  1. He can't be traded since he is on the Disabled list, but he'll pass through waivers so the Royals can still get him when he comes off.
  2. I don't want any of the Pads prospects. Other then Khalil Greene or someone like Xavier Nady. Peavy is damn good too. Sox need guys that can help this team win.
  3. Agree with you on that.
  4. Reed plays center. I see him as a Darrin Erstad clone and I guess Backman now sees him in that light too. Erstad would be a heck of a Left fielder. He can also play right. He would play all very good. My thought is Kendall can play left next season while they wait for Reed/Borchard and they also have Lee who could play some games there as well.
  5. PK and Carlos try hard. I give them both credit for that.
  6. But to take Konerko they need to move Klesko or someone. I'd say the only shot is to market him to the Orioles for Ponson. He's showing signs of becoming a force again, and the Sox still have Lee who I'd be just as happy with as having Konerko.

    Olvio

Agreed. I do think if used right you could use those type of guys when the team is winning by a lot or when they are getting their buts kicked (In a mop up role).

    Olvio

I'd give him time in AAA, but I think there is a shot with him. The thing is the Sox don't really have any open slots right now. Some people will get a shot in September for sure though.
  9. The other option if you get Giles and want to keep Lee is moving Everett or moving PK or Thomas with Lee DH'ing along with Everett.

I was saying that Koch has only blown 4 saves this year...but if he is righted...we have 3 guys that can all close if necessary...what we do need is an innings eater out of the pen who won't get shelled a la Glover. ahhh, i see what you are saying, again i meant no offense ok. the thought of waiting for botch to correct himself, it might be too late. we need someone now with the race as close as it is now. i wish rex, mnf were on, we can find out if any of our young arms are ready to pitch 1 or 2 innnings. Rauch and Ginter are the only two ready in AAA. Munoz could be up, but his numbers dont' warrant it. I think Munoz was used so much that he just needs a break and next year he will dominate, probably with the Sox.

    Koch

I saw Jimenez make an unbelievable catch a few nights ago ranging out into foul territory. I also feel Koch will be fine. I think he was overworked, plain and simple.
  12. Thats a great question and I have no idea. Will have to fix it.
  13. Yep, it would be foolish to take Benson considering the Sox don't have a high payroll.
  14. I could only hope so. He wants to stay in the NL, so it will be tough, but the Pirates are just waving the white flag and I don't know why he'd want to stay. If the Sox made the deal they'd be so competitive and he'd be playing in a large market. It would make sense. Plus if he's dealt, doesn't he have the right to demand a trade or something in the next year?
  15. I disagree if the Sox bought some other guys. I also think they could still win if they made this move. The problem is the effect it has on the players. They'd still have to think they could win and that management still has confidence.
  16. Tejada and Matsui (From Japan) are the two best free agent shortstops. In the farm system Hummel is the only guy close enough that could come in and play shortstop next year. They do have some talented guys in A ball and Great Falls though for shortstop, but they won't help for a while.
  17. Yep - and if they want prospects, give them Harris or Rowand, Rauch, Ginter, and someone else for those two. Sox will then move Lee and someone for a reliever or a starter. Or a 3 way where the Sox move Lee to a team who wants him and then uses those prospects and Rauch to land Giles and Kendall.
  18. Cause the A's weren't gonna take Kendall on as well.

    Koch

That movie is worth the 15 bucks or so it costs. Its a true classic

    Koch

He was throwing a 95 MPH that was diving away on lefties. It looked good to me, problem was it was his only pitch that looked good. I still think they can fix this guy.
  21. Thats my plan. Wrote an article on that today, Mario's editing it right now. YASNY, were seeing eye to eye
  22. One guy I like a whole lot is Earvin Santana who pitches for the Angels A affiliate at Rancho Cucumonga.
  23. Damn Threets is a LHP too. Rated 10 by BA while Cain is 11th. As high as 103. They say he is the hardest thrower out their (Majors, Minors, College). They also say thats all he has going for him, so he is a major project right now. Came from Randy Johnsons home town. Great potential, thats for damn sure.
  24. Joe is gonna be awesome. I see him as a very similar player to Scott Rolen.
  25. I can not wait to cast my vote for Arnold. So far the democrats have said they back Davis and wont put anyone on the recall ballot. I doubt that actually happens. The thing is, in a recall, its just majority wins, no one has to have over 50% of the vote or anything like that. I sure hope the people vote Davis out of office. He is a terrible governor.
