goes back to - when you are regularly drafting back 10 picks of the first round - you are going to entirely go to where the value on the draft board is. But look at the Ravens - staggering number of Wideouts drafted (they also had a lot more draft picks than the other teams - but 4 out of 13 if I counted correctly).
  19. Johnathan Allen was banged up this past year and is 30 - but Commanders just released him. Could be an intriguing interior option and obviously has a pretty strong relationship with Sweat. He has largely been a pretty healthy player with exception to this past year where he tore his pectoral muscle (which in general seems to be a common injury).
  20. I actually was surprised - a ton more DB and LB's than I would have expected, but i think this is maybe not a correlation type of component and gets back to - most of this teams have had elite QB play (with exception of the Steelers). I do agree, I don't buy taking a RB in round 1 with rare exception - but that doesn't mean round 2 isn't a good place to go get one (or in free agency grab a high end RB once he is finishing his first contract with the team that drafted him high - ie McCaffrey or Saquon).
  21. If Bowers was there, I would legit consider him at 10 in this year's draft if the Bears addressed the other needs, cause he was such a special TE talent.
  22. Or Bears trade down with the Bengals and pick up Hendrickson (maybe also trade down in the 2nd round). But basically go from 10 to 17 - pick up Hendrickson and give him a big money deal on your line. Than draft Simmons (presuming you like his medicals) at 17.
  23. I could see a scenario where Bears drop back a few picks in 1st round and use one of their 2nd rounders and a future 2nd to move back into the 1st round. Basically take a LT and Dline prospect in 1st round this year.
  24. I don’t like trading picks - but these are good trades. Creates depth and upgrades oline while bringing in some vets to also stabilize and help locker room / system. Last year we traded these types of picks for backups - which was stupid - this year you get two interior linemen who will start and you know you have them where as free agency is an unknown. Now they should have a lot of flexibility to go dline or oline early in draft but not have to start a 2nd round guard (for example) asap. Let him grow into role or take your LT and a guard with your 2nd or 3rd. Tney have cap space so now curious if they so go Dalman too. But this is the start - need to also have some more young talent in oline pipeline too.
  25. He is way better than Bates. Johnson knows him and when he is healthy he is an above average guard. I think his cap hit is just under 10M.
