Everett and Alomar have reached base every game
Chisoxfn replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Carlos Lee and a reliever prospect. That would be my initial offer and yes I'd be willing to give up Ginter in that package. If they countered, I'd be willing to go as high as Munoz or offer them Lee, Glover and a guy like Majewski if thats what it took. -

Well, I think I'm gonna write an article tonight going in depth of why I think those guys would be great acquisitions and put the team on top. I hope Kenny realizes that names don't mean crap. Urbina per say is a name, but I'd rather have Lightenberg. Look at stats, don't go with a guy simply because he has saves. Insert that guy with great stats and he'll get his saves and his value will inflate to the point that you can get something real good for him when the day comes. Note: I am not saying to make Lightenberg the closer, but more-so saying I don't want Urbina cause closers are over-rated unless they are Gagne, Percival, Smoltz or Rivera. -
I think Rios will pass through waivers and either go to Charlotte or tell the Sox he wants to be released.

I think people in the organization read the site. Whether its Williams or not, who knows. -
Yep, he was making a statement against getting beaned.
-
I agree. One thing Williams has always done fairly well is gotten good lesser known prospects for his guys. I'm putting together a spreadsheet of all his stats right now, gonna have them up in a few minutes.
-
This guy definately has the ability to possibly make it to the majors as a reliever. Despite being older he's had some pretty dominant numbers in the minors. High K's and a .211 OBA.
-
Ya, my bad. For some reason I said Beane, but I meant Art Howe.
-
Welcome aboard. I think it depends on the price, but I could see the Sox trying to re-up with both. If they move Lee, it really means that they may be bringing both back. I do think if they resign the two of them then Colon goes for draft picks. Its even another reason why picking up Ponson would be huge cause it would still mean the Sox had 4 damn good starters, plus Wright in the bullpen who could go back to the rotation.

Fine be that way...all I'm saying is that having a guy that is 11-5 and on base to win 20 and can eat innings and have great stuff is a huge addition. It moves Wright to the pen where he replaces Glover and it brings in another really good late inning guy. Sox would have such a deep bullpen that I'd trust any of those guys in the ninth inning. Heck, you could say that Koch would be the one least trusted and he's our closer. While you could say its a bad thing, it also shows the team would have so much depth in the pen. Then the Sox could acquire one pinch-hitter for the stretch run if necessary. Maybe use Glover. PK or Daubach would be on the bench depending on whose playing with Alomar, one of Harris/Rowand, Graffy and whoever else. That sounds good to me. -
Jose makes his 11th error. I guess nows the game to make them. Minus PK's and Jose's errors this has been a really well played game. Buehrle is pitching a good game, but I'd probably take him out after the 7th. He's pitched a ton of innings lately (Plus he's on less rest). I'd use Sanders and Glover to finish this one up.
-
This O is going to be fine. Rowand and Harris can do the little things and they are nice to have in center. The offense is going to be just fine. They are now a very balanced lineup and the Sox don't need Carlos Lee. Having another good starter and a good reliever is much more important.

These guys are high OBP guys and are great additions. Damn I love Carl Everett. He's my kind of player and Alomar has done really good too. on Kenny. Now please, listen to my idea of getting Ponson/Lightenberg -
I swear the Sox would be ready to win it all if they moved Carlos and a prospect or Glover along with an addition prospect (Carlos Included) for Ponson and Lightenberg. Please KW, screw this big name idea, get guys that will help the team. BOth have great stats and are good pitchers. I could give a damn if they are "big names" they will put this team over the top.

Crede rips a double and Jose is waved home on a close play. Jose looked to slow up a bit, but he still got in. My guess is, we may see a Sox get drilled because of this. I thought it was a good play cause I don't think you ever stop trying to score. You simply don't steal once you have a huge lead. My theory is, Sox blew a game once in the series, so score as much as you can to protect the lead. Nice...Crede scores on an RBI single by Sandy.

They are supposed to be announced today, well the starters are. So I'm guessing that he may be the opening day starter or thats what he's heard. Personally I could care less, I'd rather him pitch an inning of relief or so, so he is fully rested.

SN Report: Sox Trade Jimenez to Reds for Minor Leaguer By Jason Gage July 6, 2003 SoxNet.net/FutureSox.com Opening day second-baseman, D’Angelo Jimenez, was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor league reliever Scott Dunn on Sunday. Jimenez, 25, was designated for assignment after the Sox acquired Roberto Alomar and Carl Everett, giving the Sox 10 days to trade him. Dunn is a 25-year-old AA-pitcher who has spent the season with the Chattanooga Lookouts. This season, Dunn, who has seen time as a starter, has worked as a reliever. In 31 games, Dunn is 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA and eight saves in 40 1/3 innings. Dunn has struck out 54 while walking 16, while holding opponents to a .211 average (31 hits). Dunn was a 10th round pick out of the University of Texas in 1999. The Reds are expected to use Jimenez, who batted .255 with seven homers and 26 RBIs in 73 games this season, as a utility man where he will see time at third base, second base and shortstop. Dunn will likely report to the Birmingham Barons (AA) where he may replace recently traded Royce Ring as the closer. Scouting Report: Dunn, who possesses a mid-90's fastball and a plus knuckle-curve, needs to work on his control to become a true prospect. This season the Reds saw a big improvement on his control and it's a big reason why he's now being considered a legit prospect. In addition to working on control, Dunn needs to work on developing his secondary pitches. Stats: 2003 (Chattanooga-AA): 3-2, 3.79 ERA, 8 SV, 40.1 INN, 31 H, 54 K, 16 BB 2002 (Chattanooga-AA): 5-7, 3.92 ERA, 1 SV, 110.1 INN, 99 H, 114 K, 54 BB 2001 (Chattanooga-AA): 7-2, 4.12 ERA, 98.1 INN, 96 H, 87 K, 71 BB 2001 (Mudville-A): 5-3, 2.11 ERA, 59.2 INN, 73 K, 31 BB 2000 (Clinton-A): 11-3, 3.96 ERA, 147.2 INN, 123 H, 159 K, 89 BB 1999 (Billings-R): 1-3, 4.31 ERA, 39.2 INN, 36 H, 36 K, 24 BB

The X5 is sweet... I'm either getting that or the Infinity FX45 this fall. If my vote matters steff, go with the X5 or the new RX. Those Euro Lights are tight. Cerb, that is gonna be pimp...I'm thinking we have a new car for the roadtrip

Typically the AAA club is the one that stays close. It would make sense to have them all near eachother (Most of the Sox teams are all very close) simply because it means scouts can travel and watch all their guys with a lot more ease.
-
I'm guessing your friend was wondering if that was Rex "the Wonder Dog" Hudler who announces for the Angels and was a former player.
-
Gracious...ya, he can hit the mid 90's and has some potential. Not rated by BA, probably cause he's a little older. In the past he was used as a starter/reliever (Ala SpotStarter). Really good numbers...mainly the Opponents batting average.
-
This has been a game with a ton of hard hits. The homers haven't been pulled so I'm happy with this peformance. The guys are crushing the ball and have done the little things thus far. Nice play by Crede there.
-
I'd say either here or to Charlotte. May depend on who the Rangers are going to take. Birmingham has a 3-day all-star break starting tomorrow, so we may not hear until Thursday. I'd say he's replacing Royce Ring.
-
Where did you find this Cerb? This guy looks pretty good. I got a report going up on SoxNet as we speak. Trying to find out what he throws. Judging by his k numbers I'm guessing he's got a great arm.
