Doug Collins didn't say it directly, but with all the various things he talked about...he certainly indicted some things that Hoiberg clearly lacks that great coaches have. IF you have a chance, listen to Doug Collins interview on ESPN 1000. Guy knows his stuff.

This is like Marc Trestman bad. That or maybe I've become Mr. overreaction vs. the typical rational person I tend to think I am. There is no trust, no unity in this organization...none. And absolutely zero accountability. Just think back to the stories where people were afraid Gar was bugging the offices...how the hell does that guy stick around.
-
We can't go into the deadline and let people who shouldn't be around a year from now make these moves. I hope JR is listening to Doug Collins interview right now and how much negative things he's saying about the Bulls...says a lot given how much Doug Collins loves the Bulls. It is bigger then that...he's ripping the defense, he's ripping the culture, the soap opera stance, etc.

JR should hire Doug Collins as a special advisor. Really really like Doug. By the way, here is what I see happening...Bulls will hire Mitch Kupcheck as there next GM in the off-season. Doug Collins was pretty honest...basically said it is pretty much that you can't repair what has happened. God, listening to Doug Collins and other legitimate coaches just gets me more freaking angry about how terrible Hoiberg is. Such a joke. There are high school basketball coaches know more about coaching then Fred. There was an interesting quote a while back from one of the LA Times writers on Hoiberg and he said he never saw a team tune out his players more then Iowa State did to Fred Hoiberg. I have no idea what it was related to, but evidently he had heard something that even at Iowa State (where he was obviously lived and will be welcome back with open arms), the players knew he really wasn't a great coach. He won at ISU because he was a great recruiter and brought them really good talent. College and Pro's are such a different dynamic.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 10:06 AM) Moves only need to be made after THE move is made - Firing Pax and Forman. I just don't see Pax getting the axe, but I think Forman / Fred need to be gone. Period. Unless they all secretly had some secret off-season plan and everything is going like they told JR in a closed room and we are all just getting duped, haha.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 10:03 AM) Wade on whether Hoiberg has control of the locker room: "You'll have to ask Fred that." That is just hillarious. It is so clear how neutered Fred is. The interesting thing is, Wade does not have any reputation of being anything but an amazing teammate, so to me, the fact that it got to the point he had to publicly put everyone on blast, tells me a hell of a lot. I realize what he did was wrong...but this is a guy who is extremely well respected in the league, so things had to get pretty bad to get to this point. Interesting that Butler was largely pretty quiet when it came to everything...yes he said a few things, but it is almost like Wade told Jimmy, look, you got more to lose, so let me light everyone up over this.

Moves are absolutely going to have to be made. Period. This isn't getting better without moves getting made. Now that can't happen overnight, with exception of clearing out Fred / Gar / Pax (which I am fine with). I've said for a long time, I just can't imagine Pax getting the ax, but I might be wrong.

Wade is meeting the media and specifically says he has no hard feelings towards Rondo and that he has NO REGRETS about what he said. Doug Collins will be on ESPN 1000 in about 5 minutes, so that might be interesting.

QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 09:52 AM) The PR guy in me is just rolling my eyes. What an awful move. If you aren't going to answer any questions, why not just issue a statement. I don't know what else he could have / should have said, but if you are going to put him out, you need to address questions, imo.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) I wish we could go back to the days of me and you arguing over the medical staff simpler times Seriously. But at least the Bulls front office can unify us all
-
Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Shouldn't expect anything less. Gar is worthless. We are extremely dissapointed and talked to everyone....oh man, awful.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) Gar is going to talk to the media in a little while. That should go great Yep...fabulous. Tells me nothing changing.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 05:13 PM) I think I miss Tim Floyd? Floyd could coach. He didn't work in the NBA, but Floyd has legitimate coaching talent. Del Negro and Hoiberg don't have that talent. Hoiberg could recruit in college and that helped him...at the NBA level he is getting eaten alive. He can't manage a clubhouse, can't execute, and to be frank, we thought he was a good communicator but he's had disasterous communication run-ins too. The rotations are terrible, the development is terrible, plays out of time out are terrible...he clearly can't get people to play hard, etc (not saying that is entirely his fault), but I literally see nothing positive about Fred. He is one of the biggest disasters I can ever remember as a NBA head coach...and he gets paid 5M/yr.

