QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 04:50 PM) Garza looked incredible for Fullerton on the mound. He has such electric stuff for such a small guy.

Regionals will be over at the end of the day and super regionals next weekend. Saw a gem on Saturday (Which featured a husky running out to the field). Fullerton will host UCLA who knocked Fullerton out in the super regionals back in 2010. Fullerton's pitching was sick, 2 runs in 3 games. If you haven't seen their closer, Lorenzen (who is also their centerfielder), you should watch him...the slider/slurve he throws is just filthy (especially when compared to his upper 90's fastball). Anyway...not sure why no college baseball thread..but as a Titan fan and big college baseball fan I needed to post something.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) I plan on watching the Bruins/Pens game and flipping over to see what the score is in between stoppages. The NHL gets how to do playoffs better than any other sport. And by that, you mean televising games on channels people don't watch or get?

Happy Belated Bday to some awesome Soxtalkers!!!

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) Sweet....wife happy? Yep....but like me, feeling poor. There will be lots of chicken, veggie and rice stir fry dinners at home while we start to build our savings back up, haha.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:13 AM) Floors come out nice? Beautiful. Only thing I'm waiting on is the new fridge and washer/dryer we ordered. Got all my other appliances in this week (Bosh stove, microwave, and dishwasher). Fridge doesn't come till Friday though. I feel very poor though, spent a little more then we had originally planned (weren't planning on buying new washer/dryer but the wife wanted em and figured no better time then when you were moving). But little things are expensive...such as putting on new doorknobs...good grief. I didn't realize what I had done. I almost went digging through the trash to get my old ones back, haha. House is nice...wish it was bigger, but should be perfect for our soon to be growing family. When we get the shutters and everything in, I'll share some pictures of our flooring, etc.

Spent the first night at our new place. So so nice. Now to stop spending money and to start making money again!!!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2013 -> 07:54 PM) Welp, congrats to the three-time eastern conference champion Heat. I thought maybe with their 3-point shooting that the Knicks could get hot (kinda like the Mavs in '11) and possibly shock the world. Pacers? Boring. Heat in 5. Pacers are better then the Knicks. Knicks are soft. Pacers might be able to wear the Heat down a bit. But it should be an easy series. Heat would have routed the Knicks though.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 15, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) Hard to imagine them not getting rid of Boozer and getting younger at that position. I'd be stunned if Boozer was dumped. People are really underestimating how he played for the squad this year and you need to have him around a guy like Rose. If they can get better, great, otherwise pay the freaking tax and keep him.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2013 -> 06:33 PM) Game 3 the Bulls got jobbed. Very competitive game which should have came down to the final 2 minutes but the refs swung it in favor of the Heat. Not saying Bulls would have won but to not call that game competitive is a joke. Game 5 is going a similar way as game 3. NBA refs are a joke. Pisses the hell out of me. Nothing was much worse then some of those Lakers series of the early 2000's.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 15, 2013 -> 05:44 PM) I'm with you about tonight. This is shocking. But games 2-4 were not competitive at all. Game 3 the Bulls got jobbed. Very competitive game which should have came down to the final 2 minutes but the refs swung it in favor of the Heat. Not saying Bulls would have won but to not call that game competitive is a joke.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2013 -> 05:12 PM) In all seriousness, Miami should be flat out embarrassed with this series. They have been taken to the wall with a team that has a roster worthy of a lottery pick on the floor for this playoff series. If anything this should embolden the rest of the league that if they have some real talent on the floor, and are willing to bring it every night, the Heat can be beat. I don't know if you can say they've been taken to the wall. The series is 3-1 and two of those games were blowout wins by the Heat.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 13, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Ha. He's part of it. But really. I still have nightmares about that '04 Detroit team. #wORSTmoSTBoringChampionshipTeamSINCE1979. The grizzlies are so similar. So sad that Westbrook got hurt. That's the only reason this boring ass team is going to the conference finals. Seriously...Memphis is a pretty damn good team that is built for the playoffs. They are the best team in the west right now and will give the heat a run if they make it to the finals.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) Hard to beat the Heat when Cole plays as well as he has. Bulls don't have the talent to beat the Heat and the refs. They were pretty jobbed with the calls. Put up a valiant effort.

I read an article yesterday that the Mortgage Bankers Association is projecting a rise of 30 year loans rates to 4.4 by the end of the year. No idea what the basis for that is and it just might be the association wants to create some nice marketing to force another uptick in refi's, haha. Realistically, it is based upon improvements in the economy.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 9, 2013 -> 01:37 PM) Sweet! How much are the floors running you? $7500 (which includes installation). We are doing a nice darker color wood with a rustic look (so has some scuffs in it, etc...that way when it gets the wear and tear of our use, it doesn't stand out). In the bathrooms/laundry room are installing 20 inch tiles (travertine). About 650 square feet of wood and 200 square feet of title. It also included the cost to rip everything out and removing/replacing the big base boards we have (so that you don't have to use quarter round). Next up on my list of things to do will be painting, installing my new appliances (some Bosh appliances...thank you friends employee discount), and installing 3/1/2 inch clear view shutters. Then I'm done and poor and will be focused on creating the baby nursery.

Closed escrow on our new place on Monday. Putting in new wood floor right now. Moving in in about 10 days. Pretty excited, but very house-poor, haha.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 7, 2013 -> 03:14 PM) I've been told over and over he is one of the best in the game!! It turns out he relied a lot on his assistants, his top three of which have had some levels of success elsewhere.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 8, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) The HOF has made a huge public database of scouting reports throughout the years. This is awesome: http://scouts.baseballhall.org/ Frank Thomas in 1988: http://scouts.baseballhall.org/report?repo...yerid=thomafr04 Pretty cool. Mike Rizzo was the scout.

Sox setting up for the end of the Konerko era?
Chisoxfn replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) So the Sox claimed Lars Anderson first, then cleared him off of the 40 man by outrighting him to Charlotte. Today they claimed Mike McDade, another 1B. Are the Sox setting up for the end of the Paul Konerko era? If that is the answer to Konerko, we are in trouble. Same can be said for Viciedo, who has a lot to prove this year. -
Incredible performance. Incredible team. They don't have enough chips but I can dream!!!

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 5, 2013 -> 08:35 AM) Oh please. He's the best player on my favorite team, I will cheer my ass off for him next season. That being said, I have lost all respect for the guy. What he's doing this year is absolutely ridiculous. I seriously don't see how anybody can defend him anymore. Still, it'd be insanely dumb to trade the guy and anybody saying we're better off with out him is crazy. I've probably been consistently the most harsh on Rose in this thread and I'll still cheer is ass off. I think what he's doing is downright disgusting but he can overcome it and I'm not him so I could be completely overreacting. I know one thing...I'm incredibly proud to be a fan of this Bulls team. They bust their asses!

Hell of a game. Taj had a brutal series but had some good hustle plays early...struggled again late. Refs were just awful the whole series. Noah just balls...total balls. Unbelievable. Can't say it enough. Jimmy Butler...money. Good shooter, so strong when he goes to the whole, and excellent defense. Marco...you frustrate the hell out of me...but you stepped up!

Where did Broussard make those comments? On air, tweet?
