My Road Trip
The Souvenir Cups are what I always keep. In Philly I had the Cheesesteak too, simply because its Philly, and it was pretty good, but if your in Philly, go to Pats. Best Cheesesteaks and get it with Cheese Wiz! Damn was that good. Camden Yards has really good food too, had a bbq chicken sandwich there. Boston's food was definately bland, but the good thing was like you say you can eat out on the street with all the vendors and that makes it good. I think the Cubs would be smart to incorporate something like that. Of course I didn't enjoy Fenway Park. My favorite old time park was Tiger stadium. I didn't like Fenway because I was in crammed in seats and it was 110 degrees with a ton of humidity. Was sweating the entire game, so it wasn't quite a comfortable atmosphere. Still, there is a cool "awe" to being in the stadium.

Philly Fanatic is definitely the king of mascots, it's not even close. Usually i hate that extra stuff at a ballgame, but he even had me laughing. On that same note, Mr. Met absolutely sucks I just remember seeing the Fanatic ride out on his atv onto the field and he was flying and there was something about him that had me laughing my ass off the entire time.

Sounds like you had a blast. When you were in Philly did you get to see the Philly Fanatic? In my opinion, he is one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a baseball game.

Interesting trade idea
We drafted Bobby Hill in the 2nd round I think. He held out and then the Cubs took him the very next year.

Interesting trade idea
I wouldn't do it if I were the Cubs. Stud pitching beats Stud hitting. I do think thats as fair as it would get though. I don't think there could be any straight up trade that would be closer. I happened to be thinking yesterday of what the Cubs would think of with this package. Jose Valentin and Bartolo Colon to the Cubs (Or Mark Buehrle) and the Sox get Carlos Zambrono and Juan Cruz or that Guzman kid in return. I was also thinking that since the Cubs have fallen out of favor with Bobby Hill that he could be had for Jose Valentin and a reliever. Although this would be a very tough sell. Thats a rip off deal! why would the Sox even consider that deal! Val and Bart to the Cubs for anyone is a rip! I dunno, to me Zambrono is going to be the best of all the Cubs pitchers. The guy is flat filthy and I think he's only 20 or 21.

I wouldn't want Bobby Hill and Scott Borass on the southside. We already had the disaster of drafting that no talent ass clown. No thank you. Well, I want to find a way to get Carlos Zambrono. I'd love having him on our pitching staff. He's a younger, cheaper Bartolo Colon in a sense. He has an amazing arm and is a workhorse. Plus throw in Cruz and you get two dynamite arms. I think if the Sox gave the Cubs a hitter or two and Colon they could lure some damn good players.

Just finished Beane's book.
Nah, I'll partake in the corn picking hodowns I just won't be sleeping during the boring plane ride. If only I was flying Jet Blue, too bad they don't fly many places yet.

Minor League Boxes for Sunday
Rogowski has really got his average rolling after a pretty slow start (Going off memory). Seems to me he's getting healthy and I think we'll see his average climb to around .300 and then he'll get promoted, possibly. If I recall, a lot of teams don't do much late promoting other then for a spot start or two, simply because they don't want to hurt a teams shot at winning. Rex, am I right on that?

Just finished Beane's book.
I'm doing the same. Going to read most of it when I go to Iowa with the family this weekend.

Adkins has been pitching up a storm lately. Still not better then two first rounders though. But KW had no way of knowing that draft pick compensation wasn't going to get axed.

SOx sign Valido, Hummel on rise
Brumbauhg is no longer with the Knights. His contract was sold to a Japanese team.

All of the Momentum.....
I don't think this loss loses the momentum. What I've noticed is the Sox aren't pulling the ball near as much anymore and because of that they are able to get guys over, etc. I really see a difference in the fact that the players must know, you screw up on a play that needs to be done (Little Ball Type Stuff) then your going to get benched, etc. I also think Walker's stuff is starting to come into effect a bit.

Koch
He's been throwing 95 plus lately. Also, did anyone else notice how much higher the readings are on Wrigley's radar. I know Marte throws hard, but he's almost always 91-92 and today his fastball was 94.
-
good thing everyone ripped manuel
Good thing I said that there was no problem with that move simply because Marte has been dominant all season. I never second guess someone when they put in the best reliever and they fail. I would if it was a case where he had pitched a lot or if you had Koch up at the same time and were going for a righty righty match-up, etc.

Anderson and King
I'm assuming, if I recall he's a very good student and he's one of the top recruits in their class, so I'd be guessing he has very close to a full ride. But thats not too important since having him sign means he doesn't get any type of scholarship other then for grades and if he gets big money I don't see him qualifying for financial aid.

Anderson and King
Were less then 500K off. The Sox have an offer of 500 thousand on the table according to BA. The Sox offered him 500 K during the draft and he turned it down and supposedly they haven't taken that offer away. I don't think they are more then 150 K off, but thats an estimate.

Scott Rolen
I notice Harris does a lot of leg first slides.

Hot Stove talk
Blalock or Textiera are mandatory in that deal. We could let Blalock play 2nd and move Jimenez to short or simply move Jimenez elsewhere. In regards to Jose, what the hell are we doing playing him. There is no freaking way I ever want to see the Sox give him that option. That would be beyond stupid.
