First off welcome aboard. Secondly, its just Sox management. We all sit and hope and wait that the Sox will bring in a quality starting pitcher, or even someone like Rick Helling or Robert Person that could step in and provide a veteran presence, but even that is doubtful. I still am holding out at the possibility of getting Colon.

I never heard about Joey Cora juicing it. He had a pretty good major league career though.

I'm not sure, I think they are a bit backwards from the conversion cause I think its supposed to be the order you signed up, but I know you were on the very first to sign up and I was the first, but my number is way back near yours. I don't think their is any true importance to it though.

Sorry bout that, we thought we had to be close to it at first, then we found out we could sit back real far and it would come in clearer. Of course we still have a lot to learn. THANKS FOR LISTENING EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, that was real fun. Gary and I had a blast, just put all your feedback and comments here or message us (Bullsback and Alawicious1786) or email us at [email protected] Sorry bout the technical difficulties but were going to work hard on solving them.

I remember Magglio's rookie year. I didn't have a clue who that guy was, he came up and absolutely tore the cover off the ball. Can anyone tell me if he was actually highly thought or anything? I thought he was just a call up that ended up shocking the world, but at that time I was about 13 and didn't know anything about the minors like I do now.

Yep, one of the worse trades in Cubbie History, or it could be if Garland keeps growing and ends up living up to his hype.
-
I'd look for Jose Cruz. Jr, but Finley would be a good veteran pickup. Of course, he's on the way downside of his career, but he's really good defensively, has a ring, and is a great leader. I don't want to do it if it costs us a first round pick though. I also love the idea of Palmerio.

This team isn't as bad as advertised, but having Bartolo Colon would make it a huge upgrade.

Ya, its Cy Young Porzio

Very well written. I think the Sox have a real good shot right now.

Latest Update I heard today on the radio from one of the beat people that the owners are talking and are having a meeting to force the Expos to get their payroll down and they'll have 3 days to do it. That means Vazquez and Colon must go and the Marlins are supposedly out of the race as are the Red Sox, although both still must be considered as possibilities. Still...this makes me even more excited, cause when your forced to make a deal and everyone knows it, it means they won't get as good of value.
-
Wow, if we got two of them...I'd do Garland, Malone, Diaz, and a relieving prospect for Vazquez and Colon.
-
Its no longer on the main page, so I'm going to have to ask Murcie to email it to me, then I'll get it set up.
-
I'll do it right now..I am so very forgetful.

I'm gonna make my predictions on the show tomorrow.

Johnson won't be going first round.

Brad Penny has been marked by all teams. Every gm out their has the fear that he's already done serious damage to his arm and will most likely miss plenty of games if not seasons. He was overworked and consequently they fear his arm has been ruined. I look only to the Expos or free agency right now. Of course if Penny can be had for next to nothing, I'd definately do it.

It was supposed to, but those plans were axed as they had so much trouble getting the new labor deal, they decided not to bother with that aspect for another year or so. They are supposed to be discussing that this offseason, but I haven't heard of them doing so.
-
They used him during spring training. I think I watched him pitch that year, but if I recall the Sox were cautios with him from the get go. I'm not going to blame nardi for that, then again I hate knowing that he even touched the guy.

But I think that's the whole point of the All-Star Game; to reward players for a solid half by letting them take part in a game with the rest of the stars. Does anyone get heartbroken when the American League loses? I sure as hell don't; I get a bigger rush watching Paul Konerko rip a double or watching Maggs blast a bomb off Jon Leiber. The All-Star Game is an exhibition, it shouldn't matter for anything more than entertainment value. I don't really care who wins to be honest. You are doing a nice job convincing me that this may not be such a great idea. I like seeing the Sox players excell, but most importantly I just like watching the stars of the league make great plays.

I just don't like the idea that it rotates each year between an AL team and an NL team. Of course, I also don't want to see any injuries occur. I'm all for carrying a couple reserver players (Keep a couple of the minor leaguers on hand to participate if needed) I know the Minor League All Stars are their and it would be an awesome experience for a couple of them. Also Doublem, remember, if this is the case, the games will be managed a lot different next year. They won't be looking to get everyone in and they will keep a ton of guys in case it goes extra innings.
-
Well I feel better about our rotation then most. I got a lot of confidence in Jon Rauch and I think wright, Garland and Buerhle are a pretty good top of the rotation. It would be an awesome top of the rotation if you throw Colon into that mix, with Rauch on the backend. I like Biddle a lot and I think he's earned a shot, but he's a huge questionmark in my book cause he's never proven to me he can throw innings and go deep into games. Wright and Garland have done so, as has Buerhle and I think Rauch will be able to do so.

Ya, thats another reason its a good move.

this is larry beinfest GM of the marlins. the article can be found here Thats good news. I love hearing all these teams drop out. Don't ask me why, cause I'm just getting my hopes up, but man, I'm just so stinking optimistic about getting Colon and having a shot at going to the series. This is going to be the most I'd be willing to give up for Colon though. Corwin Malone, Brian West, and Tim Hummell. I'd also consider Corwin Malone, Felix Diaz, and Tim Hummell. I'd hold off on giving them Hummell, but whatever it takes to get this deal done without giving up top prospects.
