Well, I don't know jack about writing a resume but I'm going to my college on the 7th of July and when I'm there I'll ask the counselor if they have some info on resumes which I could pass onto you (Mainly the format). I think the key is just to have the proper format and you fill in the rest. I have a resume that I use, but I wouldn't recommend it since I have no idea whether its right or wrong.
  2. He was with the Royals last year. Don't know if they kept him. Damn did that guy have the talent to be good. That kid has sick speed.

I'm with ya, the Wave blows.

    Double Stuff Rock.
  5. No idea, but I know someone predicted it would happen on July 4th and that could turn out to be pretty accurate. Either way its historic.
  6. Defensively though, Brown is rather weak. He has gotten into much better shape though, since he was drafted. Still what a stupid move. He was a 20th round pick or so...if that and you take him in the 1st. If you like him so much take him in the 5th for cripe sake, u know no one else is going to take him by then.
  7. HE could also clear waivers and go to AAA.

Looks like a solid lineup to me.

I figure Paul will be on their roster pretty quick, otherwise he wouldn't of signed with him. I am sure Paul had a decent amount of phone calls.
  10. I think they will take their draft picks. Glass has said he's willing to spend money, just not ridiculous amounts. Beltran doesn't really want to stick around so they'll offer him arb, if he comes back fine, if he doesn't they get picks and will go after someone else, imo.
  11. Lets wait till the date. Now to end this curse, the thread is locked and will be reopened after the regular season ends.
  12. They are asking for a mountain for Beltran. Basically he's staying put and they'll offer him arbitration unless they get a hell of an offer.
  13. Thats exactly the way I saw it. Ya his non "scouty" guys are performing now, but I want to see what happens once they reach the majors. Guys that aren't the best athlete can get by in the minors, but it really takes the best of the best to play at the major league level and you got to be the very best to do it sucessfully. I also hate the idea that he just takes hitters and could give a damn about everything else. The coolest part to me is when Paul Deposedta comes up with his stat to show a players worth and how much runs they would score if a team is all full of that one player (Includes defense, etc). Don't want to spoil it since you may not of been to that part. That part really made sense to me.
  14. That makes some sense. I wonder why the Royals didn't do it. I'm guessing that the Mets were trying to get more from the Royals and then fall back on the Sox who upped the offer to Ring so they knew they'd get him.
  15. First off welcome aboard. I don't get to go to the cell since i'm in SoCal, but typically when their is a larger crowd there are more casual fans. The larger crowd can be a downer since more casual fans means you have to see the damn wave, but it is an upper to the players, plus it could be a way of converting casual fans to real fans. Plus, for the Sox to spend money (According to JR) the fans need to show up. I do believe if they draw great size crowds, he's more then willing to have a 70 or even 80 mill payroll.

Thats a good idea Heather. I think Harris has a little bit of time to keep hitting otherwise he'll be a backup with the Sox for the rest of the season. I want Daubbie playing a lot and him and Everett would give the Sox two damn good lefty hitters, plus when Jose is hot he's a heck of a lefty and then we got Alomar at the top.
  17. Ya, after reading it I lost a lot of respect for Billy Beane. I don't really think he's all that great. I think part of what he does is really cool. I like Paul Deposta or however you spell it more.
  18. I think they both can do that. But if no one claimed them than I don't think they'd want to go. In regards to Jimenez, I wonder if KW talked to him and said we want you here, we need you to work on somethings and you will be back up here. Remember, Jose is going to be gone at the end of the season and Alomar may or may not be here. They may also start concentrating on teaching him short, working on bunting, etc. This is all just a guess, but I'd be shocked if no one claimed him, which is why I thing the Trib reported this wrong.
  19. Yep, he's a future rightfielder or leftfielder. Most likely right. Joe will make it, I'm confident in that.
  20. May not be able to play center full time, but I'd say he could do it. He could play right, but doesn't quite have the arm for it and would be an excellent left fielder. I'd say his future is in left, especially if Anthony Webster develops as well. He would be a good centerfielder or a great leftfielder. Mediocre right fielder. The guy is my favorite position player. I love it when guys draw walks as thats a skill that is so tough to teach and its a skill so important at the major league level (Can't ya tell I just finished reading Moneyball, lol). Reed will be in the show next year, mark my words. He may shock everyone and be the starting centerfielder next year. He's that good, imo.
  21. Trib reported that they were sent to the minors. Does this mean they cleared waivers, if so I'm shocked that Jimenez made it and I'm happy we aren't losing him.
  22. Reed is shooting up the system. The guy has a great knack to get on base and in my opinion despite all the hype about Brown (A's system) Reed is a much better prospect.

I've only noticed that the players have been going up the middle more and for that I give Walker credit. Also give the players credit for doing it.
  24. Ya I heard the Mets told Alomar he can't bunt nor could he steal. This really ticked him off as part of his style is being agressive. Billy Beane preached this to Howe for years and finally that style stuck with Art.

Paul will probably get some playing time. *I'm going to move this in with the other thread on Paul*
