  1. Ah crap. Any chance this is some normal soreness type thing given he was on the mend from previous injuries (vs. a new serious injury). I feel bad cause Rodon was is such a strong guy and his stuff was just electric.
  2. Probably pretty hard - my guess is you aren't seeing near as much as when you are watching the team in-front of you. Less video angles (to see how the players are setting up in the field, etc). Plus - regardless of where they are broadcasting from, lack of fans and other sights to see during the game has to make everything that much harder. I couldn't imagine if this was 2 years ago in the rebuild and during COVID. Don't know how you could broadcast a terrible team without being able to have small talk on what is going on in the stands. At least now they have a really fun team to be able to talk about in between pitches!
  3. I do hope Rodon's injury is something minor (like a blister or like a groin or something vs. anything arm related). Any word yet?
  4. Baseball is finally fun again!!!
  5. He was going back up the middle and opposite field at times with authority as well. Was just locked and loaded and looked real good. We know he is going to be streaky - but he is also going to see a lot of pitches and get on base quite a bit and when he is on his good streaks, he can literally help carry an offense. Plus he's a catcher. Was good to see him start raking though.
  6. He is going to eventually hit a slump...it happens, but the guys tools are just off the chart. This entire offense is full of guys who are just fun to watch, where you want to see what they might do. I feel like any inning (no matter who is leading it off) the squad is capable of putting a crooked number (or more) on the board.
  7. Is this your suggestion or is this what actually just happened?
  8. Even if all the kids and counselors fully healed with no issues - the question is bigger than that - how many did those 260 who were infected go on to infect, cause the deaths of those individuals count too. And it is beyond deaths - the more this happens the more we just drag out this entire massive slowdown in the economy. Oh and how many of those people infected also end up with longer term health conditions - that are not just a drag on that individual but drive up overall health costs, etc.
  9. Just shift to a giant march madness style format. I don't really care - just get me as many games of baseball as I can get (in a safe manner).
  10. Or he was like - really - you guys are going to play the service time game with me.
  11. I just love what this lineup is going to look like for a long long time. Like LOOOVE. This is like vintage early to mid 2000 Sox type lineups (and quite possibly - better).
  12. If they have to suspend - they need to pivot to a plan c - which is set-up the darn bubbles and deal with it.
  13. I really like this nickname. Hopefully he droves the opposition Mad.
  14. That I don't disagree with either - I was more commenting on Kelly getting such a harsh treatment but would agree Astros should have received something, especially relative to COVID.
  15. I kind of get it though - from MLB's perspective - you know players are going to be gunning at the Astros and somewhere the league has to maintain player safety. If they don't send a message hard out of the gate, it is a slippery slope and they'll be getting drilled all season long and the inevitable will happen, which is potentially a pretty significant injury or two. Now you can say - so what - they deserve it, but the league has to do what it can to protect its players and I think swift action here made sense given the circumstances. Certainly on the higher end of the equation given short season, but I get why they sent a message out of the gate. Kelly also has past issues and in some ways isn't he a bit of a hypocrite (wasn't he part of the Red Sox team that cheated?).
  16. Beautiful - now build on it - also KWF - great to see you around - hope all is well!!!
  17. As I tell my son - he is going to be a flat out superstar - like 6WAR type of player. He just has "it". I really wonder how amazing the Mets guy is that there was another individual ranked ahead of Robert (unless you are worried he can't stay healthy). Offensively and Defensively - he has it all.
  18. Ok - Robert - knock it open. Calling the shot!
  19. Yes - I saw something and didn't quite understand - it might be they get to push some of it into the next year.
  20. 5 run inning right now - GO!
  21. Well done and nice job Abreu. That play is never easy.
  22. Damn leadoff walks. Team is playing too damn tight.
  23. I haven't though that in a long time. This year I think it and it is. They are getting guys on base, etc...not getting the big hits and playing tight, but it will come. It will definitely come.
  24. I don't think Ricky can survive a poor season. I actually don't know that he survives a poor 1st half of the season (but small sample size and unique circumstance of season might make it hard.
