  1. I like them both, but probably Taj cause he can play 4 & 5.
  2. Taj reportedly on Bulls radar. Would be a good vet move presuming price is right. Knows how to win. Him plus Beverly and picks might be the reality. Gives you leadership and steady presence without tying up long term cap space.
  3. I'm in your exact camp. Mainly because the price the Bulls pay seems too steap and in general I like Lavine and think he absolutely has upside and that upside is still high. He's made massive strides every year (where he was 100%) in this league and with his work ethic and talent, I'll make that bet (relatively speaking). In general, I think staying status quo and adding a Brogdon (plus our pick) makes this a playoff team. Brogdon could be a move that impedes our cap longer term though. Lavine is a contract (barring injury) that I don't see getting in the way (given how much the cap is growing and the strides Lavine made).
  4. Bulls are supposedly extremely high on him (as are the Hawks). Lots of info out there though so who knows. Team could dangle Dunn plus 7 to move up a couple spots and Hawks have 3 1st rounders that they can play with to move around.
  5. Lakers didn’t look like their pick would be 4th overall back in February.
  6. The real gem guy who said the opposite is legit, but did say he isn't as connected as before.
  7. By the way, there is supposedly zero truth to the rumor previously mentioned regarding the Bulls moving Lavine/7 for Ball & 4.
  8. Worst nba finals in history of the nba. Sucks that two stars suffered major injuries. Sucks.
  9. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/butlebr01.shtml Small guy who was a heck of a top of the order hitter. Just 54 homers in 17 seasons (4 per year). Put up 50 WAR and wasn't a plus defender. You don't have to hit hr to be a great hitter.
  10. I think there is still subjectively to where Lavine plays out, but given his performance last year, I'd say the notion that eh is overpaid is likely wrong. He is too good of a scorer and does a lot of other things to say he's overpaid. Whether he can take it to the next level, etc, that is another question. I think all of this depends on what else the Bulls intend to do because I like Lavine. If they make this deal, they are punting further down the road and in a spot that they are tanking again this year (unless they are doing something else in free agency). I can see reasons to make the move though. I prefer the notion that they offer the #7, Lavine, and WCJ for Davis and take a chance. Than go after one other big free agent and take your chance that you can convince AD to stay. Go big or go home.
  11. Keuchel wasn't signing with the Sox. He wanted to go to a contender where he'll have eyes on him and a better opportunity to parlay his performance into the contract he wants. He very much could still be an option for the Sox next year though. I get complaining but the Sox not getting Keuchel is nothing to really get that upset about, imo. If they don't spend this off-season, than people have every right to be truly ticked. Last off-season I get the frustration given the expectations...but the team was still a year away. With the progress they've made thus far this season, the timeline requires them to make a big investment this off-season because the team has flashed enough to indicate it is ready.
  12. I'm excited. I liked Bleday a lot but Vaughn's swing is just stellar. This offense has the potential to be really really good in 2 years (and for a long time).
  13. I am assuming they saved a bit with Thompson. Will be interesting to see if they save a bit with Vaughn too. Could enable them to grab one or two more prep arms.
  14. I am okay with this. I believe the Sox know how to draft and develop pitching.
  15. This could be the Sox trying to push an underslot agenda as well.
  16. This could be the Sox trying to push an underslot agenda as well.
  17. We'll see if that holds true or if it is a negotiation tactic.
  18. I don’t believe that rumor has any actual fact.
  19. I like Bleday a lot. Think he's going to be a really really good ball player. That said, I think almost everyone the Sox have on their board I like. Most all of the guys can make an impact on both sides of the ball, with the lone exception being Vaughn and in his case, that hit tool is special so I get it if they go with them. For once in a long time, I literally don't think they can go wrong with who they pick.
  20. Those days Rey Lo passed the eye test and was crushing it. He's just got development to go. Development takes time and I have confidence he will be a good pitcher in this league. Great, I can't say, but I think he's going to have quite a few good years in this league.
  21. Add Patrick Beverly on the room MLE and you increase your depth a lot.
  22. They could always flip Porter elsewhere (say in a Conley Jr. deal). That said, Buckets can play point guard a bit and Porter can defend the 3 and in the modern NBA can also play the 4 a bit as well. It isn't a normal lineup but if you had Butler, Lavine, Porter, Mark, and Carter Jr, you should be a pretty good defensive team and you have a number of guys who can bring up the ball (albeit no natural point guard). I won't project championships with that roster and I could see it being challenging at times, but I could also see it working and being pretty solid (and from there you hope the younger guys grow and / or you eventually deal a few of the other players for another star via trade).
  23. As Jimmy Bucket's #1 fan, I find it interesting that Boylan and Buckets reportedly had dinner yesterday. I'm sure it was more the two of them catching up than anything to do with the Bulls making a play to bring Jimmy back.
