KEVIN DING @KevinDing 54s Regarding Jeremy Lin (and Carlos Boozer in possible Pau sign-and-trade w/CHI), Lakers could get draft-pick assets they almost totally lack.
-
This could open up Boozer to Miami.
-
Per @IraHeatBeat, Chris Bosh has max offers from both Miami and Houston on the table. Bosh is torn choosing between two destinations
-
Mike McGraw @McGrawDHBulls 4s #Bulls feel they have some momentum with Carmelo, but ultimately their best-case scenario requires cooperation from Phil Jackson.
-
Jeremy Lin will be a Laker, per ESPN. Bosh can now sign in Houston (well once the Asik trade gets finalized).
-
Rumor: We're looking to finalize the works with a 3rd team right now to present to Melo. Knicks have obviously not joined in the discussions, but the feeling is that if Melo commits, they can get the Knicks on board with the sign and trade. Just need to keep working with that 3rd team. Other rumors from well repped insiders on real gm indicating Bulls FO confident. We shall see what happens. My faith has not wavered! Rumor #3: Bulls have talked to the Jazz, Sixers and Bucks from what I heard.

I think we knew this all along, but Lakers out per SAS. @SportsCenter: THIS JUST IN: Carmelo Anthony is deciding between Knicks & Bulls. Lakers are out. (via @stephenasmith) pic.twitter.com/k7pzCtGoYQ

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) You're right on Bosh (which is why I didn't include him). Miami would be moronic to sign Wade to a 2 year, 42 million dollar (or more likely what he was promised, 3 years 50 something) for a s***ty team that's not going to win. Wade got f***ed here. Haslem gave up a 4-5 million contract and he'll be out of the league now. True, Riley and Miami could still pay them if they're honorable people, but it's not guarantee they will. I am curious where Wade ends up. I really wouldn't be surprised if he turns into a plan b.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:37 AM) @ESPNSteinLine: Source close to situation says Kevin Love indeed "intrigued" by idea of being dealt to Cavs and would commit long there if traded there If love does goes there which seems like it will, and we don't get melo well yea.. I still don't buy Love signing in Cleveland long term.
-
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:29 AM) Cavs become instant favorites even with Melo in Chicago. Update: Sorry, you were talking about w/Love. I think Bulls with Melo are even with Cavs with big 3.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:02 AM) From a caller...? That's not a report lol. Have you seen the crap coming from the reporters. Might as well call it a report, lol.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:01 AM) Love that people are praising Lebron for doing the "right" thing, despite the fact that he allowed his "friends" to opt out of a s***load of guaranteed money. Bosh is still going to get his, but Wade and Haslem just got royally f***ed. It all depends on when he made up his mind. As long as he didn't tell them, yeah, I'm definitely coming back, then I don't blame LBJ.

ESPN radio caller who has been calling in regularly (with supposed inside information with ties to Melo's kid) saying that LaLa has given Anthony green light for Chicago. This is going to be a very interesting day.
-
Windhorst says Bulls are not giving up and to expect a strong push now.
-
Broussard just said that one player said LeBron told Melo to come play in Cleveland with him and Melo Said, "I don't even leave the hotel when I'm in Cleveland."
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 09:43 AM) Don't give ESPN any credit for this. That just happened to be first place I saw it. Sports Illustrated broke it (and I guess Sheridan was right all along).

Adrian Wojnarowski ✔ @WojYahooNBA Follow The dominos will start to fall now. Houston is moving quickly to complete a deal for Jeremy Lin, clear space and try to sign Chris Bosh.
-
In mere minutes, we should see Bosh sign with Houston. Classy way Bron Bron handled this. Presume you all have read the SI letter he wrote.
-
By the way, while this is actually worse news for the Bulls from a pure competitive standpoint (although good news, imo, in the Melo derby), this is just great news for the league, Cleveland, and I'm a fan of this.

SportsCenter ✔ @SportsCenter Follow BREAKING: LeBron James is signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers. (via @SInow)
-
ESPN announcing the return. LBJ is heading home. Come to Chicago Melo!!!

Official NHL 2014-15 Thread

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 08:48 AM) I never said that. I said the other deals that Stan overpaid on will start to hurt them. With this core, you can't just have a 3 year lull. One of the windows is right now. There's a salary cap as you know, so that's going to limit how high they can earn anyway. Do MLS stars really make 10.5 mil? I'm legit asking, I honestly don't know. It was my understanding that MLS guys don't make a ton, which is one reason it's so hard to get top talent. I can't imagine MLS revenue is greater than NHL revenue. Maybe it's the top stars make a ton and everyone else is making peanuts? Is the MLS TV contract that good? Don't the play on NBCSN as well? MLS Stars don't make more then Hockey players. I know nothing of the MLS contract although I swore ESPN just extended their agreement with them. Each team has like an exception where they can pay a big time salary though, above what the norm was. Beckham got huge money when he was playing with the Galaxy (like more then NBA top money). This is off the top of my head so someone probably should fact check me cause my memory sometimes sucks. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 08:45 AM) Again, I just don't see how under the cap this is feasible. Big 3? Easy, bird rights on all 3. Renouncing Bosh doesn't suddenly free up 20 million for them to spend. I don't disagree with you. Only way it could be done is if both Melo / Lebron take some discounts. I've always discounted it because of the moves they made but now I really do wonder if LBJ is just waiting Bosh out so he has to eventually sign with the Rockets.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 08:38 AM) mirotic. Depending on what they are doing, if Knicks aren't involved, you wouldn't be able to get Mirotic, as you wouldn't have access to the MLE.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 08:39 AM) Explain Melo / Wade / James.
