Here is a Surprise
Plus, last I looked, I thought Kieshnick got signed by someone else. Someone check me on that though. I know he was a minor league free agent.

Hey, she's also an excellent looking gal.

From BA
Weaver wanted to go to college. While, Hill had Boras and some feared he'd hold out again when the Cubs picked him.

Sometimes guys don't sign. You can look at any organization in baseball and it happens. Other times you draft guys hoping you can convince them to play, but if they would rather go to college you take that chance. I actually think the Sox spend more on their farm system than 99% of all the teams in the majors.

What luxury tax? Yankees sign Contreras
Just used 40 million as an example Cerb. I know, but 32 million is a joke as well. Here's to hoping Contreras is another Yoshii. :metal Or even better, IRABU

What luxury tax? Yankees sign Contreras
Chicago fans would hate Steinbrenner. So many people don't realize that the fans in New York city can't watch the Yankees unless they buy a satellite dish. it isn't offered on cable. Ya, don't most fans whine about Mr. Wirtz who does the same thing? Of course George spends a lot of money. The one thing I do like is he tries to win, he's just an idiot though and makes so many stupid moves, but when you have 150 mill payroll you can afford to make mistakes on about 50% of their signings. I'd pass on George, I'd want cuban. The guy treats his fans first class, and he treats his players first class.

What luxury tax? Yankees sign Contreras
How is spending money to hopefully contend foolish? Would JR be a fool if he dished out $40,000,000 to outbid the Yanks for Contreras' services? Everyone on this board would be thrilled that JR FINALLY spent some money..... hosts of others would post BS about how JR has finally committed himself to winning. And what if Contreras lives up to the hype? What if he is the second-coming of Pedro? Is Steinbrenner still the fool? Was signing him to that contract foolish then? Everyone on this board loves to trash the Yankees but not one, NOT ONE, wouldn't want Steinbrenner to own the White Sox. Did you see that coming? It would be foolish because they'd be tying all that money to a guy that hasn't proven a thing. If they were going to spend that time of money they would of been better served getting Millwood. Just cause you got money don't mean you blow it foolishly. I think that Godzilla signing was good and the Contreras one was good, but they could also blow up. The Yanks are about the only team that can afford a blow up, the Sox can't.

And more pitching to come BA
He'll start in Birmingham, most likely, although he didn't have much time in high A ball so they could start him their. He won't see AAA this year though. He may get a shot next year at the main club, but he won't see AAA till next year, most likely.

Merry Sox-Mas everyone
Ya, Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!

Scott Kazmir is a lucky, lucky bastard
He's also a damn good pitcher.

And more pitching to come BA
All the prospects come from somewhere. At lower levels you don't know what to expect. To me, you really got to wait till AA, then you can figure things out much more closely.

What luxury tax? Yankees sign Contreras
Are you serious? Stupid Yanks, going around screwing up payrolls again.
-
What luxury tax? Yankees sign Contreras
Good grief, 8 million per. He's getting 32 million, guaranteed. The Yanks are a true joke. Well, Clemens is officially available.

You Decide: Changes Coming to Soxtalk?
Ya, the invbb board has about 10 less queries which should mean even quicker load times.

JC and BC
Personally, I think JC is our better point guard. I like the way the offense runs with him their as compared to Jwill. So far JWill hasn't done a damn thing. I still think we should of went after Dunleavy. Williams isn't a good shooter, but I am hoping he will work hard and learn and come out a much better player next year. Still, Crawford is so much more complete because he can shoot and he seems less afraid when it comes to driving the ball, while Jay Will can penetrate so well, but seems like he doesn't want to do it because he wants to pass. Thats fine and dandy, but the Bulls need points and if you can collapse the d, you will set up a lot more assists.

Anyone have Xbox Live?
DJ...I don't even have a clue who has Xbox on soxtalk. I just know I got ps2

Good stuff LDF. This team is getting very strong in the lower parts of the system when it comes to position players, something the Sox haven't had in a while.
-
And more pitching to come BA
Well, thats pretty good numbers for a guy straight out of highschool. He also has a very good fastball, and when anyone has a good fastball mixed with a good changeup, then you should be hard to beat, especially as your control improves. To me he sounds real good.

Catalanotto a FA
Nope, I don't think its him, but those Molina's sure know how to catch.