Evidently Rondo has been close with the young players on the Bulls roster (dating back to when he was out at the summer league with some of them). KC Johnson indicating that the young players on the team like Rondo a lot. Friedell blasting front office saying everything is their fault. They kept Rondo around after benching him, etc (despite no one clearly communicating him) and knew the potential consequences to keeping him around and further, they were the ones who built the team with this flawed roster and who hired the coach.
-
The worst part of all of this is, you know how we had a lousy reputation to get free agents, dating back to the Jordan era....Wade was going to help that. Now if he comes here and walks away after a year telling everyone what a cluster this organization is...it will take a long time and some major changes until that stigma goes away.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 05:08 PM) I'm on team Rondo here. What he said was better...but he did the same thing he said vets aren't supposed to do...which is blast everything public. They are all wrong but all of this is further evidence of the massive issues that already exist, whether it is the lack of leadership and accountability from the head coach to the disasterous roster building of the front office. Changes need to be made...period. Can't all happen over night, but the Bulls need to wise up. One other thing I will say is, I have no idea how often Butler / Wade had already given some sort of strong message to the team in a non-public fashion so maybe they view it as, we've talked to them privately about expecting more and weren't seeing it so they finally went to this new extreme and went further. To be honest, I think Rondo could just as well have is own self interest and looking at this as the perfect opportunity to get a ticket out of here. I would think there is at least a chance that Gar/Hoiberg are gone before they play tomorrow.

Depending on the outcome, who knows, we could look back on last night and today's drama and refer to it as a great day in franchise history
-
Apparently all of this is getting a ton of play on NBA pregame show. Shaq burying Hoiberg and Chuck and others slamming Bulls leaders and siding with Rondo. You can't just sit around quietly...maybe the lack of a statement is a good thing because JR is so pissed he's working on what / who he is going to hold accountable and thus he is waiting till everything is finalized before coming out with something.
-
I think Rondo's blast had more to do with Wade then Butler. Wade has taken days off practice, taken plays off, and from some other reports, it sounds like they already had a lot of run-ins. Butler jumping in after Wade started the process, I think was him backing up his best friend and a vet who has taken Jimmy under his wing. Such a s*** show.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) Why is GarPax silent? According to Cowley they are so irate that they are going to buyout Rondo. Seems to miss the bigger point of the whole mess. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/rajon-r...ade-on-twitter/

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 04:05 PM) Jimmy and Wade pulled a dick move going to the press last night with the we did our jobs no one else did theirs BS. That is not leadership. Rondo, IMO, has the correct thinking, but putting it on Instagram was a dick move as well. What a mess of a franchise. Your move, Gar. Yep. I hadn't realized they aired all that stuff in the media earlier, I thought it got leaked to them....now I realize they just put everyone on blast that way...which was a bad call. Rondo's was a bad call too, but more importantly, this has got to be irritating JR that the Bulls can't stay out of this type of press over the past couple of years. What a freaking train wreck this show is. For those that were team blow it all up, you probably should celebrate the Rondo / Wade signings as they might have driven the Bulls to implode everything.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 03:22 PM) not that he is wrong, but have fun in China, Rajon. If you weren't officially blacklisted as a clubhouse irritant/cancer before, you are now I do agree with the fact that none of this should have gotten out to the media. I also agree the fact that all of this is going on, further rips into the fact that Hoiberg has zero control of anything going on. Rondo didn't say anything wrong in his post, that said, what a circus that all of this is happening in the public eye. If there is one thing common between JR's franchises it seems to be the circus act going on between the players, coaches, and front office. With the Sox it was the whole Laroche / Sale / Eaton stuff (plus the t-shirt thing) and this with the Bulls (and obviously previously the messy Thibs saga). Embarassing and if I were JR, I'd be pissed.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 12:51 PM) Rondo and MCW are equally as bad of shooters. You guys are probably on to something with Lloyd (not that the Magic have excelled with him at the helm).
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 11:28 AM) I think it's starting to crack. They are really expensive, and the re-sale sucks. You could have sat in the Club level last night for $16 plus fees on Stubhub. Lower Center for $48. I think they are over $200 each face value. I had some partial season tickets a long time ago. Last summer they were hounding me to buy some season tickets. First time they did that. But I agree about Lloyd. He was supposedly the guy who targeted Butler and Gibson. For drafting that late, those were great picks. The year he left, Teague was picked. One of the worst shooters in NBA history. Rondo and MCW are equally as bad of shooters.

Watch the Bulls trade Niko and Rondo's expiring deals for Melo.
