  1. Wow this went waaaaaaayy off topic, and got extra hostile.
  2. Chris, I know he's one of your guys and I hope he comes through. This will be a big year for him cause if he does things right, he'll be in the Southside next year.
  3. "a 1 in 2 innings"? a hit thats what I meant to say, lol. Been a long day.
  4. Chisoxfn, Since you live very near Anaheim Stadium, I'll assume you've been there more than once. Where's a good place to sit? I've been to 2 games there, so I really don't know a whole lot about it. I want to get my Sox/Halos tix ordered soon so I don't have to worry about getting them later. Any input is appreciated. Oh ya, last year went to like 25 games. Umm, pretty much any seat is a good one as long as your near the field. Upper deck isn't too steap and if you sit somewhere between the bases your set. If your in the outfield, its difficult to see all parts of the field. The family zone is good if you want to go cheaper. Terrace and Field are both really nice though.
  5. Oops meant to say he gave up a 1 in 2 innings.
  6. At Anaheim Stadium it is real easy, the ushers walk down the aisles and give them to you, otherwise you can find them in holders all around the stadium.
  7. Stewart and Rauch are the two they are looking at. I don't think Heredia has much of a chance but who knows. They expected to already know whether he would be sticking around. I'd also count Matt Ginter as a possible starter if things get out of hand. Hopefully we won't have to worry about these things. Oh ya, I'll mention Felix Diaz as well. The one thing I like is that the Sox aren't going to have to rush many prospects anymore, which means the pitchers and hitters can take their time in the minors, making adjustments, etc.
  8. I think the Sox lost 4-2. Koch gave up his first run of the spring in the ninth, although he didnt pitch bad. I think Loiaza start and gave up 3 runs in the first. Danny Wright through 2 innings and gave up a hit. Most people seem to be having trouble with real so who knows. Tomorrow I'll try updating everyone on most of the game since I won't be at work or busy with school stuff (At least i hope I won't)

I couldn't find it either Steff. They must of removed it.
  10. Ya, the Sox haven't been involved in any trade rumors that I know of. The only thing semi mentioned was the fact that a few teams (Namely the Orioles) would be interested in Carlos Lee. I'd say it looks pretty safe that the Sox won't be making any moves, unless they are acquiring a backup catcher of some sort. They seem to have depth in almost every area and don't have much reason for concern other then to hope this team finally plays to its potential.

This stuff is still taped. I really believe that Saddam is dead. If he was alive he'd likely come out and make concrete statements so people wouldn't question whether he is alive or not. I guess if he wants to hide, then he should act like he's dead.

no,. not related - just everyone who knows me personally knows what a fan I am and "that's my man" is a phrase I use a lot - and the one thing we have in common in the three generations of my family is Eminem - my Marine son is a huge fan and I know he'll be happy, his son my grandson is a huge fan because I am and his step father is a huge fan too - the one thing we all agree on and I know my Marine is going to smile when he hears the news about the Oscar win and he needs a smile right now - I could have posted that more cogently I guess but I was just excited - I swear CW, your family is one of a kind of it must be. I'm not poking fun or anything, ya know I think your AWESOME. I just know when I'm in your area, I expect your entire family to start just rapping

Murcie pretty much summed up my feelings. I don't see any battle. Mario, Me, Mark and everyone else that helps out enjoy what were doing and we love giving all you awesome people info. I think its great that the Sox have two awesome sites devoted to eachother. Why there has to be a battle and such, who knows. All I know, and speaking for the staff of SoxNet, we aren't in a "battle" with WSI; We do our thing, they do theirs and our only goals are to continue making this site better and better for all our members/readers.

Butler is the team thats really impressing me. They came back from a big time defecit and were getting hammered. They showed resiliency and that they can run with some of the best.
  16. I agree with Dibbler on his ideas, but it all comes down to Wright. If he isn't healthy then I see no point in rushing him and believe that Stewart can handle himself. I do think Stewart would benefit from more time and think that he could surprise people and enter our rotation eventually. This guy has really turned it on since last year and if he continues to grow, then he's got a good future, even if scouts don't drool over him.
  17. If we could do it legally we probably would find a way. But there is always SnR a couple times a week.
  18. Ya, sometimes you never know what a thread turns into, lol. I see it as a good thing cause it shows that so many people here like to discuss other things and typically get along.

Well I'm going to move this to off-topic. After all I think the first post was about the only one in regards to baseball. Me, I wouldn't go out with a girl that smokes for the simple reason that I can't stand the smell of smoke nor do I smoke. I have nothing wrong with them and I can be friends with anyone that smokes, but nothing more, unless I can convince them to quit, lol. I also got no problem with Tatoos other then the fact that I don't and won't get one. 1. They are too permanent for me 2. I'm a sissy and am afraid of needles; Also why I'd never shoot up any drugs Now if you got them all over your body then it probably means something, I'm talking those people with like body tats or whatever they call them.

I cant believe that I'm actually defending Sosa on this, but there have been many players that never led their team to consistent winning teams. Take a guy like ARod for example, we all know his numbers, yet the Rangers weren't even a .500 ballclub last season. It doesn't take one great hitter to get to the playoffs, it takes a whole team, which is what the Cubs don't have. Do the Angels have just one big impact player? No, they have a whole team of impact players that led them to the World Series Championship. The only reason that I am willing to take Sosa on my team is that he's a great hitter. He may very well be on steroids, and I know hes the biggest b**** theres is, but I will take him for the offense that he can provide us with. So what about the DBacks in 2001? They didn't have 1 impact player...they had 2.....but that's essentially what won them the World Series. Regarding ARod....not only is he in the toughest division in the majors....but he had nothing for pitching around him. If Park can pitch decently this year....the Rangers could be an 85 win team. They have a stronger pen....and have a formidable 1-2-3 punch with Park, Valdes, and Thomson. Sosa's actually had some pitching around him at times....and he does this year. He should also have a decent offense around him as well....let's see how he does this year. Offensive players and pitchers are two different areas. It doesn't matter how good an offensive player is if they got crap pitching. Having two aces can do so much cause its almost a guaranteed win two out of five and they hope they play semi .500 with the other three. Remember, Gonzo had a monster year, Finley was good, so it still wasn't just a two man show. Plus in the playoffs, two starters can take you a very very long way.
  21. Chisoxfn replied to Soxfest's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That was a different Sammy Sosa and there is a difference then Sammy Sosa at that time by himself then Frank Thomas and Albert Belle still in pretty much their prime. Frank Castillo isn't a pitcher. We had Darwin who was solid and a lot of injuries, but wasn't that one of the years the cubs had no closer or anything?
  22. Chisoxfn replied to Soxfest's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That is a completely absurd statement. We had one of the best pitching staffs some of the years the Sox dominated, with the cy young award winner, etc. We also had Ventura and some other sluggers and quality guys like Raines, one Dog, Harold Baines, etc.
  23. Chisoxfn replied to Soxfest's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I dunno. Baseball isn't like so many sports in the sense that one player can carry a team. It is a team sport. Basketball you can kind of have that happen because there are only 5 players, but in baseball there are 9 starters plus a bullpen and bench and they all have integral parts of the team. I can't believe that people really think that Sosa doesn't help the Cubs and that he wouldn't help the Sox. I know people can complain about his attitude, but he doesn't really have much of one. I think he is a bit me oriented, but he does want to win and he works hard and plays his butt off.
  24. But I don't have any of that stuff and can still listen. You guys should try opening the real player beforehand and then clicking on the listen button on mlb and see if that helps.
