  1. LOL Rob Fee ✔ @robfee Follow I hope Dwyane Wade doesn’t play this year and just sits in the rafters of all of Lebron’s games like Sting stalking the nWo in 96.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:06 PM) Stephen A. Smith said one issue Lebron had with Heat was his Mom and family seats were across court from Heat bench and not behind it. I really can't believe that.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) That is a f***ing god-awful rule that undermines the entire purpose of cap holds Same rule for all teams in the league though. That was one of the reasons they said all along Morey knew what he was doing. He wanted to get Parsons inked and bring him back and long felt best way to do that was to let him test the open market, get his fair rate, and then sign him. Not a bad m.o. The alternative was taking the option this year and then in another year having him as a UFA and not having the ability to match everything (in case Parsons did want to go to another spot).
  4. K.C. Johnson ‏@KCJHoop 46s Tom Thibodeau has pushed hard for Kirk Hinrich's return. GM Gar Forman called re-signing Hinrich "a priority" at season's end.
  5. @Probballdraft: The Heat will re-sign Dwyane Wade to a max deal, according to a source. No pay cut. Mr. Heat will retire in South Beach. #ClassyOrganization
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) I really hope this doesn't drag out too long with Melo because I have long thought it makes a ton of sense to get Kirk back at the vet min and I think he will come back, but if we have to keep sitting around that could pose an issue. Bulls could also get really creative and sign Kirk to like a 4.7M deal (technically you make it a 3 year deal with final 2 years being non-guaranteed) and use it as another asset in a S&T.
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:53 PM) If Melo was going to sign with the Knicks he would have done that like five days ago, right? The Lakers are out. He isnt teaming up with Lebron and it doesnt appear there is any dark horse that will come out of the blue. Melo has to be a Bull some way some how. I believe Jeff...I believe. I think Melo has a lot of doubts and also isn't 100% sure he can get the money close while still going to a real good roster. Bulls best chances is for Phil to ultimately help but they need to have rumors leaked that they have scenario's lined up to get Melo his 94M max offer so that Phil bites into this S&T.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:51 PM) The only way the Parsons thing can work is if he agrees to not sign the offer sheet until after Bosh signs. That would constitute a shameful loophole that I find irritating the Mavericks will allow to be exploited No; The cap hold at the RFA price stays until the Rockets actually accept it. Basically put, there are 2 days left for Bosh to sign and the Rockets to still match Parsons. Bosh just needs to sign before the Rockets accept the offer sheet (which they now are almost down to 48 hours to do as it was signed by Parsons yesterday afternoon).
  9. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:24 PM) Sometime between flag day and the summer solstice of 2015 would be most strategic for bringing him up, would it not? I think we are all jumping the gun a bit here. Lets let the kid pitch a bit in the minors first. This isn't Strausburg we are talking about. Rodon is good and I'm all for being aggressive but lets let him have some success first.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:49 PM) Nevermind, we would. But we'd be knee deep in the tax if we give Melo the max, pay Jimmy his market value next year, and use the MLE. We'd also be a title contender, I think JR would do it. The tax payments we'd have wouldn't be massive either? Not like 20M or anything like that.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:46 PM) Sets up for a lot of things to potentially go wrong though. First that means you can't extend Butler this year which he might not like. Second it sets up the possibility of a poison pill contract forcing the Bulls to lose Butler. Third, it requires the Bulls to still have cap space after Butler's cap hold as an RFA. Finally, it requires there to be someone available on the market next year to go after as a FA. Oh and for a full max deal the cap would need to reach somewhere in the range of $68 million. If we have learned anything, those poison pill contracts can be moved. Houston had two of them and in reality netted out even. They got a pick for Asik, lost a pick for Lin. Never had to deal with the "poison" pill years. Bulls would have to pay big luxury tax money but technically they can work things where they have flexibility again next year. That will be the last year though, unless they want Jimmy B to walk (and Butler as an RFA is getting big bucks...10+M).
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:47 PM) Why wouldn't the Bulls have the MLE next year? Only thing we wouldn't have is the BAE, which is the bianial exemption, which I presume we will use this year (last used on Marco B).
  13. Mike McGraw ‏@McGrawDHBulls 46s If Lakers agree to pay Jeremy Lin $15 million by getting a 1st rounder, is there hope for a Boozer trad
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:16 PM) has Broussard made any appearances yet? It will be interesting to see him stumble and bumble Lets just wait until Melo finally announces he's headed to Chicago and joining the Bulls!
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Espn says Bosh has committed to the Rockets Great fit alongside Dwight.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Gasol to OKC has to hurt NYK's chances at Melo. Gasol hasn't signed anywhere. There was a fake tweet.
  17. @McGrawDHBulls 41s Regarding possible Bulls-Knicks sign & trade, Phil Jackson & John Paxson have a relationship, obv, but not particularly tight, I've heard
  18. Riley trying to get Deng / Bosh / Wade to be the new big 3.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 11:21 AM) Oh, the guy who said the Bulls had no chance with Carmelo, and never did, and they knew it. These guys are pretty good. When they are right, they let everyone know, when they couldn't be more wrong, they just let it slide off their backs like it never happened. Stein has thrown s*** at the wall all off-season. I don't buy the report at all.
  20. I'm not buying into Wade to Chicago (w/Melo stuff). But it could be done. Big thing is finding a way to get Melo. Do it!!!
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) Yes on Anthony. No need for Wade if you get Anthony. Maybe we are going to have to give up more then we think to get Anthony which means we have to be creative to get other pieces. My preference is Anthony while keeping bulk of our assets. Don't know if that is doable. Depends on whether Phil will help us or not.
  22. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) Ugh, where is the money coming for and where does Wade play? Presume after signing Melo you would then do a S&T with Heat with some picks or something and get a TPE back from Heat.
  23. Stein said Bulls are trying to get Wade and Anthony!
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 11:13 AM) That's not my question. My question is why pick up Boozer in a sign and trade with pretty worthless draft picks and other crappy pieces , allowing the Bulls to give Melo more money and use an exception for a guy like Mirotic, when you can still get Boozer's expiring contract at the amnesty auction if that is some attraction, and you force Melo to accept less money and one of your rivals won't be able to make other moves? IMO, the only motivation Phil should have accepting Boozer is if you give him something really good to go along with it. Not something mediocre. And I think draft picks at the bottom of round 1 are mediocre. You don't get his expiring in an amnesty auction. You only get whatever amount you bid / paid for him. So lets say Heat bid 3M and get Boozer, then Boozer is a 3M cap hit to him.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) I think since it is your honeymoon they will do whatever they can within reason to accommodate you. I agree; I would wait until you have the offer and then mention it. Either way it shouldn't matter. People understand it is your honeymoon.
